Two part question:

1. What word makes you cringe?

2. What is your favorite word?

"yummy" makes me cringe

Other than "Jesus", of course, my favorite word to hear is "Mom" :)
 
1) Atheist
Hits me straight to the core everytime. I don't know really if I have a "favorite" word persay. I suppose It would be hope or faith.
 
I cant tell you the word that makes me cringe, because typing it or saying it makes me cringe.

Favorite word by far: Conjunction
 
1. "CRASHBANGWHAMKABLOOM" always makes me cringe.

2. Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
 
1. I have many words that make me cringe:

"heh" - I have no idea what this means but, I don't like it at all.

"guy" - when not used in third or second person makes me cringe.

Cheesy Pet Names - Like NodmyheadlikeaCareBear or JulliannaBear or LiamCub


2. Words that I like to hear are absolutes.

"Always"

"Forever"

"Anywhere"

"Eternally"

"this guy" even though you are referring to yourself, is still 3rd person. Calling someone on the street, "Hey Guy! yeah you, with the face." <--thats what I'm talking about.

or doing the astrics thing then pretending like your doing something your really not makes me cringe.... like *hands her some water* This can actually be filed under things that also make me roll my eyes.

I seriously wasn't sure what you meant by using ''guy" in anything other than second or third person lol, so thanks for clearing that up.

I kinda thought that was what you were referring to.

I haven't thought of any particular word that makes me cringe, but it bothers me when people misspell words on purpose such as love ------> luv

One of my favorite words would have to be resilience
 
mushy pet names make me cringe too, as do poodle names for women, like "Buffy" or "Sissy" or "Barbie"
 
The word that makes me cringe is: "sexy"
My favorite word is: Love

And yes, I both type, and literally laugh like "hehehe" often.

Why does yummy make you cringe? Its a word thats associated with excellent food or my husband..
 
Does "omg" count as a word? That makes me cringe. Although, I have met some who mean "oh my gosh" when they use it rather than just throwing God's name around. Yeah, I realize when spoken it's three words. I can count at least that high.

Favorite word: Jesus.... Love....positive words.

What if someone called you a yummy Mom? Would it just balance out?

"heh" = laugh. I use it sometimes. It's either that or "ha".

It's kind of funny that more than one person has mentioned not liking words that express laughter online. What do y'all prefer? LOL? haha? hardyharhar? :D
