Is it a sin to have sex and not become pregnant? I'm just curious because a lot of people say homosexuality is wrong because you don't procreate. Does this mean if a woman is sterile and she has sex she's just as evil as a homosexual? What about a couple who wants to have a baby, are married, have sex, but she doesn't become pregnant. Are they as evil as homosexuals as well?

No this is completely false. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having sex for reasons other than procreation.

Its good of you to be cautious of accepting things you hear, especially if things don't 'seem' right when you hear them. Keep the questions coming.

Sex is part of the marriage covenant. It unifies the marriage

I Corinthians 7:3-6 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. I say this as a CONCESSION, not as a command.

Getting pregnant is not a slam dunk, and contraception is not 100%. So regardless of intent, a couple cannot predict the outcome of their sex life. And people change their minds, and in vitro fertilization makes things really complicated.

There was a case where a man and his wife underwent sterilization (vasectomy and tubal ligation) and they STILL conceived a baby. Both procedures considered 100% reliable were not.

So long as a couple is having sex, they are providing an opportunity (however small) to fulfill the "be fruitful and multiply" thing no matter what they may be thinking. So we should not second guess why He made our sex drives like they are.

im sorry im a Little confused first of here doesn't it say somewhere in the bible that god wants you to procreate and if you don't follow gods words is that a sin

second you've posted on a topic about abortion stating your view that its either all ok or not ok and the fact you don't see god saying its ok. so if im right your basically saying your not ok with abortion but you are ok with contraception which to be fair is like a pre abortion your stopping cells from becomeing life like abortions

how are you ok with one but not the other

Their are more than one example in the bible of a woman trying to get pregnant.
I'm sure they thought they were barren...but keep trying.

Gen 18:13 & 14
Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?'
Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."

Maybe read the post better and be less of a judgmental jerk. She isn't asking 'permission'. She's confused by things she's heard others say. If you had seen any of her other posts you'd know she's asking a lot of things, and has been told a lot of bad information. She's simply seeking answers, and she's in fact WISE for what shes doing. So take your ignorant critical harsh attitude somewhere else and stop accusing and insulting people seeking answers and start paying attention. Tell me, did YOU think before YOU type??

Many institutions in society use the phrase "sexual orientation" in
association with one's sexuality. The term orientation is unfairly
slanted towards left-leaning activist groups to support their claim
that because of inborn genetic tendencies homosexuals can not change.
The scientific consensus on homosexuality is that it is a due to a
complex interaction of environmental and genetic factors. This is the
same as the scientific consensus lifestyles for alcoholism, gluttony,
and pathological deceit." Regardless of whether or not tendencies are
genetic, the lifestyle choice is up to the individual. I have created
this petition to encourage organizations to present a more balanced
view of homosexual lifestyle choices and to remove the prejudicious
label that implies that homosexuals can not change. Please join me in
signing this petition at

Join me in adding your name to the list to promote a change that would
make a real difference in the lives of those who are deceived into
thinking that there is no choice but for them to be gay, share this
with your friends, and help me get this to go viral so that we can make
a stand for what is right.

Any sex whatsoever outside of marriage is a sin, whether one gets pregnant or not. Sex inside marriage is not a sin and is for procreation and enjoyment. You don't have to be intimate with your spouse just to have children. Homosexuality is always a sin, as the Bible says so, and even if the human laws change to allow for same-sex couples to marry, it is still a sin.

I also want to say that I don't agree with birth control or abortion. God is the giver of life. What right do we have to tell Him, "No, God, I don't want kids, but I want to have sex, so here's the deal. I'm going to take measures to prevent life, just so I can have what I want. Basically, I don't care what You want." Yeah, that's my take on it.

So, since I don't want to have children, I don't want to marry. This was off topic but since the subject was touched upon, I went there. :) Sorry.

so if someone rapes a woman is the woman committing a sin by force because technical shes having sex outside of marriage and as you stated you said "any sex outside of marriage is a sin"

If a woman is sterile and has sex, I can't see anything wrong with that. Sex is there for two people to enjoy. A sperm cell is not a life until it meets an egg and The two become one.

What harm has ever come of a married couple having sex without another life being born? None. It bonds two people.

I mean, there is the issue that it becomes repetitive, that it's done too many times, that the 'spark' disappears from it but it's down to one's own discernment. it's one of those things where there is no black and white.

No, it's not OK to have sexual relations outside of marriage. This is called Fornication. It's not about "pro creating" per say when it comes to homosexuality. It is a prohibited activity by God. Both are sexual sins

She asked is a woman who doesn't concieve or has sex purely for pleasure within her marriage, as sinful as homosexuals.

Your answer comes from the line 'God looks at the heart'.

Does a married couple having protected sex because they love each other, sound like a sin? The bible never addresses the issue directly, probably because common sense should tell us a married couple have free reign on their sex life.

Similarly, a couple with the INTENT of having a baby, but not actually getting pregnant, does that sound like a sin to you?

Similarly, does it sound sinful that a sterile woman (already not a very good vibe for her) should then be banned from sex with her husband, the most intimate relationship she has? Do you think it should be put on hold, jeopardized or lessened because of her age or physical condition? Again, the issue is never covered directly, but if you use discernment, it's not hard to see that sex inside marriage is not a sin.

Homosexuality is never adressed as a sin because of it's lack of procreation. it's addressed as a sin because man was made for the woman and woman for man, and therefore homosexuality is an abomination and a sin.

As always though, we all have our own.

Isn't the quote from the bible man shall not lie with another man as he does a woman . Or something along those line anyway why does it not bring up a woman lie with another woman
