No I don't watch it. I think that it is too violent, and littered with sex and nudity.

That may or may not be true... >.> Though th ehwole bloodline thing is basically the basis for the entire show. Mainly when the dying kings advisor learns the heir to the throne isnt actually the kings son, but rather the child of the queen and her brother...yeah its a little heavy on the sex but the rest of the show is awesome.

If the situation were reversed.... in younger days I would have had to give it a lot of thought if a guy told me he was unable to have children. At this point in my life, it's not that big of a deal. It would be great to have another child, but it's not a dealbreaker at all.

Most guys my age or older already have children that I could love.

^ ^ exactly!!

A part of a reason to why I decided to post this poll was because, I believe there will be a time when I will have to choose between two very important things: a family or becoming a counselor. The future is so hazy and hidden that I cannot grasp any sort of image of my future. If it is God's Will for me to be a counselor, then I believe that I will not meet someone until after my Masters program in 3 years. I will not be able to afford tuition or time absent from my family. I also have epilepsy and while my medication controls my seizures, if ever I do become pregnant I will have to reduce my meds or come straight off them altogether, this can cause seizures. If I do have seizures, it can harm the baby. I feel like I am stuck, trapped into a life I really didn't want, because it is not leading to my hearts desire. And while there is the possibility of adoption, like Seoul mentioned, it is a very lengthy process without a guarantee that you will be able to.

The way I see it I have four options:

I do not marry, and become a counselor
I marry, continue my schooling and don't have children
I marry, continue my schooling and adopt afterwards
I marry, stop schooling, get a job and start a family

I hate these nights when the mind quiets, and the anxious thoughts of the future are not longer suppressed.

I wouldnt worry too much arwen...i know i dont relly have a place to say it...but you seem like a wonderful girl and no matter what happens your life will be great. Adopted or your own any kid will find a mothers love from you, so you should be fine in that regard. And any man worth your time would be willing to let you finish school and realize your career goals instead of forcing you to quit and settle.

I would marry a girl who couldn't have kids. There are so many little kids out there who don't get loved and have no idea what it means to be loved. I think I will probably end up adopting even if I do have biological kids.

Lol...I thought about asking what that even means...but then I thought ''naw, better not.''

haha probably just bad wording, but with marriage comes sex, and I would hate to be married but unprepared for children and have one bad niht lead to being stuck with a child im not ready for emotionally, financially, or just in general...

At this stage in my life, i would actually prefer it. At my age, and the way my life has played out, i'd rather marry and be focused on my wife and marriage, and not have to worry about raising kids. I've spent a lot of my life unhappy and depressed and not enjoying the world around me. Now i would like to change that and enjoy it with someone by my side. Without the financial, and emotional toll and time constraints of having children.
Mind you, its not that i don't enjoy children. I wanted them when i was younger, and still enjoy children, just don't want any of my own at this point.

It's so easy to tell you not to worry about all of this, isn't it? :( It's clearly a desire of your heart. You can trust Him with it, arwen.

I pray that if it is His plan for you to have children, He will work it out in every way. His arm is not short. If His plan is for you to share your mother's heart with children born to others, I pray that He gives you a heartful of them to love and counsel.

As a woman, naturally I want children of my own, but I'd be willing to marry a man that couldnt have kids at all or even a single dad that cant have any more. There are too many children out there without families and I'd love to provide a home and family for at least 2 or 4 of them.

At this point, by the time I actually meet someone who wants to get married, and then get married, I will probably be too old to have kids! :(

I don't see why getting a master's degree prevents you from getting married. My sister got married while she was getting her master's degree and both her and her husband worked too. It might even help to have someone you love supporting you during that time.

Yeah you make a good point. I guess I was concerned that the desire would overshadow my education and I would become focused on family and I would be tempted to quit school. I know I'm focusing waaaaay too much on the future, when I really don't know what God has planned for me. Just anxious I guess.

Absolutely.

Hanna had kids, Sarah (Abraham's wife) had kids, both were infertile and God changed things. Stories and stories of God changing things.

IF I felt the Lord leading and KNEW that my girl I was in love with could not have kids, I would NOT let that stop me, this I hope and pray. This is hopefully being true to myself, whether I would be 20, 30, or, 44 .

When you say family it sounds like you mean having a child. My sister got married but she didn't have a child until after she was done with school. And she was a few years older than you too when she started on her masters.
