It is what they are promoting. Also the jews see him as the first jewish president and the muslims she him as the first muslim president and the gay and so on. This man is for everyone and he come in the name if peace.

THe only thing im telling my family is not to vote for a republican with conservative values who wants to deny rights to women and homosexuals, andtake us back to some moral high ground they think they hold.

If Romney wins, maybe he'll want to build the Mormon temple in Missouri and pray for Christ to come and dwell in it and start the 1000 yr reign that so many Christians believe in. Then all you Catholic bashes may have to change your tune a bit of who's the beast or harlot. He may even want to start another war in the middle east so that a nuke will destroy the Dome of the Rock so that Israel can finally build their temple. And maybe Romney may want to sit in it too, then you scream prophecy fulfilled.... Scarey, isn't it.

That Marketwatch article didn't say what you claimed in your original post. And it wasn't on snopes.com, which is where you said to look. The fact is your claim is incorrect. Dealing with percentages can mislead people, so I'll simplify it.

Let's say I, Ex-President Jim Jimmers, raised the debt $800,000 from $200,000 to one million dollars. a 500 percent increase. Now, along comes Current President Belushi, and raises the debt, not $800,000, but twice that monetary amount, $1,600,000. Even though he's twice the spender I am, (I'll leave out Congress, etc. as i'm simplifying this,) He's only increased the debt by 160 percent. Now a bunch of his supporters have a basis for a nice set of misleading graphics. "Look at how fiscally reckless Jim Jimmers is compared to the thrifty Belushi! Four more years!"

LOL, your simplification wasn't quite right, either. My summary was a simplification, as well, but at least mine was closer to reality than yours.

I brought up snopes, because they found some errors in the Marketwatch article, and set the record straight, so the most accurate numbers available are on snopes, but I couldn't link that one, either, so I just linked the original, knowing it wouldn't be 100% accurate, but at least it would be a start.

You might want to take a class or two in economics, then re-read the Marketwatch article, and if you can find it, read the snopes rebuttal of said article, and then read some Klugman. Then maybe you'll understand what they're saying enough to explain it to someone else.
 
I won't vote for either. Romney, while I dont think would be a terrible president, is under too much pressure from the radical right to really help. Obama, while I do believe he has helped in several ways, is incapable of passing the laws and reforms necessary to stave off a lot of the problems in our country due to a deadlocked congress and lack of political forcefulness, amongst other things.

I'll probably vote for Stewart Alexander, the socialist party candidate. I know he won't win, but I dont think it's "throwing my vote away." I'll make my choice, and though I'll lose, I can still say I voted for who I thought was right instead of settling for a sub-par candidate.

Because you were standing right next to me when that happened? I think both statements are kinda of the crazy.

And for what you said to Diva, if you're reading that verse IN CONTEXT, Jesus is saying no one is POWERFUL enough to stop you from loving him, not that there is no such thing as oppressed people. I'm pretty sure Jesus as a Near Eastern Jew in the Roman empire understood oppression.

Also, about the gay marriage thing. I know that is a very controversial issue, especially among Christian groups, but this is America. While you may personally not agree that it is okay, we are not a theocracy. We can't just dictate law because OUR religion says one thing. Not all Christians can even agree on it. Why ruin someone's Earthly life because of the way you feel? Let them be happy, they're not hurting anyone or doing anything wrong. When gays start rioting and murdering people, then we have a problem. But right now they're just like you and me. They just wanna be happy and live average boring "two-parents-three-kids-and-a-dog" lives.

Not sure Grunge if you are saying that spending cuts are a good thing or not. But the issue of govt spending will not really get an airing in this election. Both candidates are chained to big spending. The real debate is above.

Meecha, thank you for this link. This is an excellent summary of the economic / domestic debate in a nutshell. And yes, both major-party candidates are really in Krugman's camp. The difference is, Obama is honest about it, and admits that he supports government spending. Romney talks about "small government" but his party has always ended up spending MORE while in office than the democrats. The Republican party, for the last 50 years, has outspent the democrats every chance they get. So we really have a choice between two people, both of whom will spend. The question you have to ask is: are you going to vote for the one who will try and raise revenue so we don't go further into debt, or are you going to vote for the one who says "la la la we're not in debt" and continues to spend while simultaneously cutting taxes, which lowers revenue, and gets us deeper into debt.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who is really suggesting that we actually cut spending. Romney and Ryan flap their jaws about it but if you look at what they've actually done, you'll see that they out-spend the President on every issue except for social programs. They spend more on tax cuts for the rich, they spend more on military, they spend more on corporate welfare and bail-outs.

Krugman is one of the top economists in the country. Many economists have said, if you want to learn economics, you don't have to take a class, just read everything he writes. Basically, if he says it, you'd better listen. If someone disagrees with him, they're probably wrong. He's just that good.
