Hello everyone. I just wanted to share my testimony here on CC. My name is Mitch and I am 33 years old. I grew up in church, a small Spirit filled church, and I was around God's presence when I was a young child. When I got out of high school, I began to hang with the wrong crowd, and do things in which now I am ashamed. I starting doing drugs, drinking heavily, even to the point where I stole to support my habit. It was wrecking my life. I had so much bitterness, so much anger, so many lies being entertained. I slept under trees in the freezing cold, could not keep a job, was just a really messed up person inside. All this time I was hurting my parents who are very Godly. I was also hurting myself. This went on for five years. The lies, the misery, the sorrow. I began to sing in a heavy metal band when i was 23, the kind where you can't understand the lyrics because of the screaming. I was controlled by demons, and I did it all for attention. Self, the throne of satan.

But you see God had been dealing with me during those latter days. I knew I was wrong. I grew up around His presence. Everytime I went out for a drink...just one drink I would immediately get sick and have a panic attack. I knew that it was the Lord dealing with me. I had overdosed several times, nearly to the point of dying, but God spared my life. Finally, one evening after having enough of this misery in my life I went to my parents home and fell right on the living room floor. I screamed to the top of my lungs Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! over and over again. Save me Jesus! Forgive me! It was so loud the neighbors I am sure heard me. Then something amazing happened. I felt the Spirit of the Lord come over me, and I felt like i was in a heavenly place. I began to speak in other tongues, and I was waving my hands in the air, they felt like jello. This lasted for about 10 minutes. My parents were in there also, and were praising God!

Well, since that evening, God took the desires for drugs and alcohol away from me. It has been around 9 years now, and I do not have even the slightest desire for those things. Jesus healed me that very night! I got a good job now, started out small, and now I am one of the managers here. I have missed just a few days in 8 years. All to the Glory of God!! I still have struggles, I steal deal with the carnal nature, I have made my share of mistakes as a Christian, God knows. But I know where my worth is, and who I am in the Lord. Without Him I am nothing. So today I stand and say that Jesus is my Lord and savior, and I focus now all of my attention to Him. The world is full of lies. I have seen it. I have lived it. I have listened to the wrong voices at times, even as a Christian. But the Lord is so merciful, and my desire is to live for Him. He can take trash like me and turn into something that has worth, all for His Glory!!! Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me that night. I owe you everything.

A very joyious testimony there Mitch, especially the middle where you repented and re-turned home to your Father's waiting arms. Praise God, our Abba.

Amen. God resists the proud, but His face is towards the humble and broken. He hears the cry of the afflicted, and even though we cannot see Him with our natural eyes, He is so very close to us, eager, and ready to forgive.:)
