If the good Samaritan had been ahead of schedule, and he arrived on the scene at the time that the attack on the traveler started, would he still be a good Samaritan, if he did not use whatever force and whatever weapon necessary to protect the traveler from the thieves?

There were no guns in Jesus day. So, He used a whip on the money changers in the temple.

We as Christians are suppose to love. If we love our children we will do a better job of protecting them from evil doers, that gun them down at school. If we can have an armed police force at nearly every college and university in the US, there's no reason we can't have them in the government schools.

This is spiritual truth.
No weapon (tongue) that accuses a believer will stand in words throughout eternity.
For God is the final judge.
It does not mean we are to lay down to be run over by every satanic force that comes along.

I don't have a gun because I don't want to have one. I'm not against them totally, but I believe they should be better controlled and monitored than they are. If I had one, it would be for self defense. It would be locked away when I didn't need it. I doubt I'd ever go to a shooting range, as I don't think I'd ever have much of a real use for it.

I do believe they should be better regulated and I don't think it's a sin or wrong to own one.

When it is locked away who protects you?

Do not confuse the physical and the spiritual.

We should not be "of the world" (spiritually); however, we still have to live "in the world" (physically).

As long as we live "in the world", we may be citizens...

God or Guns.
So Guns take the place of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Guns are the appointed archetype of evil.
You must either choose a loving God or evil Guns.
Anything else to the OP doesn't make sense.
