Please pray for me, I have been feeling depressed for a while. I know God is a loving God, but find it hard to accept it. How does God express his love? You often feel people love you because you can feel it, but how is it possible to feel someone's love when you cannot see them. Please help.

Hugs narnian, the best way to know God's love is not through recieving, but by serving others in His love. :)
This done by setting aside ones self, for the sake of another in Jesus.
Praying in Jesus for you to know this love and the joy of His presance in your life.

God's love is expressed through His Word, Creation and through the gifts He gives unto us, ask Him to open your eyes to His love and He will. I will pray for you. God bless

My very dear child, God's love can be felt, but more importantly, it can be known.
We may "feel" love from another human...but do they really love us?
Anyone can hug you, or do one kind thing for you. But does this love continue, day after day, without fail, and without ever rejecting you or letting you down in some way? Will this person never forget about you even for one millisecond? Will this one always put your needs above their own?

My husband loves me, and he does a wonderful job of it. He loves me more than anyone on this earth ever has. But even he does not love perfectly as the Lord does.
When it comes to God, His Word is to be trusted, so we must look to it to see what He says about Himself, and about us.
God says he IS love. He has many character attributes. He is holy, and just, and kind, and faithful, and true, and gentle and near...always near. And He is love. He embodies and personifies that word.
Please do not confuse what you can feel with what you can know. God cannot lie--He tells us this is so. And you may know His love for you in the way He cares for you...not just about you, but for you. His primary method of letting us know His love is in that He died for us. The scriptures tell us that there is no greater love than that a man lay down his life for his friends. :)

Jesus' life was not taken from Him--He gave it up. And the Word tells us that He calls us His friends. ♥ Since the Lord does not (can not) lie, we can know that He loves us in the greatest manner possible--He gave His life for us, His friends. :)

It can be hard, when we feel sad, to remember these things, little one. But you may safely trust in the truth of the word of God--in fact, you must. Even when, or perhaps especially when, you do not feel it.
You have trusted Christ as your Savior. (yay!) Since you trust Him to give you eternal life, ask yourself on what basis you do that. Is it not based on His word about the truth of this? This is---He is, the Rock on which we stand justified before the Father.

Therefore, I encourage you to go to the Word and see what He has to say about this love. It is everlasting. It will always do what's the very best for you. It will never leave you, never abandon you. It will work all things to your good. Doesn't it sound like I must be speaking of a person, beloved? Of course, I am. :) The person of the Lord, your Lord.
He is love.

I have asked the Lord to show you this love, and to remind you of all things, small and great, He has done in and through and for you.
I ask that you will be encouraged and strengthened in this love.
And I trust that He will do this because He loves you. :)

Hello there! You are in my prayers. God loves you. The fact that you are here is already an indication that God loves you.

ahhh so what you need to do is pray and ask our God to please help your faith grow. You need to ask Him to help you feel the love that He has for you. And you need to say to Him that you lay this depression at His feet and ask Him to fill you up with His hope and His peace. I refuse to let depression have a stronghold on my life. It IS your choice. Instead I have learned from my God to take heart in the hard stuff in life because the hard times are the valley where God takes us to learn the lessons He has for us. So instead of being depressed about how hard life is thank Him and ask Him to please help you not miss the lesson that He has for you. If you look at the hard times in life as lessons there is NO WAY for bitterness or resentment to settle inside of your heart because God shows you that its time to grow in pretty much every area of your life.
You know as human beings its really easy to let your mind fill up with worry. This morning I was blessed with the presence of my God with me in my mind when I woke up. Its like he took all of the trust that I have for him and he showed it to me as clear as a picture. I sat there in the bathroom and I realized that I have never in my life ever trusted anyone the way I completely trust Him my God and I have never seen him with my eyeballs either. But you know what, when you keep believing and you keep seeking Him our God you come to see him with every single other sense but your eyeballs. You come to feel him all around you at all times. Because you seek Him and because you don't give up no matter how hard it seems to be he gifts you with the gift of untouchable faith and that is when you see him with your soul. Realize that when you find your faith shaky and you cant seem to find God that he is right there right now by your side and that it is the devil trying to get you to buy his lies. The harder the devil tries to keep me away the visual of a mule comes to mind and then I see myself fighting to get to my God no matter what that ole devil throws at me. If he is trying that hard to keep me away from becoming closer to my God that means something amazingly beautiful is waiting for me with my God and I will NOT let that ole devil keep me from getting to it. Read Psalms the whole chapter.

Thank you everyone, your prayers have been a fortress for me . all your prayer and support has made me cry literally, the hardest part for me was to ask help from family and friends, I dont want them to see me weak. I am glad that i joined this christian chat, i can feel the peace come over me as i read your posts and strengthening me to move on. I have given everything in God's hand because I dont understand the why it is all happening. Thank you all again.. Please continue to pray for me
