Viola, I'm so glad you mentioned college kids. They have really been on my heart of late. I remember being in college..the respect I had for my professors, etc. When they told me something, I accepted it as factual without researching it on my own. Dangerous thing that. As life goes on and my studies of the Word have deepened, I realize just how much of what they told me was nothing more than their own imaginings, understandings and ponderings. Question EVERYTHING.
 
I feel strongly about..
Home - i miss it and aim to get back there
My Family- bunch of crazies but great
My Friends- slightly less crazy than family (possibly)
Kids- love them and love being a leader to them!
A21-doing amazing work but so much more to do.
My Ponies- they are so much more than a business
Music- not just Christian, I just really love music
Painting- mainly watercolours, mainly landscapes
Reading- I like reading, always have
Kayaking-white water is great
My birthday-I may be turning 23 but I really want to go tubing!!!!
Jollyphonics-stupid system, hate it. think it has many many flaws.

probably some other stuff but I forget atm
 
I feel strongly about marriage equality for all people regardless of gender.

We had a visiting Pastor from America called Joel Holm visit our church and it really stumped us that people have heard of us and what had happened. Comparatively to what happened at Fukushima we feel like a blot on the earth most of the time.

Everybody I know, knows I hate Taco Bell, but I was afraid to say it to a room of mainly Americans.
Taco Bell is a disgrace to America and in my opinion Mexican/Latin immigrants should prosecute them for discrimination against their beautiful and delicious food culture which Taco Bell fails miserably to represent!
Especially to tourists from New Zealand who have zero mexican food here and really wanted to try something mexican the minute she was on American soil and was grossly disappointed!!

Mindyou, in America's defence I was in Seattle at the time and that is nowhere near Mexico, so you Americans who live near the Mexico border better have some decent mexican food ready for when I come back!! Lol

Oh yes it was big news here. You might not believe this but I actually was worried about you because I remember that you were from there (Christchurch).

I am just adding to my list.... the thing I feel most strongly about right now is that God is love. I keep saying it. the reason for that is because people keep needing to hear it and be reminded of it!(i don't mean this thread btw, i mean in general)

I'm going to just reply that in this case, I would say balance. I agree, we do need to teach the love of God. Especially since there are so many churches out there that leave people out there feeling that there is no hope for them. That if they don't do certain things or say certain things, that they can never be saved, or will loose their salvation. But at the same time, we need to make sure that people realize that they do need a savior. It's fine to teach that God loves you, but if we don't teach people what sin is, that they are sinners bound for Hell if they don't accept Christ as Savior, then teaching about God's love is for nothing. So I guess when I say balance, I mean the whole Counsel of God. Not just one aspect. Also, Leelee, I realize you probably meant the love of God for a specific reason. You probably come across many people who like God absolutely hates them.
 
I meant that if people realised how much God loves them they might manage to be a bit nicer to each other! I really worry that new or unsure Christians on this site (and in real life) are not getting encouraged, there are too many people just waiting to condemn anyone they think they can and it is so not about that!
We should embody love! We should have so much of it its spilling out all over the place!

Sorry that was a minor rant there. I have been somewhat frustrated over the way people talk to each other in the last few days.

I live in South California and believe me, mexican food here is still very different form authentic mexican food :) although is not bad all the time, I must say some restaurants are very good!...you also have to take in mind that Mexico is kind of big and the food from the North isn't the same to the food from the South and so on.

I felt like I had to say this due to my Mexican nature :D end of rant.

I have to really agree with you there. Sorry, I thought you were talking more about the judgmental attitudes some churches and Christians have.

CC, I have never eaten food from Taco Bell (there are not tacos bell in Mexico), but i can invite you some real mexican tacos if you come where i live :D

I volunteer to travel to foreign countries and help to find the child, set up contacts with foreign police and get the kids back. There is a lot of paperwork on our side to do but it is worth the effort.
Most of the kidnappers have a long history of breaking the law and do have warrants and are wanted by interpol.

That is very nice Riffs, where i live , we have been suffering from that kind of violence and it has increased a lot in the last few years.

For believers it is better to have the wisdom and knowledge of God by building ourselves up with sound doctrine. Through the word filling up the rooms of our soul we can be discerning and allow the Holy Spirit to quicken us according to every word of God we have hid in our heart. In learning and being taught the word, it is not only the highest form of worship but the highest form of education and one that will never pass away (Mt 24:35).

Mexican culture and food is such a novelty over here. We're a lot like the UK in that we have lots of Indian, Middle Eastern and East Asian food here but no South or Central American food and since the big earthquake all our decent European eateries have moved or been destroyed. So we're stuck here eating fish and chips and butter chicken.
So when my husband and I traveled from Vancouver over the US border to Seattle I was expecting Mexicans to jump out from trees to give me some good food but all I saw was a Taco Bell (didn't see a single mexican so I asked where they were and one strange bloke said to me "Theyre down south mowing everyone elses lawn" which I thought was a bit racist). And the only thing I learnt from Taco Bell was that they seemed to think that refried beans that resembled cat vomit was both tasty and nutricious along with a "small" gallon of coke not even a giant could drink through. Weird country.. LOL.. Looking forward to going back..
