I fail to see how abortion will prevent rape. Do tell

prevent rape her body
rape her mind
rape her future
rape the victim choices in her life
rape the dreams

you want the rapist make the choices in the victim life

you want the victim to take responsibility of rape

you from the rapist team

you do not have a shame

prevent rape her body
rape her mind
rape her future

rape the dreams

Are you able to see how stridently nonthinking your post is?
It's so ridiculous, it resembles a joke.
You speak as someone who would, if they were about to kill.

So suppose a man walks in your house, ties up your family members, and light them on fire. Right in front of you. Now, he's clearly going to prison- you have to take care of his son though. For the rest of his life, he's to live in your house with you. Would you welcome this opportunity with open arms?

I think that if a women is raped she should have the baby and if does not want he/she, give him or her up for adoption. Bless someones life with the child. I do not support abortion. Many people who adopt want baby's anyway. I think it would be the right thing to do.Baby's are alive before they are born. They have a heart beat and they move. It would be like murder to kill the baby. But we live in a sinful world and its a shame that a life no matter how small can be taken away from them and they have no choice in the matter.

I was also adopted at birth from a multiple birth-- the children went on to remarkable lives in the medical profession, academics, pastoral, -- and me, the almost homeless bum; but, As Christians we are all adopted--
being adopted is a special blessing, not a shame; Jesus had a foster father and Moses was adopted.

This is a very difficult issue here-- I think it will take teamwork to resolve, and community, not coercion;
Free will that favors life as sacred-- and laws that value life and marriage based on families and husband and wife.
The first miracle of Jesus of Nazareth was to bless a community marriage. He also didn't support stoning people for their sins.

It's an awesome victory when a lady chooses to keep an unwanted child; It's even more awesome when she does it of her own free will.

My previous posts regarding re-criminalizing the taking of unborn life was an extreme response to extreme liberal trends; It's not rocket-science-- there must be a way for laws to value life without coercing a secular woman to have a child against her will. But, the issues and warnings raised in the forum about liberal trends leading to the "cooked frog,' effect are TOTALLY valid.

As a strong USA Republican, I support the conservative values of the Republican Party, including opposing abortion; At the same time, I support supportive communities to help people make choices of their own free will that value life and are in the best interest of the community.

INSPIRING SONG BY THIRD DAY--"CHILDREN OF GOD"

Here is a moving video by the Christian music group "Third Day," and the song, "Children of God" with a moving testimony about adoption and Christians being adopted as Children of God.
It may also be on their website: thirdday.com

If you're adopted, you should really watch this video and hear this song--

"Children Of God" - Official Music Video - YouTube

the website scrambles you tube links, so the link will not appear here directly-- just do a search on the name of the song, "Children of God," by Third Day

or try putting together this llink--

Absolutely not. Why is the birth of a living soul akin to your worst horror?
Adoption is an alternative. The Bible clearly states that we aren't to punish the family
members of criminals for their crimes.
Punish the rapist. (I say neuter him, if it's proven he is guilty)
But don't kill the child, what has it done?
Give it up for adoption, their are many couples that would gladly raise it.

I don't think jimmydiggs is telling you what to do with your body. He just respects God's Word!

Again I post Psalm 139:13-18

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

That sounds like a living human being to me!

If you disagree with this take it up with God.

Psalm 139 says life is sacred; Ephesians 1:5 says Adoption is blessed and as Christians we are all adopted as Children of God; Freely choosing to keep a baby after moral and legal laws are broken, is SAINTHOOD

Ephesians1:5
...having predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters...

It's an awesome victory when a lady chooses to keep an unwanted child; It's even more awesome when she does it of her own free will.

I just wanted to re-post this sentence. I think it states perfectly what the view of every Christian should be regarding abortion.

Recognize that ultimately, it is the wrong choice, but that it must remain a choice the woman makes.

i have not read all the responses. I'm 24 hour plane ride from home, but I've found friends on this site and wanted to comment. I apologize if I repeat anyone's response. However I do believe that a child who is born as a result from a rape is a Gift from GOD.

for any child born no matter the circumstances is a GIFT from God. I find it offensive to call the child something that ruins the mother's life.

Do you know how guilty and how emotionally scaring having an abortion is to a woman?

I believe in giving women the choice because I would rather people go to a doctor than some back alley quack who make it so they can never have a child again.

do you know how people used to have abortions? some people used to stick something metal and scrape the uterus causing massive scaring that made it very hard for the young girl to have another baby in the future.

The world has changed since then, but face the facts. women can only have children from the age of puberty around 12-14 to menopause 40-50... if you want to decrease the risk of complication of birth deflects, its really from 17-30. that's 13 years.

Its not about giving the rapist power over the victim, but God giving a gift to the person: the responsibility and love and trust of a being who for at least 1-18 years dependent upon you.

life is a gift.

sin is a curse
rape is a sin
JESUS came as a cure for sin.
A child is Born as a gift and a cure, not as a punishment.

Rape is horrible. Trust me, I went through it for many years. While I have great compassion for any woman who feels the need to have an abortion for most reasons, I do not believe it is right in any case. Why should we punish a baby for another's sin? Is is traumatic? Yes, but it's is not beyond what God can overcome. It's is not beyond bringing God glory and facilitating abundant life in anyone. People argue that a baby is not a life until birth, but most of those people would never argue against DNA being alive. People wouldn't claim that sperm or an egg wasn't alive. So what do you get when you combine to living things... something non-living. I think not! Abortion is not about Christianity. It's about a life. It's about protecting something precious. You cannot claim that a sperm and an egg are living things and then claim that when they join there is no life. You cannot claim that a person killing a pregnant women is guilty of murdering two people and then say that if it's your choice then it wasn't a life to begin with... or that though it may have been a life, it had no right to live.
There are still places where if an abortion fails and that baby is born alive during the abortion, he/she is simply tossed into a corner until he/she does die.
These are real life people, and we have no more right to kill them than we do any other human being. For some reason we protect animals from being tortured, but we allow unborn infants to be chopped up and sucked out. In Australia, it's a legal offense to hit a kangaroo and not call the posted number on the sides of the roads. Why, because it could have a baby in it's pouch. I would think we'd care more about protecting our babies, than a marsupial.

A sperm and an egg are not living things....otherwise having a period or masturbating would be considered mass genocide..... Is it murder if a woman has a period?

Smithbr8, I don't mean to be condescending, but did you read a science book in school? A sperm and and egg are both considered living. Therefore, the joining of two living things creates another living thing.
A period is not forced; It's a natural process. Thus releasing an egg during your period is not murder. Murder requires intent.
Is there not a story in the old testament where a man is condemned for masturbation? Yes, there is. Why? Well, because what he was spilling was life that was created to beget life.
Any potential life is a gift from God. There is a girl I know. My pastor sponsors her and she lives in Oaxaca, Mexico. When she was a young teenager, she was violently raped as she was walking home. Her rape was so violent that she almost died as a result of it. But she also became pregnant. She chose to have the baby... a little girl whom she name Grace. This baby was God's grace to her. Most of us cannot fathom how a child born of rape could be God's grace in any circumstance. But even if you cannot imagine that, can you at least imagine that that little baby is also not a punishment, or a curse, and need not be a reminder of tragedy.
I've been raped and feared I was pregnant. I know that fear very well. And I experienced it over and over. My point is not to condemn a woman who chooses to abort a baby conceived in rape, but to give a voice to that baby that is being viewed as a punishment and a curse, rather than a gift of God.
God knew each of us before we were formed within our mother's womb. And every baby conceived of rape was just as much created to be a gift as was the child conceived in the purest of circumstances. If He knew us we had to be alive. And if we are alive our lives should be determined by Him and not a legitimately scared and traumatized woman.
I am living through PTSD myself. I know what it's like to relive those horrible memories like they were occuring in the present. I know how it feels to wake up screaming not sure where you are, and wondering who's watching you, or who's about to get you. I've looked into the eyes of people my age and my perpetrators and felt that coldness over and over again... But with enough healing from the Lord, I also know that every conception is a child, and every child deserves the right to live the life God created them for. Women who have been raped also deserve the chance to see how a Mighty God can work in their circumstances. They deserved to not be pressured into what seems to be the easy way out. They deserve to see what life God can bring from their death. You don't eliminate triggers to overcome them. You face them to learn to surpass them.

Congratulations for overcoming it. I mean that in all sincerity. I have not. I probably never will be I've been told by too many pastors and Christians that I was a whore as a child and probably begged for it to happen. I don't go outside past when I get out of work. I refuse to stay in a house by myself in the dark. I understand PTSD as well. But that's what I get for asking to be raped. I know.

If they are considered living though, why isn't every woman in jail for commiting murder by not getting pregnant at age 12? Why isn't any man who's ever masturbated sentenced to death for mass genocide?

It's life, but it's not a baby. God create living things with value, but some living things like people are a bit more important. We are created in His image.
And again, intent is important to consider.

Doesn't matter. It's life- so it's still murder. Just like mowing your lawn, eating any kind of food, etc. If we're saying a sperm and egg are living and that without any outside interactions, it'd become a baby (which is just dumb) then you have to declare it murder during a period.

"Some living things, like people, are a bit more important." As long as you're a white straight male, then sure. But until recently, interracial marriages were forbidden because it was an abomination. Women have VERY few rights under the law of the Bible, and even being Asian meant you were denied the word of God because he didn't want them to know about Him. Sounds harsh, but these are the truths if you're stating that "we were created in His image". True if you're Male, White, NOT from Asia, and Straight.

I'm not sure where you are getting all that from. Well, yes I am; but its not true. It's lies that widespread. We were created in Gods image, male and female. God has both masculine and feminine characteristics. Interracial marriages were never forbidden by God. They were forbidden by man. Man is not God. They try to pretend they are, but they are not. There are lots of interracial marriages in the bible.
I'd really love to hear where you found that Asians were denied the word of God. Perhaps by man, they weren't allowed to have it. But I can recall no part of the bible where God decreed that Asians were not allowed the bible. God sent disciples to all nations because he wanted to see all nations saved. Besides, Jesus was a simple looking, bearded Jewish Rabbi. If the bible were written for any one group it would be for make
Jews, not white males.
Smith, I can tell that you have been very hurt by either Gods people or false doctrine, or many other things. For that I am truly sorry. I believe Nautilus' comment was sarcastic and out of line. You have your opinion and your reasons. I have my convictions, but that doesn't mean that any disagreement should warrant harsh responses. I do not mean for my responses to be harsh or mean. I believe God to be the convicter of hearts. He is love and truth, and I'm very sorry that is not your experience. I pray for your healing, that the God of the universe who created each one of us uniquely would meet you in a soecial way. He does not discriminate against gender, ethnicity, or even religion. He loves us all and will have relationship with anyone who will accept him. He loves you Smith. He loves you far more that you could ask or imagine. He dreamed you up. He planned your life before your conception. He began forming you in your mothers womb and he made you beautiful. He didn't make a mistake. He made a gift with a unique calling and purpose. He is calling you out into whole was. He only wants to love you.

Acts 16:6- Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.

God DID NOT send his word to every nation because he wanted to see every nation saved.

How is it possible that he doesn't discriminate religion? If you're the wrong denomination even within Christianity, you're damned.
