Of course, another error about the "ever virgin" Mary is that she was not "ever virgin".

Oops! lol Sorry for my grammatical error. Of course I meant to say that Mary was NOT "ever virgin".
Mark 6:3 says Christ is THE Son of Mary, not A Son of Mary. Therefore, Mary is ever-virgin. Simple Biblical truth.

Tradition is not necessarily truth. In this case, it is assuredly not truth.

well error number one about mary is the claim that she was 'ever virgin'

like i said in the other thread...i don't understand why people who wish to honor mary would -insult- her by claiming that she sexually neglected her husband and disobeyed the scriptural teaching on sexuality within marriage...

Not to mention that Jesus HAD BROTHERS. If He had brother, Mary had to have born other children, which MEANS..... yeah...she had SEX!!

Matthew 12:46
[ Changed Relationships ] While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him
.
Mark 3:31
Then His mother and His brothers arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him.
Luke 8:19
And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd.
John 2:12
After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
John 7:3
Therefore His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.
John 7:5
For not even His brothers were believing in Him.
John 7:10
But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.
Acts 1:14
These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

NOW, do you BELIEVE that Mary could not have stayed a virgin and born His brothers AND been a Godly wife??

Is it really a point upon which salvation depends for Catholics whether or not Mary was a virgin after the birth of Yeshua?

No, it is not a Salvation issue. We are not to pray to Mary. THAT IS a salvation issue because it is idolatry. Jesus is our ONLY mediator.1 Tim 2:5
One only need to READ THE SCRIPTURES to KNOW that Marry had other kids. It really is a no brainer and IMO, threads like these are started by people who either have not read the Bible OR hold tradition above God's written Words.

I find interesting the argument that "had no other kids" = "necessarily never had sex after that point." With the utmost respect to those involved, Joseph could have been infertile yet acquainted himself nightly with Mary, and she'd still be able to claim only having one son. Virginity, as I know it, is not defined by the number of children, and even if it were I doubt anyone would want to deny she had at least one son.

Lot is called Abraham's "brother", when actually Lot was Abraham's nephew. So brother does not necessarily mean literally brother. DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SIMPLE FACT? You are assuming, without proof, the Bible tells us to "TAKE THE WORDS "BROTHERS" LITERALLY'. Not everything in Scripture is Literal. Do you take the words of Christ, "I AM THE DOOR", literally? Is Christ a wooden plank with a knob in the middle?

According to James we are commanded to pray for each other: JAMES 5:16. What is the PREVENT the SAINTS IN HEAVEN from PRAYING FOR US? Don't you read REVELATION 7 and REVELATION 14? Are these not saints in heaven praying before the throne of God for the Church on earth?
What about those who hold PROTESTANT PRIVATE TRADITION above God's written words in the Bible? Such as "faith alone" (versus James 2:24)?
What about Protestants who IGNORE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT TRADITION (SPOKEN TRADITION, 2 THESSALONIANS 2:15)?

Does it have to be a salvation issue for you to believe it? It is not a salvation issue for us to believe God created the world in 6 days. Maybe science can be reconciled with Scripture if TIME FLOWS AT DIFFERENT RATES AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND PLACES, so 14 BILLION YEARS CAN BE THE SAME TIME AS SIX 24 HOUR DAYS.
But we don't have to believe the world was created in September of 5009 BC, to be saved. But some people do believe that.

TRADITION IS NOT NECESSARILY FALSE. Some Protestant say all tradition is false, is traditions of men. THEY IGNORE 2 THESSALONIANS 2:15!
I did not say all tradition is false. But it IS false when it contradicts the written Word. Or clings to things the written Word does not support.

ut it IS false when it contradicts the written Word. Or clings to things the written Word does not support.

Who has the right or the ABILITY to correctly determine what the written Word supports?

Hmm. Let me rephrase the question. A Catholic says that he believes Mary had children after the birth of Jesus, however in every other way follows the rules of Catholicism, prays to Mary, obeys the wishes of the Pope save in this one point, does whatever you do for Mass and suchlike. Is this hypothetical person thrown out of the Church and declared a heretic, is he excommunicated, or simply accepted within the Church? And: does the Pope believe this person will enter Heaven when he dies?
