What movies (with much music in them) moved you?

Prince Of Egypt .

The movie completely moved me because it was the signature (first) major motion picture produced by Disney exec defector, Katzenberger, I think who was part of the major thinking behind animation, feature-length greats, The Little Mermaid (1987), Alladin (1990), Beauty And The Beast (1991), for Diz.

So, when that group got together, Spielberg , Geffen (Gremlins), Katzenberger, I was enthralled with just the idea of those three making a picture. But when their animation minds of their company, SKG Dreamworks, chose to do a retelling of a part of the book of the bible (Exodus), that floored me.

Anyway, the songs in the movie were musically enchanting every bit as delicious to listen to as Be Our Guest, Under The Sea, and, Whole New World.

My favorite song in this movie I know the opening lyrics to, and, it is such a great song of faith, but, Yeah, these three director/producer/bmoc in film industry, making this movie strengthened this 1998 December time for me to understand God's power and how great thou art. :)

Many nights we prayed with no proof anyone could hear.
In our hearts a hopeful song we barely understood.
Now we are not afraid though there is much to fear.
We were moving mountains long before we knew we could.

The movie that has moved me the most recently was The Heart of Christmas. It was a movie about a little boy named Dax who was diagnosed with leukemia and, long story short, had only one last Christmas (in June, I think) because he passed away shortly after from the cancer. I watched it on the Gospel Music Channel, GMC, in December about three times and it moved me because it reminded me of how blessed I am as a cancer survivor. It really brought me back around to the reminder of spreading childhood cancer awareness around the world.

What: The first one that I can recall is A Walk to Remember.

What got to me: The perseverance of the female protagonist, despite what her peers think of her- how strong she is in her faith. And the way that she changes the male protagonist, who is faithless and rowdy, but learns what love was through her and her short time in his life.

When: I was maybe 13 or 14 the first time I saw it.

How: Tears were runnin' on down. I was watching it with my best friend, and I think she had even warned me, "You will cry". After an inspirational movie, I'll often have a burst of energy, excitement or reverence.

6 weeks is not a music-stirring movie, as I remember, but, CHC, a good movie nonetheless that I saw as a kid, it was about a 10 year old girl and a mom not married as well as a guy (dudley moore) in it and it is about all I remember except they had fun together after girl was diagnosed terminally ill.

Another music movie that tore the heartstrings out of me was the movie about Jim Morrison, lead singer of the Doors in movie The Doors. Wow! Unbelievable songs that were secular but were stirring nonetheless and showed me the great mind of a musician and songwriter. People say Robby and others in Doors wrote the actual music but I think maybe some bitterness could be there from Jim Morrison's act that stalled out to death a band that went from nothing in 1967 to something else (#1 rock band in america) by 1971.
Morrison's inventive use of poetry themed the many songs of his that became wild hits, like Riders On The Storm, Light My Fire, and, Break On Through To The Other Side. So, whatever, believe what you want on who wrote The Doors music, but certainly Jim Morrison (not Van Morrison, guitarist in band, wildly pop. over 40 years time) sung so wickedly sweet the lyrics.. and , that all said , just believe in Jesus my best advice ;) .

So , in this movie, the lyrics of aforementioned songs just CAUGHTme and I am not sure but pretty sure it not only moved me in my head to think it 'good movie,' but in my heart too as I would go on to write some songs , lyrics , music , that I would later sing to others and get high commendation from. Just saying that The Doors movie made me realize 'song' was in me, I think.
I am not trying to brag, just saying how this movie has stuck in mind and I see Jim Morrison having SPOILER ATTENTION! been so high with popularity and money and the band that he needed something else. God. And, after watching the ending of the movie, I cried , because here was someone that had it all from a world view, fame and fortune, and, a mind, to boot, that wrote masterpiece literature, liltingly so, into song, and, went into drugs , worse and worse and.... The end.
Except to say , Jim.Morrison read nietzsche, and, he is was a philosopher with exteme evil beliefs and hateful spite in God and religion, didn't believe in it. But it is said Jim Morrison's poetry and lyrics that he /band members formulated into music was laced with nietzcheisms.
So, that all said, GREAT MOVIE, made me find more faith in God and understanding of how important He was in my life. Without Him, I have no support . With Him, I am solid standing, even on sinking sand :)

Pearl Harbor w/ Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale, Josh Hartnet (another amazing soundtrack by Hanz Zimmer)

Titanic w/ Leo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet (soundtrack by James Horner)

Swiss Family Robinson, (1960) It's a story of survival. Don't ask me why, but survival type movies really draw me.
Two Brothers-About two tiger brothers, separated as cubs and reunited in the end.
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers-Don't ask why, I don't know.
Fort Petticoat-Women fighting off Indians and bad men. Who wouldn't love that. Right, Jules ;)
The Robe-Very old movie about a man who's life was transformed by Christ, through his purchase of his robe. In the end, both he and his wife (who chose to die with him) died for their beliefs.
Oh, must not forget, Mr. Holland's Opus- Just being able to change a child's life for the better has always been my dream. Also Stand and Deliver, To Sir-With Love

I saw few months ago a movie that moved me completely "Letters to God", based on a real life story about a child that have cancer and start writting letters to God, the postman find them and deliver them to the ppl that the letters talk about and touch the lives of many ppl. And the songs of the movie are beautiful, my favorite is "Dear Mr God"

Yes, vkat, indeed, that was a great movie, I liked it a lot, I started to like Chopin after watching it :)

And I'm sure you are changing children's lives for the better with your teaching, vkat, in song and structure .

The Robe is a song I believe, not seen the movie but was popular christian song too .

Probably has the most well known computer too, even if it is fake. I wonder if Hal 900 is the model for AVIAS found in Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern novels.
 
Across the universe - if you love the beatles, this movies is terrific.

SLC Punk - if the Smith's make up most of your soundtrack, you know your movie is going to be good.

Pirate Radio - Good 1960's english rock music
 
Love Actually...a real "feel good" movie with quite a bit of decent music in it...

Pretty Woman...Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, I thought had real good chemistry between them, and the odd bit of decent music in it...
 
Lots of moves, moved me....which I sort of am a movie library

but one movie would be "The Christmas Shoes"

I remember hearing the song by New Song and I loved that song, then i found out about the movie. I watched it and it is actually the first movie that makes me cry all the way through, each time, part of the movie i have to actually pause, because i am crying so much, but I love that movie. and the song

I will only watch it by myself, but still good movie
