Now I may hurt some peoples feeling and I’m very sorry, but every person I have ever spoken to that has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder doesn’t accept Jesus as their lord and savior or didn’t before they were diagnosed or they have some crazy version of who Jesus is.
Can anyone help me out with this?
Just a few days ago, I was talking to a lady and she told me it could be a chemical imbalance in the brian. But I believe that all things by prayer, believing without wavering, the Lord can and will heal. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. While the Lord walked among us He healed many that were afflicted in this way or in similiar fashion.

I believe it is not the faith of the afflicted that the Lord responds to but the faith of the saint, that is so concerned even enough to pray for the afflicted. Read Matthew 17:15 the Lord responds to the father's believe that the Lord could heal his son. Back in the Lord's time on earth when the food was not pumped full of chemicals we can assume it was demons, but today I believe a lot of the trouble the human body ex. cancer, including the mind is in the food we eat.

I am repeating this because I don't know if my first reponse was put in the forum.

Butting in again...I apologize.

Thank you for your response, Moment of Faith. It was very helpful. However, there are a few questions that still remain unanswered.

1) Are you saying that demonic possession looks like bipolar, or that bipolar looks like possession?

2) I didn't ask if a bipolar person can come to the Lord and be saved, because like you said, they can. I asked if a bipolar person were crying to Jesus for help with their condition, if they would be healed and have the demon cast out? What do you think?

3) New clarification question--Are you saying that a person cannot be Christian prior to being diagnosed with bipolar?

--And, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are saying that a person has to be a Fundamentalist to truly accept Christ.

Thank you!

In Christ,
River

Now this is only a suggestion
Read romans. Paul outlines for us how we are supposed to walk, especially in chapter 12. I am going to take my own advice on this as well, haven't studied for a while! Also i wanted to apologize if i offended you, but i get kinda worked up if i feel that someone is questioning my salvation or my faith in Jesus
Bless you and keep striving to be the awesome person God has created you to be

River -- Six of one or half a dozen the other –

I asked if a bipolar person were crying to Jesus for help with their condition, if they would be healed and have the demon cast out? What do you think?

Yes I do, but the ones I know will not ask because they don't believe it to be a demon or they don't believe in GOD. They tell me that is old way of thinking and I may as well burn them at the stake, but I keep pointing they are not healed by medication.

but it seems like you are saying that a person has to be a Fundamentalist to truly accept Christ.
I'm saying Romans 1:21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

That in red kind of sounds a little bipolar

Carey -- you don't bother me. I have stated a few times I understand this is a touchy subject. SO I expected a little blow back

As for your walk all I’m trying to say is instead of thinking what would GOD do just listen to what he tells you. Stop trying to walk like him and start to listen to him speak to you.

He does Have a point. In that, we are always going to sin. We will never come to a day (and this goes for ALL people, not just 'christians'), where we will not sin at all.

An impure thought is a sin. You've heard 'I tell you ,he who hates his brother has commited murder in his heart.'

This is why, there is no 'I am saved, they are not'.

It is 'I am as bad as the unbeliever. I have no right'.

'Let He who is without sin cast the first stone'.

That's also why this thread is un-christian.
Imagine saying what you said to me, to Jesus when he said things like repent, and go and sin no more. We can be without WILLFULL sin. You can even control your thoughts! It can not be said that are hole life was perfect if we chose to walk away from sin. But It can be said that we became perfect because we walked away from WILLFULL sin.

Do you not realise that the light that Jesus reflected was perfection!!!
This perfection is the same light that we are to reflect to the world. This is the light that can save the world.
This is the light that Jesus seen in the farther, and this is the light that we see in Jesus, and this light of perfection is what the world NEEDS to see in us.

The bipolar lady could be healed if there was one person on here that would follow this teaching, that the savior so plainly taught....go and sin no more!!! Be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect!!! Go and sin no more. Sin separated us from god, and brought death. BUT GOD SEPARATES US FROM SIN TO GIVE US LIFE. IF SIN KILLS US THEN WE NEED TO WALK AWAY FROM IT. Every teaching, in fact the hole bible is meant to teach you one thing.....STOP SINING BECAUSE SIN SEPARATES YOU FROM GOD.

I'm sorry never answered the stephen question. I believe Stephen was killed around the year 35 so only a couple of years after Jesus. So Stephen was a young Christian Filled with the Holy Spirit. So never judge someone over how long they have been a christian to what they know, bacause again the HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES US IN ALL THINGS .. Stop trying to walk like Jesus and let the Holy Spirit Guide you.

It doesn't say Stephen the man who tried to walk like Jesus .. Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), 8 Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles and signs among the people. 10 None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke

Thank You -- Thank You Very Much

JESUS SIMPLE SHOWED US THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES US. THERE IS NO SEPARATION BETWEEN THE TWO BECAUSE THEY DO THE SAME WORK...THIS IS WHAT MAKES THEM ONE WITH EACH OTHER AND WITH THE FATHER.

WE ARE TO WALK AS JESUS WALKED...HE IS THE WAY, HE IS THE LIGHT THAT GUIDES ARE PATH.
What path do we walk if we don't follow him?

You being so rude shows US that you don't follow crist.

Stephen just allowed the holy spirit to guide and speak for him.

Pitt do you accept Jesus as your lord and savior? do you believe Jesus is GOD in the flesh? Do you believe he died for your sins. Do you believe he deefated death and is sitting next to the right hand of the father?

I DO .. I asked Jesus into my heart. I ask him to be my lord and savior. I believe I have ever lasting life in him.

Have I not been speaking Jesus to you...yes Jesus is the savior/son of god/ god in the flesh.
You can't ask Jesus in your life and then deny the way he lives. You have to accept the teachings and life of Jesus to accept him.
I have been just trying to point you to what Jesus taught us.
If you don't accept what he taught then you don't accept him.

JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF MAN

How do you know the Holy Spirit is guiding you, and you aren't decieved by Satan?

Why do you deny 1 John 2:6?
"Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked."

As Christians we are also told you test the spirits.

"13 For such men are lfalse apostles, mdeceitful workmen, ndisguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as oan angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as pservants of righteousness. qTheir end will correspond to their deeds." 2 Cor 11:13-15

So I ask you again... why do you deny 1 John 2:6?

I don't deny it. I just walk it. I don't sit here and say what would Jesus do. Jesus aka Holy Spirit is inside me. I listen and walk. I don't try to make myself something I'm not. I'm a child of of the most high GOD / Jesus Christ. When I'm doing something wrong the Holy Spirit gets on me and that's all I need.

Spiritual Status not Christian
I BELIEVE THE TERM CRISTIAN MEANS THAT YOU ARE LIKE CRIST.

I'M A SINNER AND NOT LIKE CRIST

ARE YOU DIFFERENT THAN ME.

ARE YOU AN IMAGE OF CRIST.

IF YOU CLAM TO BE LIKE CRIST AND YOUR NOT LIKE CRIST ISN'T IT A LIE?

I WANT TO BE BUT I DON'T SHOW IT IN MY WORKS; THEREFORE I AM NOT A CRISTIAN.

Faith is dead without works.

When I beggin to completely walk as my savior walked then I will clam to be like him.

For me, demonic possession is something that only exists on TV or in the movies and is not real.

Jesus is the only name under heaven which you must be saved. If you accept Jesus as your lord and savior he sends you the Holy Spirit. Who is the Holy Spirit ??? Is it not GOD / JESUS ?? Isn't in a trinity ?? So I have Jesus inside of me teaching me in all things. So why must I try to walk like him ??? I just RELY ON HIM

Bipolar, manic depression, whatever you wish to call it - is a genetic trait. So, the tendency to have this is scientifically identifiable through gene mapping.

I carry the gene, however only the women in my family develop the condition and with medication can lead quite normal lives. However, usage of steroids and high levels of stress can cause symptoms of this to appear even in the males of my family. And why, I am pretty sure I will not have any biological children, adoption is always viable.

With that being said, I too have wondered at the demonic ability to replicate this disorder or to have an "easy in" with those whom have this genetic trait.

So, I decided to study this from the perspective of: demonic demonstration/traits found in the Bible versus bipolar signs amongst the female members of my family. My conclusion is no, demonic possession or control does not equal real bipolar traits.

Conversely, those with bipolarism, do seem to be more likely to demonstrate what is over and above pure bipolar, and yes, even to the extent of demonic activity. In my research, Christian authors also pursued this same track of thought and came to basically the same conclusion.

So, I guess if it looks like a duck, smells like a duck and quacks, well with intervention the subject could be freed of the demonic activity but still will need medication to overcome the bipolar traits.

However, it is important to remember that the bipolar brain does not work the same as the average brain. What is perceived as a threat to the bipolar, will be viewed as perfectly normal by the average. So the bipolar brain will react to the threat perceived as if it is real and then appear to be completely whacked to anyone else. Logic has nothing to do with calming them back down or being able to see "correctly" that there was no threat. And why medication is needed to conquer the highs and lows of their perception.
