so. i'm bored. and i just feel like making a thread. so i just thought i'd tell you a cute story from my experience in bible college a few years back.
we had a teacher that liked to use demonstrations of principles to teach us. including having us all act out the life of King David in play form.
For one object lesson though, he played a game. there were two teams. a girl team and a guy team. the goal of the game was as follows. one person carries the other of the same gender (on each team) on piggy back around half of this enormous auditorium where our class met. the carried person had to hold a cup of water in their hand and try not to spill it too much. halfway across the auditorium, they were to switch, and the other person carries the rest of the way and the other holds the water cup. the team that reached the podium with the most water, within the allotted timeframe, won. and one other element to the game? the person carrying the other had to repeatedly shout a phrase while they ran: "loved and a lover, i win! loved and a lover, i win!"
the principle lesson is as follows: if we run our race in Messiah knowing that we are loved by God and are a lover of God, then no matter how long it takes us to reach the podium, we win. and those with a full cup of the Spirit or at least.... not empty...will surely be declared winners in the coming Kingdom.
i wanted to share this story because from time to time i sit here and i remember that phrase and that image in my head. of four young adults running, grunting, spilling water and yelling 'loved and a lover i win!'
and it rings true.
therefore. wherever you are today, whatever you're doing. whatever goals you have succeeded at and whatever goals you have yet to achieve. know this. you are beloved of God and if you are striving to walk in obedience (God's love language :he that loves me keeps my commandments ) then you are a lover of God. and YOU WIN!!!!!
LOVED AND A LOVER YOU WIN!!!
