I'm just curious to whom is out there is from a non=christian home and is a christian to this day. I want to hear your testimony on how you came to know God and how your relationship is now?

How many members are in your family?
Are you the only christian?
How did you find the Lord?
What do you do for church or worship with anyone?
Have you had something huge impact your life?
Anything else special you want to add?

I was very much a lot blessed to grow up in a very close strong Christian bible believing home where church,morals ect ere the daily way of life and highlight of our daily lives.

I'm not exactly what you're looking for. My family is Christian, but they never really talked about it when I was growing up. I believed in God, but had no knowledge of Christianity or the Bible when I moved out on my own because I hardly ever went to church. There was always sonething deep inside of me that kept me believing. I started going to church regularly about a year ago. Now I am studying theology. I have had a huge influence on my family. They are going to church almost regularly. My mom is the only one who I'm having problems with. She's very hostile towards anything to do with Christ. My step dad, who isn't a Christian, is slowly coming to the Lord. He even said I could baptise him when I am ordained. I know its hard to be a Christian around non christians. I've stopped hanging out with a lot of my closest friends because they do things that i just cant support anymore. You have an amazig christian community here on CC.

It's always encouraging to hear the sacrifices you make to stay loyal to God. I'm proud of you for doing what you've done, and don't give up on your family. I have that same problem with my momma. Something is holding her back, but I pray for her always.

Hi, Storm Chaser!

I have no way to see into my parents' hearts, but I will tell you this...
We were taken to church till I was about 7. I am the second of four daughters,
and neither the Lord nor the Word of God were spoken of in our house,
though we saw our dad loving (actively) others, even those who weren't necessarily kind first.

I was stopped, along with a friend, by two college students with Campus Crusade.
It was then I was made to know (by the Lord) that He had saved me.

When I married my husband (of 32 years) I was young, and foolish, and hadn't gone to a church (in high school, lack of car to get there ). I thought he knew the Lord because his family had always gone to church.

But the Lord is sooo merciful, and when our oldest was a year old, He saved my husband.
My sister (third born) is also saved, by God's grace. ♥

My hubby and I took our children to church, and though health issues prevent me from going now, I have this fellowship here (thank You, Lord!) and can listen to the teachings of our pastor, and others, online.
Friends are kind enough to stop by and have tea with me, and we open our Bibles together.
My sister lives 700 miles away, but we talk every week for hours about what we are learning about Jesus.
God graciously used my sister's witness to speak to our parents about Himself, and I can say with assurance (as much as anyone can ever have about the heart of another) that my mom is now saved. My dad died 6 years ago, but I think he knew the Lord in the way of faith.
Even our baby sister has professed faith in Jesus!!

I think the things with the biggest impact on my life have been the trials. I changed, and grew as a result of them more than any other times. I am beyond thankful for this. ♥

I just want to add that I am praying for you, beloved of your Father!
I love what you say about your momma.
(that's what my not-so-little-ones call me when they're being affectionate. )
And she is in my prayers, too.
The witness of family members has been huge in my family. It was my witness to the goodness of the Lord that influenced my younger sis, and she's not just my sister, but also my best friend for close to 30 years. ♥

I came out of a non christian home, being called by God from the day I was born. I jus didn't kow it till many many years later. I did not know God growing up but I knew of him, also I did not know how to hear or even listen when he spoke to me.
I was a very exceptional child. God gave me the will to question everything I was told and taught. I never took anyones word for anything. I proved everything I was told to know if what I was told was fact or not.
Even as far as questioning what I was taught about fishiing. I was told this type fish bites best on this bait in this lake in this part of the lake, so I tried it to see if it were so. I used different bait, different technique, etc.
I needed to know what was fact and what was not.
God gave me this gift for the soul purpose of trying the spirits later in life to know whether they are of God. I have been given the gift of discerning of spirits and I am very careful in trying them by the Word of God alone.
I can not a do not try any spirit outside of the Word of God.
As a loving, caring Christian man I some times struggle with being able to discern the spirits at so much as a glance, as I desire all to be saved and none lost.

May the LORD give you the answers you are seeking as well as the fellowship you desire.

I spend a lot of time in my garage reading and reseaching. The garage is my church. I am a closet christian except on the inside I an on fire for the lord. I to have had an impact on my family while trying to maintain my tough guy statis. The lord has blessed me even in my sins he has provided for me and my children. He has never done me wrong. He has protected me in some hairy situations. Only now my friends are starting to listen when I talk about the lord and slowly my family. I know I have gained a great amount of knowledge in searching for the truth. I can only hope thatthe lord is saving me for something.

You may not be able to get out much, but you still worship and have fellowship with others. I'm very sorry about your father, and you may be right about his faith. Thank you. I do use this gift God has given me wisely. The LORD has blessed me greatly with the truth and knowledge of his word. Every day since I submitted my life to God, he has had me in his word studying or just reading at times. God has blessed me with showing me how to rightly divide the Word of Truth and put studies together.
It has been a real pleasure serving God every day reaching out to others and leading some in the study of his Truth.
My entire life is guided by the LORD, I make no decisions in my life today without consulting him first and asking him to show me how HE would handle or approach each matter.

In short:

Two things, most generally...

Staying true to God by not compromising and returning to old ways...

Knowing that everytime I don't do something perfectly right, they will use it against me and my proclamation of the Gospel...

I'll have more later tonight, I'd like to study for another hour before I resign from studying for the evening. I will also provide more detail.

my parents were and probably still are nonChristians and I became a Christian after my mum conducted a seance and we asked if there was really such a thing as God and the demon said yes and so began my two year search for who God really is knowing full well I had been utterly disobedient to Him and deserved to be destroyed..I discovered that only through Jesus would I receive God's love and forgiveness for my sins and I learned the truth that Jesus is God..my two sisters became false converts..saying that they believed in Jesus too and attending church and even becoming leaders but do not bear the fruit of love in their lives..I have been a follower of Christ since I was fourteen and that was thirty three years ago and nothing else compares with belonging to God through Jesus

as a teen in a non christian home I had to show Christs love to my family..be obedient to my parents which I did reasonably well except I was not always as neat and tidy as I should have and could have been..when I left home I became more enthused for the Lord and loved to listen to Christian music which my mum couldnt stand so I told her we could probably never live happily together and recently we went on a holiday together and she could not stand for me to mention anything about God..it is best that Christians and nonChristians do not live together
