What to do???

Can anybody chat a minute? I was divorced 1 1/2 years ago after 22 years. My two sons are only 14 and 10. I have found a Christiana man who I absolutely adore and he treats me like a queen. But... my boys don't like him! What do I do?
 
Find out the reasons your sons dont like him.

Your children come first.
 
If your kids had a good relationship with their father then they may see the new guy as a threat to that relationship. If they didn't, they may fear that they will be disappointed by the new guy. Also it may be a protection thing toward you if the marriage was abusive. Keep in mind you haven't mentioned how your marriage was or ended. I'm just throwing ideas from my own experience so all of that might be wrong.

I agree with Nod, find out why they don't like him, and be prepared for irrational and hysterical, and just go slow let the two sides get to know each other before you make any major decisions.
 
Teenage boys can be extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemely protective of their single moms. I have one of those. :) Some of them feel the need to become the man of the house and they aren't too thrilled about someone else coming along and doing that, unless it's their natural father. And some kids cling to the hope that their parents will get back together and automatically dislike someone new coming along that might make that impossible.

There are so many possibilities. The best way to find out is to ask them in a loving, calm moment what they don't like about him and actually listen to what they have to say. I agree with the Nod, when you have kids, you have to do what is best for them.

If this is truly a godly man, he will understand your love for your children and be patient and kind about it. He is, after all, an adult. They're just kids.
 
There are various methods of mind control the CIA was said to have experimented with during the Cold War. Something you may want to look into.
