Hey married folks :)

I like to ask a lot of couples this question.
All these singles searching almost desperately to find that special someone to head into our territory......so, if you could do it all over again(with the same person), would you?

Guess my answer.

yes and I would recommend marriage to anyone who would ask despite my less than stellar previous experience with it. The key is to really get to know the person, not just know them on a largely superficial level before marriage.

I'm currently going through a marriage breakdown, so I can relate to a 'less than stellar' experience with it also.

However, I honestly believe that marriage as God instituted it to be, is a wonderful, enriching thing. I know many couples who have an incredible marriage, who are truly in love with God and each other, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I have no idea what God has in store for me from this point on, but I'm trusting in Him to lead me, and if marriage is on the cards in my future, I'm certainly open to that possibility.

I have learnt a lot from my present experience (and the last 7 years of marriage) and I now understand things with a new perspective.

I would do it all over again and wish I could. I love my wife but after 10 years she says she's not in love with me anymore. She just went through a life changing experience and I think that this is where I don't love you anymore is coming from. I don't believe she's seeking God in this and the enemy has been working on her pretty bad for 3 years. Not shure where this is going to go but I haven't searched God so fervently like I am now in a long time so maybe he's just allowing this to get both of our attentions. Can always use prayer and support in this matter so this is my phone a friend!

Absolutely.

Although if I had to do the wedding part all over again, I'm not sure that I would. Being married is pretty great, though.

I've learned some incredible spiritual lessons from being married. Though many trials have come through it, If given the chance to do it again?........I'd say, in a heartbeat!
When god is in the midst, marriage is wonderful. :)

I am engaged to be married 1st Sept so I kinda don't qualify to comment except that...Weddings are expensive and stressful to arrange! I am marrying my best friend who I would marry again BUT eloping is a much much much more attractive option now! lol

A year later and I still get stressed when I think about the wedding.

How many years have to pass before I simply remember it fondly? lol

I'm not married now, but I would marry him again in a heartbeat...if only that were possible.

Yes and amen!
For not only is the gift of marraige given, but how wonderful is it that God compares marraige, to the relationship we all have with Him in Jesus!

God bless

Oh my!! IRELAND!!! Where my family originate from!!
My great, great, great (think that's how many) came from Donegal. I would LOVE to go there, one day, when we have $$.

Hi,

My first husband - yes but sadly he passed away too soon.
My second? No. I decided to do God's work and chose a spouse that has made my life miserable.
Advice to singles... Don't be hasty. Pray & pray & pray that it's God's will and not yours - you will save yourself alot of heartache.

I am afraid I am not sure of my answer at this time. I am having a hard time now with my marriage, I love him, but he does not believe in God or Jesus at allllll. Material things are most important to him and his daughter, who still lives at home with us. I feel if I had know all this before we got married, I most likely would not have done it. I am torn.

We need some marriage revival in this generation. I'm feeling it for real. It was the only thing in creation that God said it is not good.... For man to be alone and it seems more couples even though there not alone they are lonely. It's just sad.

Yes I would!!! We have been blessed.
We have had our share of trials, but it all has been worth it.
(Almost 25yrs)
I'm sorry to hear some of you who had wedding day issues...
We kept ours simple and sweet...we were relaxed and happy!
So my advice is focus on who you are going to marry...
not how you will get married.
And your wedding day will be one to remember!

My answer is YES! In a New York Minute. My husband of 32 years is the most amazingly wonderful man I've ever known, and e-v-e-r-y day I wonder why I have the honor of being his wife. <3

Like anyone, we've had our share of ups and downs, and learned love is a choice you make more than a feeling. But when I consistently make that choice, the feeling of love grows. :)

*deep breath*...okay now to take the plunge...I dearly hope I don't offend anyone!
I was married very young and it ended in divorce. Suffice it to say my first husband "missed dating". We did the big church wedding/reception.
When the marriage ended, I thought I'd be alone forever. At nineteen.

Then I met my DH, and God, and everything changed! We eloped (how I wish Gretna Green had been an option!! lol) and I can't recommend a better, stress free way to begin a marriage. I'm always amazed to hear about young people spending on one day what you could almost buy a house for. (I don't mean to denigrate that choice; I just couldn't make it myself.)

I agree marriage in general is at risk in our society. I heard someone say that one must go into marriage knowing divorce is NOT an option, because as soon as you allow it to be one, it will become reality sooner or later. Of course, BOTH parties must take that stand, and keep it. Not easy these days. I feel for people who are beginning "wedded bliss" now. (my daughter's wedding is three weeks away!)

Those of you who are in trouble in your marriage, know I am praying for you. I keep a little notebook with my Bible, and I won't forget you!

Sorry so long! Thanks for posting the question.
