Looking for New Music.Thought i'd share a play list.
Feel free to share what the music makes you think of,what you liked about it,or who the group reminds you of?
one half of me is art so it took me awhile to find the right music, and is what inspires me....

1.Deer Tick-"Art isn't real"...like how this song says life is a circus instead of a journey remembering a place of sin.
2.Ozark Mountain Daredevils-"lowlands"-favorite part."i knew a man who said he was a stranger, cuz his heart he could not trust"i knew a man who could not face the dangers even though he knew he must"
3.
4.Nice and Smooth-classic hiphop this is how it should be song"let it go"
5.Matt kearney-"ships in the night"
6.two inch punch-" her heart moves" reminds me of mixing.something i've tried before.it's break beat which means some will find it annoying.it repeats "i am back"to the rhythm.
7.ronald jenkees-"super fun"this guy is incredibly talented on keyboard.
8.Soul Chef-"Dreamsville" reminds me of grocery shopping (don't know why)
9.Swimming in speakers-"in knowing"reminds me of nyun cat mixed with pompaloose (singers voice) an indie channel on youtube.it's not the beat..it's her creative sound...poetry.
10.upper egypt ensemble-"saidi festival"the energy from this song has a more serious feel of a guard onlooking something.
11.less than jake-"he's just like frank.reminds me of back when i used to be a skater, skateparks etc.
12.osibisa-"the coffee song"-in the right mood....makes you smile,and i love coffee
13.The Little Hands Of Asphalt"Words that kill"the intro and riff....is what made it appeal to me.
14.Jmmy Cliff-"son of man"----"What does your lord require of you?,oh but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humble with your king"
15.Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor-"Blood of Eden"-relaxing
16.Third Eye Blind-"in the background"....
17.Band Of Horses"Noone's going to love you"

and that's all! at this point in time.

Thrice-Vheissu, Major/Minor, The Alchemy Index Vol. 1-4.-I love Thrice, because despite being a non-christian band their lead singer is very much a christian and a lot of their songs are themed around Gods endless love, self-worth, having purpose for a our lives, and always having a "Love" to turn to

Flyleaf-Memento Mori, New Horizons-Particularly a song called Treasure about God turning us into something beautiful

Theocracy-Mirror of Souls-Words cannot begin to speak about how I love this album, Music is incredible, lyrics deal with everything from pride, to seeking God's help, and praising God for the absolution of sins.

Extol-The Blueprint Dives-The best combination of heavy music and praise and worship, asking God to cleanse our souls, and worshiping God simply for His beauty.

This may have gotten better response in the Music section of the forums.

I've tried to create playlists, but it doesn't work for me because I'm in the mood for something different every day. Music is life to me. I sometimes even hear it somewhere inside me when I wake up in the morning, as crazy as that may sound - like I was singing or praising in my sleep.

If I had to pick from favorite genres to create a playlist, I would have to pick from praise, classical, smooth jazz and 70s rock (70s lyrics are incredible, as are the acoustic guitars in so much of it). Most of the time I would rather play music myself rather than listen to someone else, especially in the middle of the night when I can't sleep.

yeah i agree.....music constantly changes.....i may have said that at one point.i should listen to praise maybe more than have......but i do like........Phil Driscol......"Soldier" " we are warriors" etc.

and holiness has been redone alot .......i like Rawsrvants version.......jazz would be chuck mangione
and i love the mischievious or sort of suspense feel to schuberts moment musical......

also another secret....is infinite playlists. the most i had at once was roughly 62

just listened to theocracy-martyr.....it's not bad....
alot of non christian rock......can be clean yet come across as dark and depressing......
at this point in my life i'm not sure some of these bands do anything for me anymore.my ex.would be metallica....

thanks for the tracks

I Listen to allot of music.....and what I listen to varies widely. Last night I was rocking out to some Elton John, ELO, The Partridge Family, The Beatles, etc.

Generally I listen to Christian or Country music though...Laura Story, Josh Wilson, TobyMac, Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley are among the usual suspects.

I really like remixes too so I have a good selection of those to rock out to. DJ Subb is a fantastic artist that has some really incredible Christian Remixes. Look him up on YouTube.

The only non-christian one is Thrice, I don't listen to a whole lot of non-christian anymore ofr the very reason you mentioned though.

Martyr is probably my fav Theocracy song though.
