No, not at all. In fact, when I remember and don't fall asleep I pray for my future wife, if there is one on this earth for me. I have NO idea if i've met her, but I can still pray for her right?

I always pray that my future husband is making the right choices in life that will lead him to me and that Heavenly Father will keep him safe and protected. Because I can't protect him now, so I need God's help with that. I pray that whoever I am suppose to be with whether christian or not will be open to being a christian when we meet and share the same faith and beliefs. It might be silly but I just remember my older sister(9 years older) praying for her future husband and then she ended up marrying the boy next door. Now they live between parents. Lol!
This is the correct way to get a husband (or a wife for that matter), other ways can lead one into difficulties...

I think God is totally into details. But I also always pray for His best. I think He really cares about each and every little thing. It's amazing when He shows us too. But I understand the fear of details. Lol it's only a fairly recent endeavor of mine.

Even if every detail isn't mapped out, He hears and understands the groaning of our heart and He knows us better than we know ourselves or give Him credit for. He hears our prayers and He has answered us. May we all bless the name of the Lord forever.
Every Good and perfect gift comes from Him. Like Genesis 24.

I absolutely love the level of trust they all had in their God. They trusted God and God IN others.
So yeah, talking to God about your future spouse, trusting Him and your relationship with Him is not only a good thing, it's strongly encouraged.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5

I can't imagine why it would be wrong to pray for a godly spouse. I would think God would also be okay with us praying for whomever that is, whether we know them yet or not. It would probably also be okay for us to pray for godly spouses for those we love who'd like one.

haha as God would have it, I happened to have Genesis 24 opened on the desk before I saw this thread...........generally more praying and less camels nowadays, although nothing is impossible, so who am I to rule out camels at a well!!!

praying for your future husband and or wife is a great idea i have been praying for the man i will marry one day

Of course it's not wrong to pray for a great Christian spouse. God wants believers to marry fellow believers.
I take if farther and pray for her specifically. Well, sort of. My prayer starts out more like "Be with my future wife, IF I have one." and kind of goes from there. If I don't end up getting married, then I haven't really lost anything by praying. If I do have one, then it's time well spent and I believe it's possible she could feel those prayers at times.
I mentioned that last part to a friend from CC last night. ..about how sometimes we can feel it when someone is praying for us. It's a great peace. I got that last night most recently (which is what made me mention it). Of course I usually don't know who it is, but hey it could be the future wife. Either way, I appreciate whoever it is praying.
Sure, you might meet a guy that will go to church with you and say he accepts your beliefs etc. yet he doesn't have a genuine relationship with God..he just says he does for you. I've seen it happen plenty and lead to relationship problems.
So I hope you search out the Bible, and pray, and ponder this some more. It could save you some trouble.

Part of this post baffles me a bit. If you are a Christian woman, God wants you to marry a Christian man. It is that simple. Whatever man you end up with is either going to help your walk with Christ or hurt it. I don't think there is an in between. If he isn't a genuine believer, that's assurance there will be trouble.
