I just felt like I needed to share this, my heart is about to explode with joy right now, and I just need to share this to the world. :)
Today, after praying for over a year, after a lot of arguments because of my faith, my parents accepted Jesus into their hearts and became citizens of Heaven. :D Praise God!

Anyway, I just wanted to share, if you want more details feel free to ask :) . God is just AWESOME! God bless you all.

Ok this is the story, sorry if it’s too long, I always try to make it short but I fail haha writing helps me vent my emotions :) :


My relationship with my mom has always been horrible, I believe she would be diagnosed with a Bipolar Disorder if she went to a doctor, so needless to say…sometimes it isn't easy to be around her. As I hit my teenage years, problems started to arise. She would fight with me because she didn’t like my friends even if they were nice, or because she would think that I was dating someone secretly (and I wasn’t), or because she thought I was doing something bad when I went out with my friends. Anyway, when a christian friend started to invite me to her church my beliefs slowly started to change...and at first my mom wouldn’t say anything about me going and then some days she wouldn’t like it. I think she started to dislike it more when she saw that I was slowly leaving my catholicism( all my family is catholic, or…was), although I was never a member of my friend’s church, I just went there once in a while. One day she just forbid me to go, and at the same time I was distracted with my life, so I didn’t go anymore.

When I came into the States on Nov 2010, at first I wasn’t looking for God, I was looking for a way to continue with my old life, maybe find friends with whom I could go to parties again, drink, go clubbing,etc (btw in Mexico you can drink at age 18, but you can actually start doing it at 15-16) so the first months my mom didn’t have to deal with me trying to change religions again , she probably thought ‘’wheeew ¡’’haha. When I gave my life to Christ about on May last year after realizing that nothing but God could fill the void in my heart, the desire to attend a Bible-based church started to grow, but I hadn’t told my parents about the conversion that had happened in my heart.

For about 2 months I didn’t tell my family,and when I finally did my mom insulted me, she called me a traitor, she called christianity ‘’ a sect’’, and she told me that neither she or the rest of the family would support me on my faith, among other things. With this in mind, asking them to take me to church didn’t look like a good idea hahaha, and the fact that I didn’t have a car of my own and I didnt know about any church nearby didn’t help. I read bible verses to my mom whenever I saw she was calm and when I saw an opportunity to reach to her. Sometimes it would end up well and sometimes she would say ‘’ok stop bothering me with that’’ or ‘’I have my beliefs and I’m not gonna change them’’ . Over the time she accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to change my mind, she still didn’t like it though. One day, like 2 months ago, she had an emotional crisis and was crying ,in that moment I just felt like I should say something. So I told her again about Jesus .....and although she didn’t say anything I’m sure she listened to what I said, her reaction was different this time....

Two months ago I moved to another city, now it was just me and my parents and my 2 brothers moved to live by their own. As soon as I moved I started looking for a church, I had set into my mind that if my parents weren't going to help me I would do it by myself because there were really no excuses for me. Gladly, my dad agreed to take me to church one time to ask for information( he is more open-minded). I told my mom about it, and I told them that I was going, that it was nearby and I could easily take the bus...and to my surpise my mom said ok, we will take you and you go there while we go to the catholic mass. The funny thing is that the first day I went to church, when they were dropping me off...my mom changed her mind , and she and my dad accompanied me haha.

Since then, they had been going to church with me almost every sunday :) and today.....well today they finally received the Lord. What the pastor said today just touched them, he was talking about faith (Gal 3) and Jesus' sacrifice, and then he read this verse: ''Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."(Acts 16) That verse reminded how merciful God is, how true his Word is....
I know it's not going to be suddenly perfect but I trust that the Lord will help them grow spiritually. The way the Lord has answered to my prayers is just WOW, I had been praying for them all this time, and I will keep doing it.....God is so great.:D Now it's time to reach my brothers and grandparents.....and everyone haha ;) God let your name be glorified...

'Believe' is such a powerful word. When I am leading someone to Christ, I most often refer to John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Way to go, girl, way to go , just a great inspiration you are to so many now for what must be a quiet countenance or, maybe loud, whatever it is, loud or quiet disposition,it is convincing, as the Holy Spirit inside you is doing this work. Let your parents now know about the Holy Spirit being the one that brought softness to their hearts , maybe , as a family you might want to get baptized together , kayM. The Lord leads, that is awesome work by you through Him :)
I pray your brothers and others see your beautiful transformation , letting they too know that church would be a great place to go with your mom, dad, and, you to grow together as a family.

Well Karla, its great that you are all going to the same church now, but even if they were catholic before they should have already known Jesus, but alas many catholics do not pay too much attention to the bible and get caught up in the religious aspect instead so I think I understand where you are coming from. I believe what it says in John 3:16, that God sacrificed His only son so that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life.

That's SO AWESOME, Kayem!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):). I know that their lack of faith was weighing heavily on you, but The Holy Spirit got a hold of them, for sure! :)

I'm not one bit surprised that God used you to help plant those seeds before that day. I know I've said similar things before, and probably will again, but I'm still just amazed at the level of maturity I've see in you. It's like you've been doing this for years, yet it has been less than a year? Wow. I know I'm not the only one to notice that. To God be the glory, of course, but He let you play a role in there. :)
I think it's great that you are being realistic too and know things aren't going to just be all perfect now. After all, we're still imperfect people.
Anyways, this is the best thing I've heard in a while. :)

I am soooooooo glad you brought this up! :) The maturity and wisdom that shows in Karla's posts is amazing. God has done such a tremendous work in her life.

And I totally agree with Snackersmom..this is just the beginning! :D
 
Awww you guys are awesome, thank you for your responses! NiceguyJ you are always very very nice haha that was a good choice for a nickname :) It was all the Lord,only the Lord, ans it's still the Lord's work....

To be honest yesterday I let myself feel discouraged because I felt like my mom didn't actually get it...but I know that it will take a while for her to learn and especially since she has been having some issues with herself for LOOOOOONG time.Her change from forbidding me to go to church to now proclaim to be christian is BIG, and her wanting to go to church today is just great :). I need to focus on God and be patient, and I trust the Lord will continue what he has started in her, and all of us.

Again, thank you so much for your encouragement, you made me smile :'). As Snackers said, it's time to also bring my grandparents,brothers,uncles,aunts, nephews, and everybody out there to the Lord hahahah :D. God bless you all! <3

Don't be discouraged. God can certainly complete any work that He begins. :) So just keep on doing what you're doing! Trust Him.

Well, I was; as I read the responses from everyone else, the tears stopped, but I'm still very, very happy :):):):):):):):):):):):)!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with Jay and Jullianna; your posts have really changed from when you first joined this site, though I haven't seen all of them, by any means. It makes me smile partly because although church can be great,Jesus is who we really need to lean on and trust, and you have shown evidence that He can help us grow if we just ask and allow Him to, whether we are able to attend church or not :).

YES! God KNEW that I was in need of my sister turning her life around IF I was ever to be able to get into a thinking mode of doing what I felt I could do, and, I PRAYED heavily because it was on my heart all the time and God brought her a baby in the midst of a drug relationship and it CHANGED everything, and, yes, I pray for God to do work through His Holy Spirit inside this temple of mine, I treat HS as a best friend, just like my 4 good buddies I had growing up

Yes, kayM, keep praying with the power of the Holy Spirit, and, God will work through your consternation and faith prayers. Put your family, and, friends, and, whoever else, maybe even, enemies, in your prayers daily and keep reminding yourself of them as the Lord leads, whenever He leads, pray for them. Who knows what miracles can be achieved when you believe :) Psss, secret: He knows. :)

Yes, Jilly, kayM, has grown more and more, she was with God when she started on c.c. but her faith and maturity and insight has shown on here more and more. Awesome to see. Indeed :)

And, that's all the Andre Crouch I gonna type :D But, yes, lean on God, trust not in your own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. And, that direction will be exactly the right way. :)
