...in the 20th celebration of the birth of my daughter, Hannah?
The enemy has tried a few times to take her life. I had a "near miss" case of placenta previa, and then when she was being born my OB, who is also a sister in the Lord and prayed with us when we got to the hospital, cried out--"Stop pushing!" The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck three times. The docs call it "the hangman's noose" because so many children haven't survived it. ( )
When she was three, she had a virus (tummy) that dehydrated her so severely we almost lost her. (Thank You, Lord, for hospitals and IV fluids!) When she was four, her sister, carrying her, slipped on some ice and dropped her on her head. There were complications, and again, we came close to losing her.
When she was a young teen, she became depressed and seriously considered taking her own life. (We asked the Lord to get after the enemy in a big way!)
People say God must have big plans for her life. I believe it, even if it doesn't turn out to be some earth shattering thing. I believe it because I already see big plans being fulfilled in the joy she brings into the lives of all who meet her. Her name means "graceful", and though I argued with my husband about it he was right--it suits her. She has grace for everyone.
I'm just so happy I get the privilege of being her momma. ♥
Thanks for sharing our joy-
