I think it would be fantastic to have an easy to learn bible here and it would really help everyone here is it possible to do that?
 
So you want the site to host a bible? The site already utilizes BibleGateway.com. Its not on the forums, but it is available in the chats. Because of this i find it doubtful they will want to go through the extra hassle of adding a bible.Just my opinion. BibleGateway.com has the ability to search specific words, or scriptures and has many translations available.

The amplified bible is good for looking up small bits of text as it often gives several word to explain one word
 
I think some simpler translation like complimentary English version , New living translation, Message translation and many more. They will help u in understanding d bible more and more

Those work well for reading larger passages, but as kilden pointed out for 'smalls sections of text' the amplified is good. Though i would avoid the Message. NLT is good though.

Ampli. is one of my best favourite along wit message and others. so y do u avoid message in ur small study as u said ?
 
'The Message' is a non-literal translation bordering on paraphrase, created by one individual. I am not a fan of paraphrased bibles, nor am i fan of one individual 'translating' the bible, as it gives too much for personal beliefs to come through rather than straight translation. The writer of it said himself 'this is not a study bible'.
 
I understand all u said and I think u a saying d truth. But there are very good interpretation it gives to some passages.
 
Ok, so what? So i'm supposed to go fork out money on a bible that is not a full translation, paraphrased by one mans opinion, because there are a few good parts in it? I don't think so, i'm going to spend my money on what is worth having, and that is not worth having for a few passages.

What kind of message is  The Message


Take a look at the comparison of translated scripture vs the message paraphrase and how drastic some of the meanings are changed. So while there may be some 'good interpretation' there's also plenty of bad interpretation as well. Again, not spending my money for that.

I have thee bibles and two new testaments, I have no clue what version either of them are based on, I think it just says "The Norwegian bible company"
Are US bibles marked "King James", "The Message" , "NIV" etc very clearly since everyone seems to have so strong opinions about it?

That makes no sense. I shouldn't put it down if i don't use it, but because there is PROVEN EVIDENCE that it has BAD things in it, why would i use it? I don't have to use it to see for myself the examples given. There is no logic in your statement. And its actually altering the Word of God, its changing the meaning of passages, and removing many spiritual concepts, i do not accept this alteration as the word of God.

Yes, when you go into a store to buy a bible, they are often separated by translation. And when you're browsing they are marked on the end of each bible so you can see which translation it is. Usually on the front cover as well.
 
As Other Posters mentioned BibleGateWay is available in main chat via "/bible Book Chapter:Verse". New King James Version is easy to read and comes recommended.

Regarding those new easy to read translations.... good luck finding anything beyond salvation... if you can even find that.
The Message is probably the worst, quoting from Eugene H. Peterson himself and via Wikipedia...
Although The Message is used commonly in congregations, Peterson stated his uneasiness with this in a Christianity Today interview: “ When I'm in a congregation where somebody uses [The Message] in the Scripture reading, it makes me a little uneasy. I would never recommend it be used as saying, "Hear the Word of God from The Message." But it surprises me how many do.[4]
