so what you are saying is that someone who believes that Jesus is God and turns to Him in love and turns from their sins who deviates from the truth of God's word cannot be a heretic but only those who are unsaved or given up their salvation are heretics when they deviate from or deny the truth of God's word...I think I can agree with that
With one exception that I know of..... when the ignorant are deceived by a heretic & become one themselves...... This is why the Scriptures say this about a heretic in the Church:

Titus 3:10 10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

If its scriptural then this is a joke question
If they are a brother/sister then they are already converted.

Or, re-ask question.

Thank you for seeing that! Now let's go to the scripture that says it:
James 5:19-20
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
NASB
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

I'd rather be called an heretic for my beliefs then go with the mob. In all the church ages passed, it took someone who stood out from the traditions of men, someone God used to pull His people out from following false doctrine, or move His people on to more maturity in Christ after organisation had killed things off. Therefore, there are many people that would have been considered heretics whom God used to confound the wise.
In everything, humility is required and love; you can win more people with a Christ-like character than with arrogance, legalism, pride or aggression. I'm still learning that myself....! Without love, all our knowledge and revelation is in vain.
Yet it's true, God does the converting. But we can still be used in many ways :)

Now, back to my question. I have heard so far only one heretic converted ( praise God!), but so for none from this site. I was hoping to hear a few, since there are several who seem to work quite a bit on the ones they find in the forums.

I can answer this question. I use to believe that Hell was a place of actual fire to torment the souls of the damned until I was shown that an everlasting destruction from the Lord's presence was the torment itself. God is love, peace, joy, a Comforter and where He is not, the opposite is true. Without love, without peace, without joy, without one to Comfort, then nothing remains but pure torture. I was a heretic in believing that God would torture souls with literal fire just because they chose not Him . But, by their freewill, they have chosen those things which are not of God, and now God stands justified in my eyes.

What, you want us to try and attribute God's work as our own? That's silly.

How many heretics have you truly converted either in CC chat rooms, or in the forums? I would like to hear your story.
I don’t know. I constantly am trying to get people to repent, but I don’t know if many are listening.

None, neither has any other human being on earth. It is not us who converts but the Holy Spirit. We simply deliver the message (planting seeds) and be used to perform miracles or show God's power (water) but ultimately it is the Holy Spirit that converts.

Scripture for this:

1Co 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
1Co 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Blessings and Peace be with you.

How many heretics have you converted?

you know this question in itself bothers me. I do not like it because I do not see the people who I converse with as heretics but children of God who have wandered away from His truth.

I see them as my brothers and sisters in Christ who through ignorance, wiles of the devil, spiritual strongholds built in their mind and hearts through past experiences lash out in anger, drink away despair instead of walking upright in the way GOD has taught me is right and is teaching them is right.

I see them listening to the external lies of the world instead of the internal light of God within them telling them that they no longer need to get drunk and run with the crowd to feel loved and appreciated and worth anything.

I don't see heretics but beloved children of God in need of prayer.

Let's do some clarification:
1. Which one of my posts declared all sinners or all christians with problems heretics? NONE
2. Ariel82, I can't help what you see true heretics to be....... you can't change the definition just because you don't like my posts. Sorry.
Definition:
A. a professed believer who maintains religious opinions contrary to those accepted by his or her church or rejects doctrines prescribed by that church.
B. anyone who does not conform to an established attitude, doctrine, or principle.
