This post is more for the single women, and what they think a good christian man should be like, but I suppose guys could give their input too. :)
I'm not looking for a wife yet, but I want to know what women want in a man...

Honest~
People can always trust him, because he will never be deceitful in his actions, or his words.
Compassionate~
He is quick to forgive and slow to judge. He listens to all sides of the story, before making the decision that is best for everyone.
Respectful~
He is respectful to his wife/ girlfriend's parents, other priesthood heads, and elderly people. He respects her beliefs, morals and opinions.
Loyal~
He won't lust after other women. He goes about his business without getting his desires confused with Gods designs. He is always trying to do better, and is always open to learning more truth.
Loving~
He knows what to say and when to say it. He knows what to do and how to do it. He knows his woman's needs, and tries to meet each of them to the best of his ability and knowledge.
He loves God more than her, but still treats her like a princess.
Understanding~
He knows when to hold her and tell her he loves her, or to be stern and serious with her. He knows when to cry with her, or to be strong for her. He knows how to bring her to my feet when she falls. When he disagrees with her, they discuss it without harshness.
Good Family Man~
He knows how to make people laugh. He loves children, and her.He knows how to teach and learn from his family. He knows how to give consequences, and make them effective, not destructive.
...
Women don't necessarily need their man to be absalutly perfect. He can have downfalls of his own, just like a woman can.
But the things I listed, are the ones I think are the most important.

I believe the first trace of a Christian Man Should Have, is an intimacy with God, and we know Distinguish, for conversations and the fruits of his life .. Sorry, my English is bad, because I'm Brazilian ... The Peace of the Lord Jesus
Ah .. we must not forget that a good Christian man dreams of having a family restored and serving God with love. : D

I agree with everything but the princess part. :) I want a man who will consider me his helpmate/best friend/lover all in one, not his princess. I want him to understand that I'll be there for him because I know there are times when he may need to lean on me as well.

Wise beyond your years you are, BlueAngel :D

Well if your askin women for the sake of hearing their opinions, that's great. But if your asking them to get a model for yourself then I would say that's not such a good idea.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Qualities that both men and women should strive to have, and really should be your mirror. Not others opnions on what it should be.

The fruits of the Spirit are most definitely what we should ALL be reflecting, but most people understand that the scriptures do require more than just these things of a spouse. Funny thing though, if you read carefully what BlueAngel wrote, you can see many of these qualities listed in different ways.

Oh yeah definitely. Being a Christian these values are for sure apart of our hearts and will be expressed in one way or another without a conscience effort to do so. And its good to get others perspective on each trait. I was just making sure he wasn't striving for the traits because he heard a women say it, but rather striving for the trait because the bible does.
Women have that kinda power ya know ;)

I got everything I have there, from the scriptures. :)
And if a man's gonna treat me like his princess, he'll know that his princess is a little different from the fairy tale princess's. I have problems too. ;) Perfect, I am not.
But, a TRUE princess is there for everyone, not just her "knight in shining armor". It's not the blood that makes a princess, it's the attitude. :)

If by scripture and if by the word “princess” you mean being part of the Bride of the Prince of Peace/daughter of the King, I would agree; however, it is most definitely only by the blood we can become one. J We also need to remember that in this context, men are not excluded. They are the beloved Bride as well, and, as weird as that may sound (as well as sons of the King), they would deserve the royal treatment as well, would they not? J

As for attitude, I probably have far more than my share. Hahaha :D

Men Only, Not Boys - No Greater Joy Ministries I havent read the entire article yet, but I love this web site. I read the book "Created To Be His Help Meet" by debi pearl which has really helped me. Maybe this article where Michael is answering someone's question can also help you if you read far enough.

Many say each person should give 50/50 but for a marriage to really work, I believe it must be 100/100 or more. Take your time and look for a good Christian woman. Wait until you know that God has placed the right woman before you to marry. If you have the right woman and you do everything that you can to make her happy, you should see that she will want to do everything she can to make you happy also.

SpaceCowboy: Women and men both do tend to take on a spirit of goofiness from time to time due to the effects of the opposite sex :)

Carmy: Spot on :)

She is isn't she? :D Way to go sister.
In my opinion, that's pretty much what a princess is... not just for her "Knight in Shining Armor" but for everyone. That, like Little Blue said, is a TRUE princess. :P

Well, I'm kinda new at this christian thing, so I wanted to know how women in general would like a man to be... Is also why I wanted mens opinions too. :D
So, in a way... I am getting a model for myself. :)

Julianna:
That's pretty much what she meant, the whole "daughter to God thing". She means that in being a daughter of God (who is King, by the way), she is a princess, and expects to be treated as such. On the subject of a man being treated like a prince. Little Blue fully intends on doing just that...
She's my cousin, if you're wondering how I know all this. She was just talking to me over the phone. ;)
She's also one of the MANY people who helped me become christian. She also directed me to this site. Thanks Blue, you really are an angel. ;)

I figured that's where she was coming from. :D Welcome to CC

Interesting and...curious post...
