Mandatory flu shot or be fired?

Hi everyone
I want to know what the "Word" has to say about this ...
I work in advanced cardiac care... We recieved a form this week stating every emolyee "Must" get a flue shot , if we do not we will be terminated??? "unless" we have a waiver from a doctor stating we are at risk of health complications or have a pastor sign a religious waiver form.. I'm doing some research on this and have found that studies are showing "generational diseases" are popping up from some of the genetic organisms that are mixed into the chemistry of this shot...sometimes two to three generations later.. I'm just curious if anyone else is checking this out Or have had complications down the line from getting the shot.. ... Is anyone else facing this issue? I have passed many years on this because I believe God will take care of my body.. I have signed waiver forms stating I do not want it.. But this year they've revised the form stating now the employee will be terminated.. Now all the sudden a curve ball is being thrown? ..I believe God has put a perfact defense system in my body to fight off infections .. I am 42 and not on a single medication for anything.. Not being stubborn but God has taken excellent care of me so far and I don't want anyone jacking with what he's already done.. just weighing things carefully . I believe medicine heals.. I also have seen God heal what man can not.. thanks for any input ..

You firmly stood in faith and trusted the Lord. But now, your stance is being tested. Is that faith weaker now that a choice must be made?

I agree it is just a shot, but the point is that in faith she never received the shot, trusting in the Lord. So, it is more than just a shot in play here.
 
One sin is all it took, and 6000 years later, the "butterfly effect" results in the system telling you they will take away your livelihood if you impair their profits by being sick and missing work.

I used to get flu bad every year, then about two years I only got it lightly, one year there was a very bad strain going around so I went to my doctor and asked him to give me a flew injection as I did not want to get this flew that was doing it's rounds, to my amazement he said NO!....he informed me that my body had built up a good resistance and if he were to give me a shot it would undo all that, I took his advise and did not regret it.

as for them forcing you to get a shot I think they have no right, not sure how it works in your country but where I am one can go to the Government Labour Department and file for unfair labour practice....or if you belong to a Union (which I am against) you can lodge your grievance with them and they should uphold your rights.
 
I work in health care as well. I did not want the flu shot. I prayed about it. I get tb tested every year. I've also taken the mandatory hep shot. After praying about it I took the flu shot. There was a lot of pressure to take it. I cannot advise you to take it or not. I can't afford to lose my job. If I had felt that I was in danger I would not have taken it. We will have to use wisdom in these last days concerning these matters. God bless you in your decision beloved. Amen.
 
there are all kinds of rumors being spread about vaccinations, most arent true, the reason you have to get one, is you work with people with bad hearts, who could die from the flu if you passed it on to them, you are often contagious before you even know. It's amazing how people are undermining one of the greatest health care breakthroughs made, horrible diseases hat were almost gone forever are returning because fear is spread about vaccinations. No one remembers the horrible effects these diseases had and how many they killed, sadly it may take a return of something like polio or the mumps,measles etc, to wake people up and remind them WHY we have these vaccinations

I guess you could also apply this to other vaccinations like measles, mumps, rubella and so on.

God tells us to take care of our bodies. He also says he will take care of us. God also desires our health.
As a parent I have taken my child to receive childhood vaccinations. If he did not receive these vaccination he could become very ill, and even die from it. Why would I want my child to die if I knew a shot could help prevent this? Why would I want my child to suffer if I knew it can be prevented?

Think about this. When Jesus was on Earth he healed many who were physically ill or disabled. Why did he heal them? Was it because they were believers? Actually no. He did it so others would believe. When Jesus died we were all spiritually healed, but that did not mean that our physical bodies will not get sick.

While we are to put our faith in the Lord the bible does not tell is we are to refuse medical treatment if we fall ill. Wasn't Luke a doctor?

When someone says "God will take care of me" I sometimes think they are taking advantage of Gods blessings, and power. Yes, he will take care of us. He does take care of us, but he does not want us to sit around like knots on a log and to absolutely nothing to help ourselves. We are Christians, not robots with a programmer. We are not "controlled" by God, but by choice we are obedient to him. He created us with our own minds to make logical decisions. That does not mean to sit around waiting on a miracle. God doesn't promise he will physically heal everyone. He also doesn't say you are a sinner if you seek medical treatment to heal your physical body.

to the OP, since you said you work in the medical field then I would assume you are aware the with the flu you are actually contagious BEFORE the onset of symptoms. So while you refuse to take the vaccination you are putting your patients at risk. While God will take care of you, and I assume you are generally a healthy person and you will likely survive the flu what about your patients? What about the risk you increase by passing this disease on to others who more than likely are alot more susceptible to it? Sure, God took care of you, but while he was taking care of you and healed you... you lost a patient due to your refusal to accept a vaccination. Was that God's will for you to spread your illness to the already sick?
The vaccination requirement is not for just your health, but for those who you will likely expose the flu to.
 
I respect her faith and i see her point, but i see the employer's point as well

While some people choose to think that medical treatment such as vaccinations are not of God. I prefer to thank God for it being available to me so I can live healthier.
 
vaccinations are one of the greatest gifts we have been given, they have saved countless lives and stopped untold suffering. Like every other gift we have been given the human race is trying to turn it into something else. I could see protesting in any other field, but this is the health care field and the conditions and standards are different then anywhere else. This is just a way to help protect sick people who are in a weakened state. I also just got over the flu, you dont want it, being in a hospital and being around people with it all the time, I would want the shot for my own sake
 
That's ridiculous. Flu shots are terrible. I know my family doesn't get them because they often get the flu right after getting the shot. I hate needles. It's unnecessary, and it's totally weird to be forced into doing it.

I think it is scary that the government can force people to do such things. (It happened here for healthcare workers during the bird flu thingy)

Besides, the argument of protecting people (used by the government) fails: Even a person who got the shot can carry the flu, and thus infect someone else with it.
 
I know how you feel. I avoid taking pills or medication because I don't like putting anything alien in my body. I prefer taking teas and herbs if I'm sick and only occasionally do I take paracetamol if I get a bad 'time of the month'. This is just how I feel personally, I'm not saying anyone is wrong for taking medication or shots.

Since you're in the medical field and dealing with patients daily you could be putting their health at risk, particularly older people who have weaker immune systems. For this reason I would suggest getting the shot.

God knows your reluctance, but have faith that He will protect your body from the effects of the shot if you're that concerned about it affecting you in the future. Not to get anyone paranoid here but have you taken a look at what's really in the food you eat? It may surprise you. There's more chance of poisoning your body that way. Does anyone drink coffee? While it has some benefits it also contains harmful chemicals. Instead of coffee try going for a run, as it releases endorphins that make you feel good, is good for stress or if you need a boost in the morning.

We eat organic food, fresh veggies from the local farm. I also no longer use fluoride toothpaste as the fluoride is poisonous and damaging to your health in the long run. I heard once that Hitler even used fluoride on the Jews in the concentration camps, as it had some kind of 'dumbing down' effect.
 
For me, i don't get the flu shot, every time i did i would get the flu and be down for a week, since i stopped, i haven't gotten the flu, weird huh! If you feel strongly about it, have your pastor sign that paper.
