Green was talking about proposals, so what about THE ring?
I'm very sentimental and romantic, so when/if I marry again, I would very much like to use my mom's wedding ring. It has a large diamond in the center and smaller diamonds that look much like angel wings coming from it. I wear it on my right hand from time to time now and it makes me feel that she is still with me in a way. Wearing it as my wedding ring would sort of make me feel that I had my parents' blessing...if that makes sense.
My questions are these:
Guys, would you object to that? Would you prefer to pick out something new?
Ladies, is there a ring of your dreams? Antique? Modern? Cut (I think pear cuts are beautiful)? Color (a friend of mine just got engaged and wanted a ruby)? Is there a ring in your family that you have saved for this purpose?
A sapphire ring, set in silver. Maybe antique silver. And no, it has nothing to do with the Royal Wedding rings. I love sapphire, and that has always been to me the prettiest stone.
If not a sapphire, then amethysts, emerald or Ruby. I'm not personally big on diamonds. To me, they have no real life.

For a more specific answer; I like more modern for the most part. I am partial to cushion cut but I don't think that there is any cut I don't like. lol I really like canary diamonds, I think they're really unique and beautiful! Not your run of the mill kinda ring but still somewhat traditional. But like I said before, I like many things and would be happy with anything I was given because all that the ring means and represents is so much more valuable than any stone or band I could ever want.

It would be for some girls, and I wouldn't be opposed to that, if the guy I was supposed to marry really wanted to pick something out by himself. However, I would be happy just knowing that he knew me well enough to know that I love designing my own stuff. Plus, it would give me the assurance that he's well aware of how unconventional and picky I can be about things like that.

Lol, the twisty-tie proposal would be fine, although honey-suckle vine is more my style, and very abundant where I live. To fully understand why I wouldn't mind, it helps to know that I'm a little odd, and would get a huge kick out of something unconventional like that. It also helps to know that I hate surprises, and wouldn't want to be proposed to unexpectedly (cough, *ahem*)........(gives someone "The Look")......
So, I guess what I'm saying is that since I'm not your average girl, it would put my mind at ease to know that poor Prince Charming knew what he was getting himself into. Because I can be hard to put up with, for sure

And snackersmommy, with the money I save I will rent you all the good nursery story dvds to watch with me, starting with Rapunzel (in honor of snackers' doo) and eventually ending with a box for you to open with what else but miscanthus plumes in it , 12x12x12 box , with the last of the dvds in it, titled, but of course, most perfectly picked, er, perfectly plucked, rather, secretly, off the shelf, about a ugly gray duckling that grows into a most beautiful white bird
