........ God has blessed me so much recently in this area!

Honestly I used to worship facebook, and spend hours on there not doing anything in particular.......my first desire used to be for facebook, and God could wait..........just this last week I decided to loose the bonds of addiction Isaiah 58 style.

And I decided recently, every time I wanted to go on facebook, was it God's will at the time. So rather than to just go on, ask...........because God has used facebook greatly as a platform for evangelism, and keeping in touch with people I may never speak to otherwise.

So it's not wrong in itself.........but as with anything that takes the place of a 'god' in our life, it should be broken! Anybody having a similar issue feel free to message me, I'd like to share with someone, as it's been a 2 year process for me. It doesn't have to be so long for everyone though :)
God still burns with love and desire for us when we're addicted to facebook etc. but to miss out on God for any reason is missing the main reason for existence! God is so much more exciting and joyful to be around than anything :)

Psalm 24:3-4
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.

Just make sure that some crazy girl doesn't spam your entire profile while you're gone, that's all. I suppose if things got to be too bad you could tell her that if she continued doing it, you'd just unfriend her :).

Haha, well whoever she is, tell her I don't mind, spam is mostly all right :)

I can totally relate to this! I gave up my fb back in July b/c it began to consume my life. I used to share Christ's love but I also have a bad problem with gossip so it would snare me in. I would pray for deliverance from my addiction and then I'd get right back on fb to feed it. I think fb is a great way to share Christ if your strong enough in your faith to not get addicted to it. I'm glad to hear you are seeking God's will in this! That is awesome!

I'm currently addicted to this other forum and I decided to take a 24 hour fast. So, I have been productive these past few hours, which is great! The fast will be over in 4 hours and I can't wait to get back on.

I'm going to stay on for about an hour, then fast again for 24 hours, sigh, it will be hard, but I have to do it.

:). I've noticed that if I REALLY want to go on the computer, but in a way sort of like...hmm, well, almost like an addiction (like, you really want to go online, but not in a godly way? Not sure how to phrase it), it helps to take an entire week off from it, or at least from non-essential things, even CC. Pray about it first of course, as the internet can be a GREAT way to witness to people (among other things, people often feel more free to ask questions on the net, and are more open also), but as we've said, it can be a way to waste tons of time, too :/.

Good thinking, that beats going on and off through the day.........I want to get to the place where I can take facebook or leave it, I'm honestly not quite there yet. I'm doing alternate day fasts at mo, and spending a Lord willing, shorter time on when I log in.......

It's not the god it was though, in the morning before work, sometimes at work, and after...........ah ja praise the Lord always :)
