This will probly not make it but ill post it anyway. I simply have one question: Why is it ok to be a Christian, but not ok to be any of the countless other religions of the world. Why is Christianity so right and everyone else so wrong? This isnt an attack on your beliefs i just want to know why.

The right thing is not to be part of a religion, the right thing is to believe that Jesus died for our sins and resurrected and accept him then as our savior

But what of the peoplewho have grown up to a different set of beliefs those who have never heard of jesus and never do?

Dont be shy people leave a comment tell me im an idiot whatever wht not but i want to hear the thoughts of this community on this particular topic.

matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
No one is left out..the gospel of Christ is for all people..One things is that Christ is the only one who actually suffered death so that we could live an eternity with Him...He took on our guilt, sin, shame so that when we stand before our Heavenly Father He sees Jesus and not us...how awesome is that!

Chinchilla, the reason that the only thing to be is a Christian is because only Christianity actually has a Saviour, and for those who have never heard of Christ, Christians telling others OF Him is what we as Christians are to do to let them know. I believe anyone who was born and dies without ever hearing of Christ will be judged by God the Father, as to whether they would have accepted Christ's sacrifice as done for them.

John Chapter 13 verses 6 though 13.
Matthew Chapter 7 verse 13 and 14.

Romans Chapter 11 verses 8, 9 and 10.
Proverbs Chapter 14 verse 12.

Chinchilla, there is a part of Christianity that makes this really difficult to answer. God is a savior of persons. He desires a personal relationship with each and every one of us. As a result, each person's reasons will be different, and it really comes down to your own personal reasons. That said, I'll give you some of the reasons that I have.

1) Sacrificial Love. There are other religions with a focus on love, but many of these (eastern) religions focus on self love. On seeking to discover yourself, to discover and develop above all else a love for yourself. On the other hand, christianity teaches that love for ones neighbor is second only to love for their savior and maker.

2) Absolute Truth. Christianity teaches absolute truth. Without it the world I see could not exist. Without absolute truth, the world is useless, there is no hope. This is quite a deep philosophical idea, I apologize for not giving it the completeness that it deserves.

3) Direct Interaction. God is ever involved with humanity. His word and spirit guide us daily. They encourage us and demonstrate the real-ness of both Love and Absolute Truth. God isn't distant, He is HERE.

4) Bible. Christianity's holy book. There are sites that do provide evidence of the historical accuracy of much that is recorded in the Bible. The age of the documents used to build the Bible, along with the fact that they weren't lost provides some further evidence to its importance. Personally, this evidence never really seemed convincing to me. In the end my belief in the accuracy/truth of the Bible came as a result of following a similar process to Descartes' systematic doubt. In the end, as with Descartes, I had to find a single belief that could not be doubted. Without this most basic truth, there is no way that I could accept anything at all. For Descartes that belief involved the existence of God and his own ability to think. For me that most basic belief was that the Bible was truth, and the God of the bible was truth. Without belief in an external benevolent being(s) there simply is no way to accept our own existence.

Hope I didn't lose you. Your question is one with huge philosophical implications. It has been studied and debated for years and years. If you truly seek some answers, there are several theologians and philosophers who have wrestled through this and written about it. In the end, though, I believe they all got to a point where they had no choice but to have faith in something. I find Love to be the driving force behind my faith in the God of the bible. No other being real or imagined, supernatural or or otherwise has exhibited such love.

Chinch?

You need to give God a chance to work in your life then you will see the Truth.

There is not anyone here saying our Christian belief is better than another religión belief, but someone could jump in here and post that kind of judgment at any time. That is just human nature, but that is not God , who is not human. We (humans) are made in God's image but we are not like Him. God is deity.

When posting you need to be patient and not expect immediate answers. Some posts can go hours without any response. I've seen posts go 12 hours before anyone responds. This is not a real fast moving forum. I typically only check it once a day. And some days so little goes on i might only make two or three posts out of the whole forum.

It is not "christianity" in all of its different versions that is right. It is CHRIST who is the truth, and He says there is no other way except through Him:

John 14:16 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

ACTS 4: 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is

“‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’[a] 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Because I believe God called to me when I was a lost and desperate soul and He led me to Jesus.

The one thing that Jesus teaches which is above all others is that God loves you. Just like we all have parents who loved us at one time or another, we have a Father in heaven who never stops loving us and wants us to come home to Him after our work is completed in this life. The loving family is an earthly model for the loving God and His children. Jesus is our all-powerful, all-loving, merciful brother and if you are catholic like me, you believe that you also have a mother in heaven who loves us all as her children too.

God bless.

Hi

Thanks for your sincere question.

Christianity is not a religion and should not be placed alongside with others. The Bible declares in Gen 1:1, 'In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth'. And since then, there is a falling away of mankind and Jesus Christ came to bridge the way back to God.

Therefore, being a Christian is to accept Jesus' way and returning to our CREATOR, who is also our HEAVENLY FATHER.

Hope this helps!
