Again, exposing a false doctrines and sharing truth is not judging. Christ Himself told us to do this.
To tell you the truth, you have your beliefs, I have mine and everyone else has their own. Lets leave it to that and live and let live. This entire thread is nothing but a bunch of nonsense and a complete waste of time and energy. Nobody has the right to judge anybody.

One thing I'd really love to point out, from all the page I have noticed a recurring trend, a few in fact....

1. I notice the Catholics are quoting scripture from the traditional protestant 66book canon, however not a single reference to these apparently 'inspired' and 'God-given' books in the 72 and 76 page Canon.

2. The Catholics also seem to avoiding the quote from Jesus Himself that states when told that His mother and brothers were looking for Him, He stated that everyone who loved God was His Mothers and Brothers.... hmmmm so does that mean every Christian/Catholic Mother must be held with the same divine status as Mary??

3. Also if praying to Mary was doctrinal or to be held in any divine status, why would Paul not have mentioned her in ANY of his letters? Even the works of John fail to make mention of this deity and her wonderful grace!

4. If you pray to Mary that she would remind Jesus of you, are you now saying, Jesus does not see all things? and are we saying the word is false when we are told by Jesus, that the only way to the Father is through Jesus? hmmmm

Now don't get me wrong, I am so thankful that Mary was obediant to the point of Mothering a child, even knowing that she was not married (as of that point) and that she was faithful to raise Him up the way He should go, however, Mary is no diety, she has no "honour" or "glory" due to her. She was simply a servant to God as we all are. She never once said she was special, she herself was a SERVANT OF CHRIST!

way I see it mate, is we are all here in the same boat trying worship Christ. People take different meanings from little things in the bible. Catholic church is VERY old. Hasnt changed much in two thousand years. But the bible, is the same (apart from those few extra books). Have to remember, Luther was the one who changed the church. Before that, everyone would have mostly been catholic.

If you worship Go, believe in the resurrection and crucifixion, and repent in Jesus and love your neighbour, that is what we are all here to do. I'm out now. This is gone on too long.

Look, you are all sterotyping. I've never seen a Catholic kneel to Mary. But after all, she was the Mother of God. In heaven, she would be a friend no???? So why not on Earth. You all take this too seriously and need to remember the basic teaching. Love. Friendship. Kindness. Hope. Joy.

what I have been saying all along. Make the world a better place instead of arguing constantly and putting venom into things. It makes me sick.
Dude you gotta be kidding me!!! I dare you to go here! in Philippines!!! And see for yourself!!

Indeed! I seem to remember the apostles saying not to bow down to them. Why? Because we are all part of the body of Christ. We do not raise people up based on their spiritual gifts or positions in the church. Instead we all work together to edify the body of Christ. Each person has a part to play in the body of Christ. Not everyone will do the same thing because not everyone can be the eye, the ear, the arm. If this was so, the body would not function. Similarly do we laud and esteem someone higher because of a particular spiritual gift? No! We support the saints because they go through the same persecution and difficulties in life. We worship no man or woman because all of our glory, honor, and praise goes to God.

Before that, everyone would have mostly been catholic.
Luther took the manuscripts that were brought out of Constantinople after the Muslims took over and realized how off the Latin Vulgate was in terms of spiritual teaching. So did he change the church? Yes.
However the Roman Catholic Church pretty much killed off all the saints that did not bow to their doctrine, so most people were Catholic because they had to be.
Now Martin Luther had his own issues, but he correctly identified some of the errors in the Catholic Church.

We are all in the same boat trying to worship Christ, yet we worship Him in spirit and in truth. If this truth is altered, it's no longer truth is it?
We are exhorted to be of the same mind and judgment with no divisions among us. Altered truth, and altered scriptures (spiritual meanings) are just one way Satan comes in the church and sows discord. Yes Satan's ministers come as ministers of light, and this means they "appear" Christian for all intents and purposes. However, if one little part is twisted away from the one doctrine given to us in the Word of God, it becomes a false doctrine. The Holy Spirit brings all interpretation, and when you have error, throw it out.

To tell you the truth, I do not believe anybody has any right to condemn others. RoboOp was guilty of wrongdointheg by condemning Catholics and to tell you the truth, this site along with the administration condones bigotry and hatred against Catholics and those who are not followers of Martin Luther's version of Christianity. It proves it because I have witnessed some users call Catholics names and the admins did not do jack squat about it but RoboOp has the nerve to post bigoted comments labeling Catholicism as "heresy" and push pin the thread to where it remains on top goes to show you that he supports bullying and harassment against Catholics since he was partaking in it. This is very sadistic. If I get banned for posting this then I don't care and it and the ban would be a form of retaliation.

This is what it looks like here

2. No conduct that is offensive (unless it is directed to Catholics or to non-protestants) or counterproductive to fellowship.

We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people (except if the offended person is Catholic or not protestant), whatever, then that person is not welcome.

This is how I feel about the attitude and mission of ChristianChat.com

I think this horse has been beat up way too much. I believe this thread needs to go to its grave and never be revived.

It seems to me that catholic doctrine is all based on tradition and ritual, rather that scripture

We try to welcome everyone to our site including people who grow up with Catholic tradition because of course we want to lead people to the truth.

But sometimes it's perceived that we tolerate error and heresy. Please understand first of all that we don't screen every thread and post in this forum. YOU can help with that. :) If there's something that you really think we should deal with, then use the Report button (there's a Report button on every post). But please understand that there will be some error and we don't remove all error or even all heresy from the site, partly because it's an opportunity for Christians to correct it and respond with the word of God. But if there's too much of it or too much from one person then we do some housecleaning. We certainly don't want our site to be dominated by Catholic heresy or whatever heresy or error, and we don't want people to get the impression that we just tolerate all of that.

So for the record, Catholicism is heresy. That's what the admins of this site believe.

Mary WAS A SINNER.

She needed a savior, just like you and me.

She is NOT the "mother of God". God has no mother, because God is God. Yes Jesus is God, and Mary was his mother, but we have to understand the dual nature of Jesus. He was 100% God yes, and also 100% man. Mary was his mother as a man, not as God. No where does the scripture refer to Mary as the "mother of God". And in fact, she's not even mentioned in all the epistles. All the New Testament instruction to the church is all about Jesus, not Mary. They never said "hail Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners". They always said JESUS .. JESUS... JESUS.

This is preaching to the choir for most people here. But it regularly happens that we start to accumulate Catholics here who really promote and argue their Catholicism, along with all the heresy.

So for the record, if anyone wants or needs to hear it, we don't agree with Catholic heresy. And yes it is heresy to exalt any other human being as sinless to the same level as Jesus (as the Catholics do with Mary -- they actually teach that Mary was sinless like Jesus!!!), and put equal focus on a person other than Jesus.

At the same time, we understand that no one is born a Christian. That's why Jesus said you must be born again. So we welcome all who are seeking -- Catholics, Muslims, homosexuals, and even protestants who are "Christian" only by tradition -- to experience our fellowship here on this site and learn the truth that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and no one can come to the father except through Him. And there is only one God, and one mediator between God, the man Christ Jesus. Because he was both 100% man and 100% God, that makes him the perfect mediator between man and God. That's why the scripture also tells us to go straight to Jesus -- go to the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that he can understand our weaknesses and everything, since he lived as a man like us (and even experienced all temptation). Hence we don't need Mary to go to or go through -- that defeats the purpose of Jesus.

I saw my mother-in-law die before my eyes putting her faith in Mary. Days before she died I asked her if Mary can save her and she actually said yes. Then in her dying moments, my father-in-law pushed me in front of her to pray for her as she was dying before our eyes. I simply prayed out loud in front of everyone that she would put her faith in Jesus, and ONLY JESUS. There was protesting in the background "wala na Maria? wala na Maria?", which is Filipino language for "No Mary?? No Marry??". You see how deceived they all are. It is sad. You see how the devil uses that poison to add something to Jesus.

So I hope it's clear what we believe and we hope that we can promote the truth here in love.
You do realize that the protestant denominations are also guiilty of heresy... including evangelicals. If you really studied the history of Christianity, you would realize that almost everything we do was derived from paganism. Read a book called "Pagan Christianity" by Frank Viola, it's a real eye opener.

What I am NOT saying is that there is no real christians, of course there is. But I am saying that we need to return to first century template to reawaken the real faith Jesus Christ brought to the world. The church isn't a building, programs, or service to somebody's little kingdom they are trying to build. And the only "house of God" is the actual flesh and blood bride of Christ... actual Christians. When we begin to function as such, she will manifest herself very powerfully and really begin to change lives. Living together in community, taking care of one another, serving one another and making sure they that have too much give to those that don't have enough, not to somepnes private little kingdom they are striving to build to compete with the other, so called, church down the street. If we have the Lord in us, we are all one body, the body of Christ.
