Frankly I see socialism as a positive good for society and have no fear of it at all.
There are many types of socialism and while Marxism (a form of socialism) is atheistic, there have been societies of Christian communists in the past and it behooves us to be careful when talking without being more specific. The Christians in Jerusalem (after the crucifixion) had a communistic society there.

Well, as long as they don't join the Republican Party, I'll agree with you.

I admit, I am very disappointed in our current president. I had higher hopes for him, and to discover that he's just as bad as any other politician is a little disheartening.

There was a thread recently asking what church Jesus would attend if he were here today. I wonder if he would have anything kind to say of any political party in the US today. Certainly not to either of the 2 major parties, nor to the "Tea Party," all of whom seem to want to claim him without following him.

you know what i find odd about this election this time round ,,,is all the name calling that going on ,,,never really saw that in USA politics before ,,,if you dont agree with the other party you can call them all the names you want and its from people at the top ,,,,,,,if this goes on the USA nation will be spilt down the middle ,,,its the old **us and them** thing ,,,, just like a school play ground ,,,,i fear for the USA over this issue ,,,,because no matter who wins now it will be all the *others* fault and the harsh words will or could turn to hate and i mean real hate ,,,,,hate has no reason ,,,,and these feelings are being whipped up by people at the top ,,,,so when they lose USA could be in real trouble ,,,,,PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray for you nation ,,,and pray for the other party as well even if you wont vote for them pray for them anyway !!!!!! Actually Jimmy, many of the elections of the 19th century were worse for the name calling as this one, the main difference was that they did not have the visual medium like Television to broadcast their political tripe. The election of 1800 was one of America's earliest and candidates did not even dare to run directly for office back then it was thought to be far too socially forward. Some of the elections of the 1850's and 1860's were horrible given the editorial cartoons were amazing in their insulting and derogatory content.

Sense when has our country been a country of only two political parties? Yes, the Democrats and Republicans have been the major parties, so much so, that the others have a hard time revealing themselves. But, we have always had at least three parties in our country for at least the last 100 years. If you are not aware, we do have the Constitution Party, the Libertarians, and the Green party. There are probably a few others I'm unaware of, but there are at least 5 parties at this time nationwide in our country.

In congress the two party system is the way the committee assignments are given out and someone from a third party is unlikely to get any committee chairs much less actually have much to say about how congress was run on a daily basis. Its a lonely existence for one of the few non republican/democratic members.

To be honest, I think the only way real change would come is to remove the party and vote for individuals alone, including the VP. Each candidate would be required to stand on their own merits and not a party's. But, that might require a total reconstruction in other areas as well. And even then, it still might not work, as people still would band together, thus maybe creating new parties.

Amen! I agree with this poster 100%. I don't like the Democratic party evil views. I am "Black" and disgusted by the way Democrats always bring up race in EVERYTHING!! Why can't I be treated like a normal American by these people? NO - I dont need help getting a job, I don't need handouts and I REALLY don't need any assistance getting into school because of my skin color!

Democrats try to keep us Americas separated, and Obama is doing a bang up job with the lies....why can't people work for what they earn, keep what they earn, and help those in needs?! Because we took God out of this nation. That's why. :l
