Unrealistic Expectations

I expect them to get out and pump the gas when we're on a date. Is that too much to ask??!!

Now this is where the old fashioned part of me comes in. If you ask me on a date why would I possibly think I would be paying. Exceptions to that would be, if we weren't on a date but just two friends going out to eat together or if we have been a "couple" for awhile. Then I would offer to pay for my part unless I knew that kind of thing made you feel uncomfortable.
 
I have dealt with this in the past and I asked the Lord what a good solution would be. I feel He said something like this: However we perceive the Lord is relating to us, that is generally how we will relate with our lover, or all people for that matter. So think about it.. Perhaps to have a happy balance we could see the way God is and then we will be like Him more and more. Think about how Christ loves us alot, enters into a close intimate relationship with us and fully accepts us based on His performance, not ours.

and then this is a nice verse.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly[a] with your God.

obviously some expectations are good but it probably best to discuss these sorts of things best you can before you even begin "dating" persay.. then you will not be so "interupted" down the road by unexpected expectations. its simple.. as your getting to know someone you may be interested in ask them what there expectations are. you may not be able to define all of them and a lot of time people change and grow in what there expectations are :) but you can probably get a pretty good idea right off the bat whats going on :)

a lot of times what may be a "normal" expectation to one person could be extremely "abnormal" to another. It mostly based on the environment we grow up in you know. So don't worry too much about it.. people can change and grow and learn how to NOT manipulate because that is not love. Understand people grew up in different environments and pray that God gives them grace to grow or gives the both of you room to adjust and grow.

Hahahaha!!!!! Well in that case.....:p Oh by the way.. I do wear heels but not that tall. At 5'8 if I wore
those heels I would be 6'5..;)

What's wrong with being 6'5?! :confused:

Is it unrealistic not wanting to have back problems later in life from always having to bend down for a kiss? :p

That the man will expect me to be what he wants me to be instead of who I am. That is rather annoying.

Mebeckah, who you are is God's creation and the right guy will expect no less (Or he won't date you, shouldn't't anyway) and will treat you with 'that' kind of 'fearful' understanding of God.

Guys ARE in charge of girls in marriage, NOT before then!, and, IF the Lord leads you to marriage, the Lord leads, , Scripture is clear, who is in charge of the guy who presented you with the girl and who you better fearfully and wonderfully understand that YOU are His creation and He can snub you out quicker than you can say-----

I was watching a preview for a show called cougar wives with one of my friends. There was a woman 75 years old who was dating men in their early 20's. So my friend he goes. Wow she was in really good shape for being in her 70's. This gets me thinking so i say, you'd date a woman in her 70's as long as she was in really good shape? He says, well maybe. So then i say... thats gross, and heee says its not because being fit is really important when dating so age shouldnt matter. Whatever that means...

This puts lots of pressure on me, i was hoping to let myself go sometime in my early 40's. Now i'm starting to question everything!

Oh nothing is wrong with YOU being 6'5!! It is always nice to feel like you are a man's little woman( says the German 5'8 woman who isn't anyone's little anything) lol.

Just make sure when you kiss that you are sitting next to each other and there won't be much bending down.:D
 
Apparently not wanting a guy to tell me that my opinion about something is b#$%@#!t is an unreasonable expectation. :rolleyes:

I'm ok with women having their own opinions just so long as they're the right ones.
