people can get hit on the head and have all kinds of problems. That is a physical problem not mental. They can go without oxygen for a long time, high fever and so on not mental but physical.
So I would think that retardation is more physical then mental. Maybe not enough oxygen, blood or something like that during pregnancy, but can't really say because I have never studied retardation.

IIt's actually quite funny how laying hands on a demon posessed person will expell the demon, in the name of Jesus, but only medication will help with mental illness, have you ever been around a person that was demon posessedthey cannot say Jesus is my Lord, but yet i can, so how is it i could be demon posessed?? I sing to my Jesus, and write poetry to Him, i love God

As with the young man who was blind, and the religious officials asked the Lord who sinned...sometimes it's just so the glory of God will be revealed.
Medically speaking, bi-polar disorder is caused by neurotramsmitter (and hormone) imbalance, and can be corrected with medication. The person with bi-polar, in my limited experience at least, will not typically do "insane" things to another.
I do think caution should be exercised in judging these matters, and the Holy Spirit will certainly reveal truth to believers; wisdom freely given when asked for.
Since this is not normally a sin matter, as brothers we are not called to judge it. These are my thoughts, FWIW.

Carey -- do you know any mental illness people asking someone to expel their demon? Again I believe most of these people to not even accept Jesus as their lord and savior. They refuse to believe in demons. So why would they ask someone to get rid of their demon

Will you please define love for me. I ask this because if you can define love(biblical definition), then you will know how to accept love, and if you know how to accept love, you know how to accept god, because god is love. And if you know how to accept god, then you know how to deny self(the bipolar disorder). I hope this helps!!
