Olsteen believes in Christ as his savior, he said it in the video. That means you and him share the same spirit. Your a christian...he's a christian. Your backbiting against your brother.

You got that right. That's why people like Olsteen are driving the nation down. That's exactly the point. So thank you.
P.S. Claiming Jesus as your Lord and Savior and living like it are two different things. Obama himself claims Jesus as his Lord and Savior and he will be personally responsible for the death of tens of thousands of murdered babies by the time he leaves office. Ted Haggard to this day makes the same claim. I'm sure he and his male lover pray about it every day. After they come down off of their meth high.

Living like Jesus is your Lord and savior would mean praying for obama and trusting that God has put him in office. Also trusting that "every branch that does not bare fruit will be cut off and thrown into the fire". Stand up for what is right, yes, but you cant put yourself above someone else...even with words. If a non believer see's christians fussing and fighting with eachother, then what reason would they want to join that? Hate the sin...not the sinner.

I can't argue with that. You're 100% right. You sound like my pastor. I get a little heated sometimes and though I think I'm not wrong with what I said, I think you're right more than I am. Thanks.

Hey your awesome! :) Im no pastor or anything, but its takes a lot to humble yourself like that and I admire you. Keep up the good work!
 
All teaching is to be judged. When someone is set up as a teacher of the largest church in the nation, their teaching and beliefs should be judged, and people should make decisions about them accordingly (e.g., whether or not to buy their books, whether or not to encourage their friends to listen to them or not listen to them, etc.).

If one can claim that both Hindus and Mormons can be saved as they are, then I would seriously have to question what he really believes about this Christ he names.

It doesn't sound much like the one who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus also did not let the Sadducees error to go unchallenged either.
 
I think Joel has gotten to where he is by sugar-coating the Bible.He says what people want to hear,won't come right out and proclaim Romans 10:9.There are probably alot of his church members that think all they have to do is........
 
Is it safe to say that he is leading many astray? I mean we could debate once saved always saved all day but...
 
You would always hope that a preacher that God has given a platform and pulpit to, would always be on fire for God. You would always hope that the preaching would be Jesus Christ and Him crucified, which is foolishness and a stumbling block to many, but to those that believe it is the power of God unto salvation.
 
I like a preacher who doesn't waffle on....one who speaks from the Word and shares what God has told him to say.....then shuts up.

I say nothing here that I wouldn't say face to face to him if he were here.....let me put this question to you......a friend says to me ohhhhh Joel Osteen preaches the best sermons I believe everything that comes from his lips is of God.........do I say nothing to this woman of Joel's error?

I'd say you should treat it just the same as if she said "I believe everything that comes out of buhda's mouth or muhamed's mouth"....with respect and guiding her to the truth in love. Now I'm not saying you had some bad things to say in this thread but some post border on slanderous, calling him wimpy, afraid, driving the nation down. Relaying good information to fellow chistians is good, especially if it's concerning an influential preacher that wont proclaim Romans 10:9, but lets not sound like a bunch of old women running someone down in a hair salon. The only reason I started objecting was because my first take when reading this thread was gossip. Another member posted the same thing and if two people got that impresion then probably others will also, regardless if it is gossip or not. We certainlly dont want to be viewed as gossipers. Thats my point, Im done writing here. Sorry if I offended you, it was only meant in love.-------Derek
