Why I don't have to be Afraid

I'm holding on to Jesus

I cast my cares in his hands

I have so many fears

So many things I cannot control

I cast these things on Jesus

Cause he said its okay to

He meant for me to live

Even though I've done him wrong

That is the reason

I'm alive, I live and its okay for me to have peace

Because "All things became new,

when he came into my heart"

His blood is the ultimate covenant

it covers over all and everything,

and redeemed me for eternity

I was covered in the darkest sins but now I am made new

You wouldn't believe the things I thought

would separate me from him

but nothing, no nothing can separate

me from his love, cause I realize now

that he is not a man that he should lie

Now Gods in control and he's on my side

he holds my world in his hands

Now I am alive and I live

but this is the revelation I got

when I realized that Jesus first loved me

I guess I gotta say this, because

God doesn't play favorites,

What he did for me, he'll do for you.

Thats what it means..

to share the good news.

I think there is a lot of hope to it, I think people think that they are too far separated from God, sin separates us from him, however they will never be separated from his love. Its love that is the key to returning us to him.
If our heart is soft to God or we are looking to him there, he's going to appeal to it because he wants to know us. He'll show us where we have hope in his word.

If we are alive, this includes anyone who can breath air, move about, cry, feel bad, get angry, then we are all eligible for his forgiveness, not even death
nor anything created can separate us from his love. Its a love that's boundless.

I was hoping that part came out more in the poem more than anything.

even just by a very thin thread of hope.
I say, let go of your burdens that are dragging you down, and throw them on God. You then realize that you're not holding onto him but that he's been holding onto you

I've been writing on Christian Chat since the end of October 2011, but Its been about 4 years since I started to write, sometimes I don't even keep my poems. I just like to pour out my heart and share with friends who are like minded, I think they inspire me to share my heart.

Other people have graciously shared their poems or favorite songs on their hearts too, it's a great poetry jam.


I can't erase any of mine on here, even if they sound wierd... they are permanent..kinda, because of the evil five minute rule j/k *sheepish grin*

I just write to get the stress out, or to pour my heart out, or if I'm going through tough times, it helps sometimes.

Exactly! Well, how I'm dealing with my fears is reminding myself that
God personally handles every care I give him, just as long as I know I do my best in life,
he watches out for me. I can't control nor save, nor make better, anyone's life but my own,
I just have to deal with that, I'm only responsible for me, sometimes that's hard to accept
but then if I don't let God take my cares, I'd be tormented or worse, even destroy myself
because of the guilt of the fact that I can't control a situation, help, or save anyone..

Only God knows what I feel, dream or what I go through, in that I am comforted,
I know I am not alone. I can move forward knowing that the creator of the universe, giver of life,
healer, the very God of mercy is on my side and he's for me.

Every step forward for me is shaky, but he constantly lets me know that he is also a very
real God, just as other supernatural things are real, he is all the more real. I just gotta keep
my eyes on him, in the valley of the shadow of death.

I am able to have peace, even though sometimes I am afraid,
As long as I've kept my eyes on Christ, I am no longer paralyzed, just to live my life the way
I want to live it - he wants what I want. So that's my version of perfect love, a fatherly love.

Earning my way to Heaven
seems so impossible
its like I try so hard to be knocked down
by my own guilt and shame
I defeat myself often
There is no one left to blame
How do I get there when I feel so close to Hell
How do I know God will recieve me
When I don't even have a soul for him to sell?

Thats when God looked at me and smiled..

I wanted you to know me from the start
my heart was sorely broken when we were torn apart
I've been waiting since the day you crawled

In the beginning I was a nobody
and the world and everyone already had a name for me
The plan for my life was set up to fail and lose
I was the loser set apart from the crowd
Nothing I have ever done was ever good enough
I was too weak to be athletic I could barely do a push up
My hands were always shaking when I drew things
I could not even play instruments or sing perfectly
Teachers made fun of my drawing and writing
When I strived and did my very best
and I got the best grades at the top of my class
There was always that someone
who could do a whole lot better
and the crowd loved them more
and left me out in the cold
I soon became afraid, so afraid to do anything
I never felt good about myself or the way I looked
and I always looked down at the ground
I never fought back when people tore me apart
I didn't know how to because I was the weakest of the weak
I was already labeled 'shy and timid'
The world and the people around me
have told me what I am worth
They tell me I will fail, They tell me how to live,
they tell me how I will die
They tell me who I am
They fill me with apathy, and cut me down with fear
they say that doom and gloom are my lifes plan
They tell me who I am gonna be
They tell me when and where to breath

but Christ tells of a different story for my life
He tells me even though I am weak
that he is strong

For he was and is the most powerful being in the universe
who thought of me before I was even born
he tells me I was no mistake
He came down from Heaven
from being the most powerful being in the universe
he traded me places,
me, who was the weakest in the world
he took my place and became weak upon the cross
So that when me, this sorry loser Low
found out about the love of Jesus
I realize what he did for me
I realize that don't have to be in same old "weak" seat anymore
I am someone, I am worth something,
I am beautiful, I am worth living
I am worth loving, I am loved
so I don't have to fight for love
but i just have to be and to love

So even though the world still says and labels me
calling me 'second best', last,
calling me 'weak' and 'nothing'

I choose to listen to Jesus instead
who has a better plan for my life
who says a greater word for me
he tells me to stop comparing myself to another
for I was made to be originally me and I am somebody
if I am nothing to the world
then that means nothing to me,

because I am somebody, to God
and that means a whole lot to me.
for me, he has plans of a hope and a future
and through Christ I will overcome the odds
even though I am still weak
he will always be strong.

Nothing is impossible for my God
Whatever he says I shall believe,
and I am believing for miracles,
for life, for so many good things.​
