The importance of communication....
Why can't people just say what they mean and mean what they say?
I could never be with someone who I can't truly communicate with. If I had to constantly try to read between the lines or find some hidden meaning, I'd just forget it. Drop the silly head games and tell me what you really think. I'll die single before I take anything less than that.
The ladies I've gotten along with best have always been the type that, like me, drop the whole man vs. woman thing and they're just honest and real.
Well, why didn't you just say that to begin with!?That's the whole point of this threadTo help us all realize how silly it is.
__________-______
I think that a comment like in bold said by the guy should be saved for deeeeep into the relationship.
That is a awkward comment in a first date, for certain, and, I would reserve that comment for 'never' myself in that exact form.
Now, here if, guys, you want away to deepen a relationship after, Lord leading, time is right:
Guy says: You are a precious girl of the Lord.
Girl thinks: I want to marry you.
My thought on that, julieannie, since you said you had a guy you went out with say that 'You are a precious sister of the Lord' comment to you ,and, the guy you said was saying it to you as serious affection to you. That just SCREAMS! creepy to me .
__________-
Vkat, it all depends on the time the guy says it.
If he says your 'precious girl of the Lord' on the first date, it is just reading too much into things, I think. I see NO reason that a guy would say something like that so soon unless..... well, I won't go there. And, yes, I KNOW, and, ladies will surely vouch for this, I think, since I don't truly know because I am not a girl , but, yeah, girls, you will say you have probably heard some AMAZING line from a guy but it comes way toooo early in the relationship and creeps the living daylights out of you.
__________
I think, as I said, the Lord leads the timing for a guy to say something 'precious' and it should be way into the getting to know you time, like maybe right BEFORE he were to give you an engagement ring.
that would make it OK, and, that pretty much puts into context the magnitude of saying the 'precious' quote to a girl, guys . Dont' say that unless you are SERIOUS-SERIOUS about a girl because it will astronomically adVANCE the relationship to a place that the Lord probably (I can't speak for Him) does not want you to go early on in the relationship/friendship stage .

By the way, I want to make it CLEAR that I didn't intentionally put a mad meanie face in the re: block of one of my previous posts in this thread.I must have hit some key combo by mistake. I know how to put something like that in the body of a post, but I don't know how it got on there like it did. I even went back to the beginning to see if it was on any of my other posts.
And I sure wouldn't post one in a response to niceguyjHe's one of the good guys!
You make some great points there!I think many people try to say what they mean. And they think they are saying what they mean. But they can't always get inside someone else's head and tell how that person is going to interpret it ahead of time. And likewise for we can't always tell how someone meant for something to sound.
In all reality, different people speak different "languages" sometimes. That is what determines whether we "click" with certain people but not with others. you just "get" each other without having to do a lot of the guess work and games.
Of course I'm not talking about basic interactions, but the more subtle sides of socializing.
FRIEND ZONE ALERT!! FRIEND ZONE ALERT!! --- NiceguyJ, please take your belongings and hopes and move to section H8... The Friend Zone!!
