I'm just wondering how much girls really care if a guy is kinda overweight.. So, ladies; how much of a turn-off is it for a guy to be fat?

. It depends on how overweight. If he is a little overweight I wouldn't mind...however if he looks unhealthy or excesively overweight then to be honest, I wouldn't feel attracted to him. I don't like super skinny guys either...I usually like guys who have some meat on their bones, I just don't like going to the extremes.

The answers to the OP will probably vary, since none of us see through the same pair of eyes. One person's idea of fat may be skinny through another person's point of view. My prediction is that the info gathered here will be inconclusive. Rather than capturing the opinions of women as a whole on this topic, it will only reflect personal preferences.

They also weren't self conscious about their weight...in fact they were SO confident and intelligent they were slightly cocky.

I firmly believe that there is someone for everyone, because not everyone likes the same things in a person. If you're looking for the right person, people shouldn't be worrying what "guys" or "girls" in general like in a man/woman. If they're worth holding on to, they'll like ya no matter what.

Often, we don't see ourselves the way others see us. Sure a nice taut tummy is great. But that not what makes you most attractive. My exhusband weighed almost 400lbs. Now I'm not a chubby chaser. I was attracted to him, so whatever his physique I just knew this was my Ryan.

What you're getting is there is no one answer. Some women don't like heavy guys, some women don't care, and some women prefer them. There is no single answer.
The concept is, when it comes down to it, either a person is going to be attracted to you or not.
Thats why these do men/women like/dislike when men/women... questions. All people are different. Its all going to vary from each person.
Very true, but one still prefers to have some bearing or sense of a 'common' response. We don't always meet those 'exceptions' to the rule, so knowing the average is a place to start at least.
Another possibility could be that the posters such as the OP of this thread are looking for someone via this site. If this is the case, the knowledge gained proves practical rather than abstract.
More or less, I think we mostly just post for the connection and conversation. If I want knowledge, I'll go to the library, Internet, or some other resource. We don't just want knowledge though... We want relationship, and the insight of others.
I'm not sure if it's inate or not, but we all seem to have this need for community. That's why places like this exist. People can talk, ask, think, and feel all they want. In many ways, they can here moreso than in reality, so they come. It can be a great number of reasons, naturally, but I am one to believe in deeper governing dynamics to life and behavior.
Anyway, I apologize. That was a lot to simply reply to a reply with, but I wanted to share. Thank you, ugly, for your share, and also to the OP. I hope this thread, and site, will help you find what your looking for. I do pray, however, that we'll all find less of what we want and more of what we need.
As an overweight guy, I am extremely interested in hearing what women have to say about this, so there. I just wish it was a poll with a range of answers from "it doesn't matter" to "its a huge no-no" (no pun intended).
Oh and before anyone says "just lose weight if you don't want to be fat", let me tell you I have been trying and trying and TRYING. I even know a lot about nutrition and fitness but its just really difficult for me to lose. Do have an underactive thyroid? I don't know, but its most likely my bad eating habits which I find extremely hard to break.

Kayem made an excellent point about extremes and looking unhealthy.
You also want to feel good about how you look primarily for yourself. People will naturally gravitate towards someone who is confident. You wouldn't buy a car from a nervous sounding salesman or trust a doctor who second guesses himself. Questions like "do men/women find x attractive" usually leave me thinking "who cares?" Oftentimes the thing that is unattractive is insecurity and self-deprecation.

i fell in love with a guy that is overweight. What he looks like in terms of size does not matter as much as how he is as a person. How much he loves, he's attitude in life, his passion for life, for God... but in the event that his being overweight hinders his health or his confidence in himself bec. he himself has a problem with how he looks-- then that is not attractive at all. 
I'm a bit of a heavy weight too and I'm a girl- so it is kinda harder for us. I've been there... God bless!

Okay, since some guys here are curious, I'll say the shallower version of my answer.
I have been attracted to men of a range of sizes. But usually within the average thin to average chubby range.
I don't think I'd be attracted to a man on the outside in that way if he were very obese, like 300 lbs +
I don't judge someone based on their outside appearance alone, but if I were to, that is how I'd feel.
I am not "TV actress thin" myself, I'm around 150 lbs but I'm healthy. I'm probably too chubby for some men's tastes but that's okay with me because even if I wore a size 4, then there would be some who thought I was too skinny for them and who like "real women with some meat on their bones".
Can't please everyone no matter what size you are.
But the majority of opinions I've heard relating to these things don't see it as a deal breaker as long as the person is healthy. And I pretty much agree.
Men seem more picky about women's sizes than the other way around anyway. I would say it's safe to bet that it's easier for a guy to be fat in this world than for a woman.
