Man, I just don't think I would really be ok with that. Here is my take on the REALITY of something like having a "committed" we are really together but we don't get anytime together in the flesh.
1) I would always be thinking, if it where not for the internet we would have never meet.
2) Cheating is a stark truth even when you see the person every single day.
3) They could be stringing you along for various reason, ego, cruel, dishonest motives, bragging to their freinds how they got you duped.
4) You might not even be seeing the real person ie: They could be posting pictures of their friends and it's not really them.
Like for instance:
There is this woman on myspace that I absolutely love chatting with, but she will not post a picture of what she looks like. I have asked her over and over to post some pictures on her myspace, but she doesn't.
This is the reason she is telling me. She doesn't want to be "differently" or "special" due to her appearance.
She acts like she is a runway model and just cannot be doted over due to her magnificent appearance.
Yes, it is true, that the beautiful people of this world have easier lives. Period. Anyone that can not see that are just living in DENIAL. It aggravates me because I really like this womans mind and heart, but I really don't know who I am talking to....
So in summary, the ability to string someone along and or flat out lie to someone is very high online.
This fact is backed up with all the millions of online scams that are out there.
Sometimes I feel that should move all those scam sites to the extension .scam and get them all out of the search engines.
If it was up to me, In would have all those scam sites de-registered from their domains and penalize the persons that are scamming millions of dollars from the public.
So my answer, in fact is NO. I will not even consider remotely "a long distance relationship".
