You can generally get the gist of what I'm going to ask here, I know we are not to rely on people etc. But I know God made us to be friends and to support each other and stuff. However, I'm friends with a group of the youths at my church, however, alot of the time they go out and forget about me, and if I text them, they ignore me as if to hide they are out and this gets me really down and though I know God is always with me, I often feel alone, like I don't have any brothers or sisters in Christ that I can support and be supported by. I continually pray that God will provide me friends as described in Job, that they would be that supportive that they would come and sit with me 3 days in silence, and that they would keep me challenged in the word and in my day to day living of the word

my question is..What should I do?? Do I just single myself and only talk with them at youth group? Or do I continue to fight for the friendships and pray that there will be change?

Don't do a thing.
I just finished telling my son tonight, that true friendship/love is recognized by how easy it comes. All of a sudden it's just there. You don't have to work very hard at recieving it, it just meshes when it's real! Would you want these same youth to all of a sudden include you, when they havent really cared so far? Won't that feel almost, like their pitying you?
Your worth sooo much more than trying to fit in where your not wanted. Their fruit sounds questionable anyways, the way they are treating you. Keep yourself confident, and always be friendly yourself, the right group of friends are just around the corner. Ask God to send them.
Be encouraged son. :)

Alot of the issue comes down from previous insecurities, I never had friends in school, and the ones I did came and went all the time, so i've never had the security, and it was one of the reasons i became depressed and self-harmed, praise God He salvaged me from that state, but its like, I keep feeling that, once I sort out my relationship with God, then my earthly relationships will follow, but its like I feel that unhappy with my earthly relationships that I'm beginning to seek them out more than I am time with God, and it feels like the Chicken and the Egg arguement, well if the earthly ones were fine, then I could sort my heavenly relations out, but then if i sort the heavenly ones out then the earthly ones would follow, its so confusing haha

I'd say God, more so lately because I've felt I've needed someone, and He's always there and I'm coming to realize that and that He does wanna spend time with me

Well you sound like your doing just fine!
Continue to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things will be added unto you" (MAtt 6:33)

Of course it's normal to want friends....we were created for relationships!

I've found that's it better to have one, maybe two, close friends. Too many become just acquaintances. Also, the harder you try to MAKE people like you, the further they'll push you away.

So just be yourself, open to new friendships, accepting of those that don't pursue friendship with you...and foremost build on your relationship with God.

Seek Him FIRST, and the other things are added as 'perks' :)

I bet there's other guys like yourself, looking for friendship...strike up a conversation with them :)

I kinda feel trapped at times - cause i came into christianity with no friends, and my youth group is very small, its around 10 people? and only like 4 of them are my age, 18-21, but the rest are like 14-16, so its like, if I ain't friends with the ones my age I worry about being alone, and so its kinda why I came on here, cause instead of looking to unsaved people as friends, nothing wrong with that, we are in the world but not of this world, but I need that spiritual friendship, cause as you say, we have desire for relationships. and they dont really wanna discuss the word when i bring it up, cause they all come from christian backgrounds and i know that they enjoy dipping into the world's behaviour

Yes, being in a youth group isn't a guarantee of finding Christian friends, unfortunately.

You can always visit other churches.

Also, some colleges have Christian groups that allow non-students to participate. These generally have more serious Christians...probably because no one is 'making' them go.

Many campuses have a Campus Crusade for Christ, or a Baptist Student Union...and there are several others.

Don't give up :)

thing is over here, colleges aren't same as in America, colleges are rather small scale, where very little extra is offered to students except say gym access... but Universities are much like your college, where you have christian student unions etc etc, and where I'm located, it'd be too expensive to travel to a uni haha. but I'm keeping my head up :) God will open doors when it is His timing :)

Just be yourself and do not let them tell you what to do if it is bad. God will use you in such a way if that is your desire and if you ask Him to give you an opportunity. It says in the Bible to be different and not part of the world. Also, just pray for your friends who aren't as strong. I can relate cause I'm stronger in my relationship than my other friends and I just share God as much as possible. I'm not afraid to share my faith. You can be the leader and not the follower. But first, you gotta let God lead your life before you can be a leader for your friends. All you can do is be an example of Christ and pray for them..
In the meantime, ask the Lord to give you wisdom as to where and how to "find" these friends! Join or start a Bible study, go to youth group on the weekdays! Go to places where these people hang out, even if it is uncomfortable at first! Remember also to "love your neighbor as yourself."I hope u find a true christian friends there..God bless.

1 John 5:14-15 says, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us- whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him." Matthew 7:7-12 also talks about asking, seeking, and knocking!

There has to be come Christian community near you somewhere...I'll pray that the Lord leads you to them!

Also, if you want bible discussions, here is a good place to have them. Posting them in a room other that the Bible Discussion Room might be helpful... there's some hardcore debators there who can make talking about the bible unpleasant.

Ah...the Scottish accent...I love listening to you guys talk :)

By the way...nice signature...I love that song and that line just sticks in your mind doesn't it?

I would go to another church. a church is supposed to accept you and make you feel welcome. its a body, not JUST a place to go to worship God. if you're being rejected by the body its time to find a new one.

I wouldn't put THAT much effort to be with people who don't want to be with me. its not worth it and its only going to make your feel worse as a person because you can feel that they don't really want to be around you, they're just putting up with you. Friends are people who when they see something kool or funny the first thing they wanna do is call and tell or show you what just happened, someone who wants to share their happiness and smiles with you, and good friends will even go as far as being rejected by you to make sure you stay in the path thats holy. ^_^

:) :) :) You are so special bro. It's a battle that you MUST fight in the Mighty name of Jesus. As a Christian, you should understand more your environment, what you see, what you hear, what you feel... they may build walls for you to worship God or for worse, you'll be discouraged... Worship has nothing to do with the people you encounter each day whether in church, school, etc... it's all about HIM... God bless your heart!!! :)
