Could you get along if your neighbor took your home? Same question
Who took whose home? The Lord gave at least some of Palestine to the Jews forever.

After World War II, it was apparent the Jews needed a safe place to live. It was decided Palestine would be their home. When they decided to start the country of Israel, Muslims in the area decided to start a war against Israel. Some Palestinians in Israel decided to leave Israel until the war was over. After the war was over, Israel did not let them return to their homes because they feared the Palestinians would try to cause them trouble, or that is my understanding.

Like asking cats and dogs to get along :D

Israel was a by-product of Western meddling in the Middle-East after both world wars (first as a colony, and finally as a state), and Jerusalem should have been a tripartite city-state.

So what we've got is a theocracy (because Israel is considered a Jewish State founded specifically for Jews) candy-coated as a democracy, that has grown through illegal settlement-expansions.

Both sides are equally guilty.

... and out poor Christians brothers and sisters are caught in the middle of the gunfire, escaping from the Holy Land in numbers. It belongs to us too.

A real messy situation.
This is an important issue to me. Is Israel really a theocracy, or are they a democracy as everyone says? If they are a democracy, and if the Palestinians living in Israel have equal rights, then I don’t see any reason for the Palestinians to complain.

On the other hand, it would seem to me wrong for the Israelis to take over the region and then deprive the Palestinians who were already living there of equal rights.

Could it be possible it is because Christians do not esteem Jews as a people and are known to steal from them. How can they possibly trust Christians with their background. It's so polluted in my opinion. Maybe I may sound to negative but history only tells the story.
But I don’t see how the Christians have much to do with this.

I guess it would be kind of like if the Brtis came back to the US and said it was their counry,
God gave the land to the Isrealites, but it did originally "belong to" someone else. Now the extreeme ones don't want the Isrealites to be there at all, and the extreeme isrealites don'f want anyone else there. .... thus it never ends.
I fear you are right.

The real battle is between Judaism and Islam, not Israelis and Arabs as the media would have you believe. It began when the Jews rejected Mohammad’s invitation to embrace Islam about 1400 years ago. Today this hatred against Jews comes from the fact that their existence in that land violates a promise by Mohammad that any land conquered in the name of Islam would never be regained by its earlier occupants. That’s the real reason why no efforts at forming two independent states, one Jewish and one Palestinian, will ever succeed. Israel cannot be permitted to dwell on land that was once claimed in the name of Islam.

YOU SAID: I don’t know a lot about Israel. Why can’t the Israelis and Palestinians live together under one democratic government?

There is no oil or any other valuable resources in the land of Israel. What makes it valuable is the fact that the land is believed to be Holy, because God actually dwelt inside the Temple that was built in Jerusalem.

The Palestinians want their own State with Jerusalem as their capital. They believe that Muhammad and his horse mind you ascended into heaven from the very spot where the Jewish temple once stood, which is why they built the Dome of the Rock Masq on that very spot.

To orthodox Jews, there is no way they can properly exist as a people in Israel unless they are in control of Jerusalem. They dream of one day rebuilding their temple, and practicing animal sacrifices once again as they were commanded to do by God so long ago. They can't do this as long as the Dome of the Rock stands.

Anyone have any solutions?.........
It sounds like this is all about pride. Pride is a sin. If they repented of their pride, they would have no problem.

I wonder if the best solution would be one truly democratic state called Israel.

The best solution is exactly what is happening. It's in Gods hands and that's exactly where we should all want it.

The Lord instructs us to do his will. We don’t sit idly by. On the other hand, I see no need to stick my nose where it isn't needed.

We can’t blame all our problems on yesterday. We have to work at solving them.

what suppression of truth?
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You could follow links to find information you probably aren't exposed to much.
But the links, and information, is disappearing.
And you get in trouble for even bringing it up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilan_Pappé

Before he left Israel in 2008, he had been condemned in the Knesset, Israel's parliament; a minister of education had called for him to be sacked; his photograph had appeared in a newspaper at the centre of a target; and he had received several death threats.[11]

Guess it depends on how much one loves the truth, wherever it leads.

As long as Israel continues to be a Jewish theocracy, disputed by Muslim fundamentalists, there will never be peace.

Well, the Jews had the land originally. Then they were exiled and the Palestinians ended up occupying their land. Then they were brought back into their land. Then there was a war and the Palestinians were exiled. Then the Palestinians were brought back into the land.

So the land has changed hands quite a few times. From a political point of view it's hard to say who it should belong to except that it simply belongs to Israel for now. If the United States and the others want to make the land change hands again, then they should speak to God on that matter. Or maybe the USA should consider giving the Native Americans back their land before they start telling Israel to give back land to the Palestinians.

Do Muslims living in Israel have equal rights?
Funny how no one answered this one.
Yes they can and do, as long as with any who live there, abide by the laws of the country.
I reciently saw a documentry showing how muslims, christians, Jewish, and many other faiths live peacefully there.
Some how this fact is rarely published.

God bless

I am not so sure of this.
from what I understand is that they claim to believe in the same God, that is God the Father, yet the God of Israel differs to the God in the Koran......
