Nicole,
If I were you I'd ask my Dad, or those male family members closest to you.
We're really no different,......just as screwed up as you women folk!
(In a slightly different way)

There are 4 kinds of men: the ones that like football, the ones that like baseball, the ones that like soccer, and the ones that don't like any sport. Beware of the ones that like watching golf.....just don't go there.
LOL, kayM, I thought you were going to say, 'Beware of the ones that like sports.' :D

The way I see sports is, as long as they don't keep a guy from going doing God's things for him, like church sundays and other days that services/bible group studies happen, it is OK . OTHERWISE, 'sports' becomes a God.

I just wish God had not invented Seahawks (nfl football) Sunday :D

Monday last week , thank you, Lord :) that was good, not being legalistic either, but Sunday is church, Sabbath, keep holy, He says, the Lord leads , pray, listen (watch your 'life' happen:) )

But how 'bout that replacement ref's call, our receiver guy, Tate, got his hands on the ball BEFORE your db guy's feet hit ground. I know, I know, Tate pushed your safety guy out of way, which was clearly 'offensive pass interference,'

Also what about that first down given your QB, Rogers, Packerz fans? Uh-huh. More than ONE really bad call in that game, for sure. :) by the way, I'm not inviting any you packers fans out for dinner but I still Love ya :D

Okee, so, I derailed your thread, nicky, sorry, but, THAT right there is what guys CAN be most passionate about, their sports teams. Find one that likes sports but God , and, after, that, YOU, more :)

Yeah, iamjustbekah, lol, not me, I don't think, is that 'Venus' author, 'Gray,' a believer? Everything should be filtered by Him, he can have us read secular author's too. Just saying :)

I would recommend for nicky (and all miladies, even notmygents :D ) to read Passion & Purity by Elizabeth Elliott.

It is a great read ! Remember, too, God loves you just the way you are, past sins, GONE, covered by His blood , future and now ones too, eradicated, dropped by Him moment we confess 'them' into the 'sea of forgetfulness,' , per Scripture, and, also the Scripture says, as we confess our sins, He cleaners us of them, 1 john 1:9 He is fauthful. :)

Hello my sixteen year old sister! You should definitely read the book mentioned by GreenNnice - PASSION AND PURITY by Elizabeth Elliot. Also the book Captivating by Stasi and John Eldredge. It really gives us some great revelations at how God has designed women and how we are intended to be :) And if you want to take a peek into men's hearts, GODLY men's hearts hopefully then read Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. All creation is meant to "showcase" God's traits especially men and women having been made from God's image and likeness! Men are meant to be strong, adventurous, and are providers..well among other glorious things.. These manifest themselves in different ways but essentially they are designed to be like this. And you my love are meant to captivate. :) God bless you in your search to learn more about men -- I would suggest though that you start with knowing more about you --and well, the heart of a woman of God :)

Hahaha I think all of us has moments (some a lot more than others -- probably including me!) that we do not know ourselves but that's the benefit of having a LORD to follow -- the more we know Him, the more we know ourselves. :) Happy searching for more "info" on them "alien" species. hihi. Oh and please don't go for guys who in any way makes you feel less of the heiress, the queen, the beloved woman you ARE. have fun today love.

My pastor tells me most men are jerks. Take your time to find the one that isn't. A brilliant mind once said "all princes start as frogs and gentlemen as dogs..."

haha, really? didnt know that ;)...i kinda want to know what they like in us girls ..;)
Wow! That's a good question.
Biblically viewing, there are 2 kinds of guys, generally: 1. Those who are selfish, and 2. Those who are selfless. The latter is immeasurably valuable, but excessively rare. Females will be hard pressed to find such a man, but they do exist.

The selfish guy is very concerned that the girl meets certain standards implemented by him: "She must be able to jump at least 5 feet high, have a GPA of 5.2, and wash dishes without water." Or, on a more common note, "She MUST be outwardly attractive, someone I am NOT annoyed by and one whom I have a lot in common with." (It's not wrong for a male, or female, to desire these things, but sometimes it hinders the person from seeing the more important traits.)

The selfless guy is, by definition, someone who is "concerned more with the needs and wishes of others" than with his own. To him, the girl could be the most annoying, unattractive, person in the world. But as long as she "fears the LORD" and he feels himself to be called by his Lord to walk close with this girl, reminding her of GOD's love and promises through words and example, he will never forsake her. His patience toward her would, by GOD's grace, grow and his love would deepen.

To briefly summarize the answer: "It depends on the guy."

But please don't be compelled to be someone you're not to win the approval of someone who doesn't like you for who you truly are.

Excellent help for ya, nic, and, I'm glad you like my nic, nic :D

I like green, am green, God made me green, and, I'm not líke paranormal or anything, although some girls, indeed, I've asked out have thought me out of this world (and not in a good way either :( ) , but I hasten, to some more important stuff than of that 'alien' nature :D , and, BTW, thx, for the support on p&p book, belovedofHim, (it is a great Love story, nic :) ) , and, gloomlight spoke excellent of how to find a girl and have no impending doom. A woman who fears the Lord shall be praised from Proverbs 31, I gathered from gloomlight's post.
And , another book for you to read even tho your young nic, I think you are a young woman so you can read , 'The Prayer of Haves for Women.' :) and, 'Captivating' by Stasis, as Belovedone said, seems good too,cat least she has good taste in books I can tell :) also, sure read a guy book to understand us better, ,came Eldredge's Wild At Heart will tell you the three things that a man most often goes after, and, yes, competitiveness, as in 'sports' liking is on the list. You shop, we sports :D.

The selfless guy , as gloomlight said well, is who you want, nic, who likes sports but God things (church, etc. ) are priorities, and, consequently, absolutely a guy after God won't truly be after yiou if God is not who you are 'going with' FIRST , too. See, girls, we guys don't care to win, afterall, we want God first in our life :) We realize everything else will be 'steady,' a winner-winner-chicken-dinner recipe for us IF that dynamic is seeked numeric unO. Then YOU , miladies, are next, well, that is third anyway, coming right after the chicken dinner :D . :)

The Lord leads, nic, follow Him . :)

*Prayer of Jabez for Women .

Sure, glad to help, nic, the Lord leads :)

I think, the most telling words in all of Scripture are not some long verse, although Isaiah 66:2, as my profile shows my favorite verse is telling of my desires in life - humility and obedience. Oh, well, one of two ain't bad, eh, milady :D The words tell a thousand words to me yet they be just two words, I need no picture to tell a thousand words, for these two words show me a thousand pictures of following Him by others, like Jonah, like Abraham, like Paul, like Hanna, like Ruth, like Joseph, like I ONLY want to do, too as these two words (in at least one gospel, besides Jesus talking to Satan in the wilderness temptations) are the very first words Jesus says after having emerged from wilderness: "follow Me.' :)
