I have been struggling alot with desiring God first and foremost and being content with Him. I want to know if there is anyone out there (or how much there are) who feel the same way I do. I just turned 23 and the only thing I'm able to think about is my single life and how much I want a gf. I actually know I'm not alone, but does anyone else struggle with desiring God more?

I used to really want to be married, but I've always known that it would be best to wait and follow the Lord no matter what, even if He said "no" instead of "wait". Now I love being single, and honestly, it seems like the more I tried to do serve the Master, the more content I became with being single :). I do really enjoy having you guys to chat with and make me laugh as well, I should add; it's not like I don't like having friends. If God has a close guy friend, boy friend or even a husband for me one day, I'm sure that He'll provide the desire for him when the time is right, but thankfully I'm super happy just belonging to Jesus right now :).

Today, I'm not struggling with the desire to have a husband. Tomorrow may be different. I think we go in spurts where there are times we crave the love of someone, and at times, where it really doesn't matter to us. Right now, your going through a time where you desire to be with in a relationship.

I voted "every now and then", but more recently it's been more frequent. I suspect because of the holiday season. *rolls eyes*

Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pro 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

This sums it up for us singles, stop searching, make God number one in your life, obey His commands, fear Him and His judgement if you are in bondage to sin and have never repented as commanded, depart from all evil, seek first His kingdom and rightreousness, and depart from all iniquity, keeping your heart pure, that can only come from brokeness and repentance on the scale of Nineveh.

Its all about the emphasis you choose to place on it. I used to be obsessed with the fact i wasn't dating or married. I was depressed by it. Finally, i learned that i didn't have to accept that kind of thinking. That singleness wasn't the end of the world, and i started trying to change my focus and outlook. I still desire to be married, but it no longer runs and consumes my life and thoughts. I made the choice to think differently and to fight my thoughts.

Hahahaha ooohhh Liamson. The cake is very real and you know it.

I really don't think about it too often. :/ I have other things to worry about and better things to consume my thoughts with. :)

I think of it every now and then. I'll forget about my singleness, and then I'm reminded of my age...and panic comes over me lol :p

Well the way I figure, is I have to meet a guy, if we both decide that we love each other and take it to the next level, we get married, then have a child/children. I'm 29, without a boyfriend and no prospects. The chances of all this happening by 35 is slim. The older a woman gets, the higher the chance of miscarriage or the child having birth defects. So it gets me feeling panicky. I've just made myself depressed lol.

But scripture says, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. I am seriously considering going around and getting other peoples signatures on my petition! God's gotta get moving if there are like 20 people on my list that believe I should meet my husband soon (I say that jokingly...sort of)

Wait until you are 38 and single Arwen! Then not only will you have panic come over you, but also arthritic pain, cataracts, a weak bladder, and you'll have enough wrinkles to count the days of the month by, and to top it all off when you scream out in desperation, your dentures fall out!

Good times!!!

My petition:

Dear God,

There are some of us here on this website, that would really like it if we had someone special in our lives. That we could meet our future husband or wife in the near future. I pray that you hear our prayers, that the desires of our hearts would be fulfilled according to Your will.

Amen

There are also an awful lot of children who need loving homes that mostly nobody thinks about. What is age? It's all in God's hands :)

Referencing the Wizard of Oz is the first sign towards "getting older" Arwen. Welcome to my world!!!

We're not in "Young Town" anymore Toto!!! - lol.

Do you think that the Wizard of Oz could give me a husband? He seem to do wonders with the scarecrow, he got a lady, and he doesn't even have brains!

The Scarecrow got a lady??? Are you sure Arwen? I think maybe you should ask the Wizard for a script of the movie before you ask him for anything else - lol.
