To tell you the truth, you have your beliefs, I have mine and everyone else has their own. Lets leave it to that and live and let live. This entire thread is nothing but a bunch of nonsense and a complete waste of time and energy. Nobody has the right to judge anybody.
I'm sorry if you've been offended.

Again, sharing truth is NOT judging. Please read the bible for God's description of what judging is.

About 25 years ago my mother would've responded the same way that you do. In fact, she was very aggressive with born again Christians who came to the door and pretty much slammed the door in their face and didn't want to know. She was a devout Catholic. Then one day God revealed Himself to her while she was in the kitchen listening to the testimony of an ex-nun. She had faith in what she was hearing (the truth) and saw herself as a sinner on the wrong path. She had a dramatic conversion while standing in her kitchen and God changed her instantly. She became born again and now reaches out to other Catholics in the same boat that she was in. Now some of them do the same thing she used to do... slamming the door in her face.

Again, I'm quoting what the bible says and what Christ Himself said. He's instructed us to share truth with the world. "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32)

We don't all have the truth here in this forum. If we did we would be "equally yoked" together and would be united and would share the same truth. There is only one gospel message and one truth, not several. The reason we are not equally yoked is because some of us are saved and others are not. Those that are saved have the truth and worship God in Spirit and in truth.

Why is what the bible says offensive? I am only quoting from it. The truth is only offensive to those who refuse to be open to it. Things never change. Mankind has always wanted to do things their own way, never God's way. They choose organized religion over a relationship because it fits in with their lifestyle. Sorry, but you can't do that. It's God's way, not man's way.

We've all been physically born (1st birth) but we are separated from God because of sin. We have to be born again (2nd birth). We then become new creatures in Christ. Only those born again are going to Heaven.

I'm really sorry but I can't lie. I've compared the teachings of the Catholic church and none of it agrees with scripture. I'm sorry, but it doesn't. Don't take my word for it, read for yourself. Catholicism stands in direct opposition to the New Testament Church which Christ established - He does not dwell in a temple made with human hands. Earth is His footstool. Christ does not have a kingdom on earth. The church are the people, that make up the body of Christ, not a physical church. I could go on and on. Until you read scripture you will never know. We've been instructed to search the scriptures and test the spirits to see if they are from God. We are to compare everything with the bible. Unfortunately most Catholics believe in Catholicism "because a pope has authority to interpret" - the pope will not be responsible for anyone on judgement day, only himself. Each person will be held accountable for their own actions and unwillingness to search or believe the truth. No one will be off the hook because "so-and-so deceived me".

Does it not make you wonder what so many of us see that you don't? We're getting this from God's word, scripture. Satan lurks in "Heavenly realms" - he is using religion to destroy people so that they stay on that broad road to destruction. Remember, he has a counterfeit church. "He transforms himself into a holy angel of light", is a "liar" and "deceiver", a lover of gold and pearls/wealthy/rich things. He has a church here on earth and it will match his very characteristics, as will the "leader" of it. It will not be obvious to "those in the world" because to be deceived you don't know it, but to those who have the wisdom of God (from being born again) we are able to discern such things. Satan's church is one of the biggest deceptions ever and it will be revealed in due time.

We don't share truth for arrogant reasons. I know many people just want to be right and their pride can get in the way (I'm talking about life itself). Those of us who have had a born again experience that share truth are not doing this for any reason other than our desire to not see anyone perish. We want others to see this same truth that we have. I cannot sit here and watch people be deceived. It makes me sad but not everyone wants to listen. :( :( :( :(

Anyway, this is my last post. I can't drag on much longer with this thread because it's all getting repetitive.

Meh, they're the same pictures that have been posted before from Jack Chick's website and Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven!. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with kneeling to pray before a statue, nor is there anything wrong with placing flowers around one in honor of the person (see all the various memorial walls and roadside crosses with pictures if you object).

EXODUS 20

20 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

THERES NOTHING WRONG? OH COME ON!

It is called selective blindness.

It is on an anticatholic website. so it must be wrong.

it does not matter what the pictures show, and who the pictures are of, that is beside the point, the point is, an anticatholic posted them. so they must not be real.

The fact is, Making an image of anything is sin, Bowing down to that image is also sin. They claim they do not worship these images, so they are not in sin, But they still have the first two they will not admit too. as these pictures proved.

Many of the people that identify as being Catholic have no idea about these things and have no doctrine to go with them, with the exception of what they are taught concerning Mary. These are the common people of the RCC and what they need to continually hear is the gospel and relentless if need be. There is a catholic lady down the end of the block who is my neighbor and every chance I get I help her with odds and ends because she is a widow and has some physical difficulties. Every once and awhile, using wisdom, I present the gospel to her and always keep the Lord Jesus before her face. I never refer to Mary in any way but only Christ and what He has done for man on the cross through His shed blood.

She does not know what salvation is because she is a common Catholic and so was her former husband. Little by little she gets to hear various aspects of the gospel and how the cross dealt with the sins of men and how man needs Christ more than anything else. I treat her just like she knows the Lord because she beseeches Him for many things. My hope is that God opens her heart wide and she will be able to see Christ high and lifted up and realize her great need for the Saviour. You have the RCC church and their doctrine and then you have the common catholic and they can be reached because many who trust in their own goodness have had plenty of sin in their life that they have not been cleansed from and there will come a time when conviction will set in, so we continue to pray and trust God for those white fields that are ready for harvest.

There is another elderly man from my neighborhood that I have come to be friends with over the past (9) years, who is a faithful catholic man and recently lost his wife. He is very close because of his tender heart and the frailty in his life at (85) years of age. He listens and takes much of it into his heart, but like many catholics depends upon his faithfulness to the church and staying away from certain sins that are cardinal no-no's. Perhaps God will speak to his heart in such a way so that he can get past that human goodness and his faithfulness to the church.

I'm sorry if you've been offended.

Spare us such b-s.
Few things are as pathetic than dishonest pity.

You people's version of "Sharing the truth" has an "in-your-face" attitude that is bigoted and tiresome. You people don't give a damn about the truth, you just push others into believing your understanding of it.

Who the heck are you people to tell others what to believe?
What celestial power has given you the authority to dictate what "version" of the truth people ought to believe? Nothing but pompous chauvinists and sectarians with a bad case of Napoleonic complex.

So you really want to apologize? Then apologize by accepting other people's differences in their practice of Christianity, not tell them:
"I'm sorry if I offended you, but I can't help it if you are heretic scums, and we must impose our ideas on everybody who disagree with us."
THIS is what you and others are essentially telling us.
... how Christian.

Very disturbing pictures
No where near as disturbing as this thread, the INTOLERANT, IGNORANT BIGOTS who keep it alive, the out-of-context lecturing, the cowardly author who hides behind this travesty, and the HYPOCRISY displayed by self-professed "true Christians", who are first in line to throw stones with feigned apologies.

Many people here (non-Catholics) have asked for this thread to be shut down for good. It has not gotten anywhere.
So how about it?

And to the fellow Catholics and compassionate brothers and sisters who showed their support in the face of this mountain of ideological manure, I invite you all to let it go too.

Let the bigots throw stones at each other.

Disgusting.

Thats even worst. Nothing wrong? wow!! Your telling me no one in those pictures is bowing to the images of mary? You shall not make any graven image of anything in heaven, earth or under the earth, and shall not bow to them means nothing to you?

Mary is in heaven yes?? Yes she is,, so you shall not make a graven image of her.

And please do not say no one in those images are not bowing to the image of mary. if you can't see it, your selectively blind.

If Mary knew what you were doing, she would be appalled., of this I have no doubt! Thank God she does not know. She is not God, so she can not see or hear what you are all doing in her name!

It is not a matter of bigotry to point out false doctrine. As for intolerance, I have zero tolerance for apostacy and blasphemy, which is exactly what catholic doctrine is

Do you even know what bigotry is?

intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself

And what do you say?

"I have zero tolerance" for what is YOUR OPINION, and YOUR OPINION ONLY.
There is nothing theologically factual about your fallacious allegations.

Catholicism came before neo-christian protestanism, aka "born again" movement of the 60's and 70's.
I'll take a 2,000 years old doctrine over pop-culture christianity, thank you.
But I will never call it heretic, false, or blasphemous. Just modern-day protestanism, tainted by fanaticism and hatred.

You're a bigot. You just said it yourself. So are a lot of the stone-throwin' hypocrites here.

Since when are bigotry and intolerance Christian values?

Simply pathetic.

Nope. Kneeling in prayer perhaps, but bowing, no. I know you don't like the way Christianity has historically used images, but we do.

Mary is in heaven yes?? Yes she is,, so you shall not make a graven image of her.
Strictly speaking Charlemagne, George Washington, Thomas, Jefferson, la Marquis de Lafayette, King Richard the III of England, Benjamin Franklin, grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, etc; could be in heaven. So does that mean no images of them?

If you want to be consistent you would have to require that all those things be torn down. Otherwise your imposing limits not stated in scripture. Come to think of it all those movies with dead actors in them need to be thrown on the rubbish heap to then.

Also you would do well to remember that God commanded images of things in heaven to be put upon the Ark and in the temple, and God does not violate His own commandments.

To tell you the truth, all we are doing here is beating a dead horse. I believe it is time to move on.
