First I want to give a shout out to all my homies, I've been on this place for a while and never felt like posting until I actually met some people interesting to talk to.

Alright here's the deal, I've been going back and forth on this and today I just rediscovered these threads so I'm not holding it in anymore.

I am a Juggalo and so proud I want to paint my face, here's how it fits in the family thread: My mom thinks Juggalo are a gang which is the last thing she wants me in again and I couldn't convince her otherwise. I'm gonna swing the hatchet (metaphorically, mom!) either way but should I hide it from her?

I think you should repent of listening to ICP. I mean Im not saying go all hymnal music wise, but their are far better bands in any genre you could listen to. Heck try some Led Zeppelin, Pink FLoyd, and Blue Oyster Cult. Or maybe Mastodon and Dethklok. Anything but idiotic grown men who were clown makeup and rap badly about jokers or some other stupid stuff like miracles.

Colt, I'm sure you've learned by now that some people will react to it negatively, even if they have no good reason. (see post above, which cites the lowest form of argument as reasoning.) But you should ask yourself, is painting your face edifying to God? Is a band with such vulgar lyrics really something you should announce to the world that you are a follower of? Philippians 4:8 says: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." I don't think ICP fits the bill.

I'd rather talk to you any day, but the issue is not me listening to ICP. I was well on my way to drugs or getting shot or in jail before I found ICP, their message brought me to God. You have to look past all the wicked humor.

Wow Colt, you must have quite a story to tell. (And that's not sarcasm.) I am thrilled you found God, regardless of how you found Him. As far as painting your face, I''m sure you know by now people will judge you if you do. This isn't a reason not to do it, but it's a fact. As far as going behind your mom's back, she will probably find out one way or another, and that might cause trust issues later on. I am wondering, genuinely, why do you need to dress like them? For example, I listen to Weird Al every so often, but I don't do the crazy hair thing. Can you explain to me why you want to 'clown up' or however it's said?

It's bad. I'm sorry, but it's bad. It's no good at all. It's practically of the occult.

God might have used it for His good, but that doesn't mean ICP itself is good, if that makes any sense.

And Juggalo...I'm just gonna leave that alone since I don't know much about it.

But let me tell you right now....the devil will disguise himself as an angel of light. Especially in what we watch and listen to. Be VERY, VERY, careful in what you let influence you.

It's my family, a real Juggalo believes what I believe, more than the wickedness on the surface, people who can hear the same song and not mock me but hear the message and nod our heads together. I'm not worried about haters, the family has my back and I have their's, I'm not the first to be condemned but we also know some of our family give us a bad name and have to keep our cool (ONLY swinging the hatchet metaphorically).

It's an honest opinion I can respect, the message of voodoo and the devil is either a joke, cuz chopping people's heads off in the name of the witch thats just so mental it's funny to imagine, or it represents the evil in every man of what will send you to Shangri-La. You get scared of Boogie Woogie Wu or The Witch then you need God cuz they're just playing. The 'evil' on the surface keeps away mainstream doo-daa listeners and only those who listen carefully, very carefully, and know what they are listening for and what they need to know will be shown the light.

Ok, I had to Google what "your kind" is all about.
When I was your age I was in to....well, nevermind.. I was "preppy"...anyway... I think alot has to do with your age, and "finding your own identity" but at the same time is what you are doing Godly? What type of example are you setting for others?

And yes.. you should tell your mother. IF you don't want to I am sure there are members here who will. ;)
