Does our military fight with riot gear?
How did we fight in Iraque? With riot gear or heavy artillery
First of all, it's spelled "Iraq." I know, it's funny to have a "q" without a "u" following, but that's the way it's spelled.
Secondly, yes, often times in Iraq the fighting is less like traditional war and more like a riotous uprising. US Soldiers have used anti-riot tactics in the wars in the middle east since they began over a decade ago. This is nothing new. I'm not sure where you get your information, but if you heard or read that this purchase of riot gear is new or a change in tactics, the source is mistaken. The US military has been training for this all along.
Theyre already preparing for another civil war
This should have been your first clue. You may or may not be aware that the various wars and skirmishes in the middle east are almost all "civil wars" -- different tribes and factions within the same country fighting against each other.
As they know as well as we do, the only way to take back our own country now that its been infiltrated is to take up arms against the Tyranny of our own govt.
I am not thrilled with some of the things our government has done of late. Presidents from both political parties have ignored the constitution and run rampant over the rights of the people. Many of us have protested, and will continue to protest, this tyranny. You may remember a movement that started a little over a year ago, referred to as "Occupy Wall Street." It started in New York City, but soon similar movements were popping up all over the country. What I find most interesting is that these pockets of protesters were ridiculed and scoffed by a lot of the people who are now saying, as you are "hey, we need to rebel against the tyranny." Where were you when OWS groups needed support against police brutality? Where were you when protesters asked for help against the regime? You were calling us names and telling us to go home.
So excuse me if I don't consider your comments now particularly serious or worthy. Put your money where your mouth is. If you really feel as you do, those movements are STILL active in most major cities. Contact your local Occupy movement and ask how you can help.
THEN come to me and tell me we need to take up arms. Until then, your words are empty as a cracked vessel.
