NJ Mom Denies Charges of Child Endangerment

First, the girl is red haired. And from what I know about red heads, they are more likely to get burnt. Second, it's very easy to get burnt outside, even if your out there for only 15 to 30 min, depending on the sun's intensity.

Now, as for whether or not the little girl was in the tanning booth or not, that is another story. We really can't assume one way or another, although we all probably have feelings one way or another. But the real question is, why didn't she just leave the girl at a babysitter instead of taking her to the tanning salon?
 
lol, the fact this even made the news makes me chuckle a bit. But the stor sounds legit from the parents, and i think some people are just over-reacting mainly the teacher.

violakat, I agree. As a redhead myself, I find it very difficult to believe that the parent of a redhaired child would ever put the child in a tanning bed. Surely by the time the child is the age of this little girl, the parents would surely know how sensitive her skin is.
 
seriously some people have too much time on their hands.

I totally agree, AnandaHya. I can't watch those shows. I don't like the Dance Moms shows either. I feel so badly for those kids. :(
 
I don't get it at all. Children are meant to be placed outside and told not to be run over and to refrain from poking each other's eyes out with rocks and sticks. Other than that, have fun.
 
That last little girl looks like she has the head of a 25 yr. old!

Regarding the mom and the tanning salon...I hope they take the daughter away for her own protection!! I mean just look at the mother. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with that woman.
 
The bottom one is the most disturbing to me. It looks like someone put an adult head on a kid's body.

Its true that red-heads burn easily, but I think it would have to be pretty bad for other kids to be asking what happened to her and for the teacher to be concerned about it.
 
Even more disturbing is her mom. That woman looks like someone covered her face with a deflated football.

I received a sunburn so severe while visiting Sea World in CA one afternoon that several layers of skin on my nose peeled away (my nose actually turned dark brown; ugliest thing ever; and my eyes were swollen shut), and that was as adult. For a redhaired child that young, it can quickly become severe. :(
 
I can't understand how that mom isn't already dead from skin cancer. She said she's been tanning for 10 years! It looks like she hasn't skipped a day either!
 
When I saw that lady's picture and the tanning obsession, it honestly reminded me of a bulimic person who doesn't seem to see themselves as others do and goes to extremes.

I've seen "white" people at the pool with tans even darker than her :eek:
