Do you ever wish you could change something about your personality?

I'm a fireball. I know that God has used this mightily in my life, but there are so many times when I wish I wasn't... *sigh*

If the trait is wrong, then absolutely. I wrote a poem about that two days ago. :o I hope I'm never satisfied to leave something that should go.

But if it's just part of who I am, and not something that needs to be changed... then no. Maybe there are reasons that He made me the way that He did.

I wish that I wasn't so passionate about arguing a point. I've noticed that people who don't want to think about stuff in depth feel intimidated and frustrated by me at times.

I don't take arguments personally but, people do and they can tend to take the subject of conversations as an attack. Whereas I tend to view it as me giving a suggestion and the validity behind it.

Yes, I do.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't so awesome. Shooing off a horde of ladies with a stick can be quite exhausting.

Sometimes I talk too much, especially in front of girls I like.

This^^ I remember one time my best friend and I were discussing something about Scriptures, and at some point I was trying to take the conversation deeper and trying to discuss something I had been thinking about. She got offended by something I was saying and by our disagreement, so I just had to change the topic. I still don't understand why someone wouldn't want to have a challenging discussion, but I guess we are all different. I still love her though :) I was thinking that maybe the problem is me?? who knows.

And besides that...I would like to be more bold when it comes to taking a decission. Sometimes I think too much and end up not doing anything, which makes me feel frustrated at the end.

Two things.

I'm stubborn, really stubborn.

When someone tells me to do something and i dont like the way its said i wont do it. Mainly to let him or her know i do what i want. Same with if someone tells me not to do something.

I really do not like this about myself.

I also am way to laid back. A lot of times it seems i don't care about anything, which is obviously not true.

huh... I'm pretty happy with who I am.. but maybe if I liked crowd, I would have met more people (thank God for the internet.. LOL)

I really like some parts of my personality. But sometimes I am blunt, and say things that people normally wouldn't say just to push social norms. A bit of a smart-***, which I try to keep in check. I compare myself to others, and can be self-absorbed. All this, and yet God still loves me.

LOL Nod! I totally get you. :)

I know it will come as a complete shock to most folks, but I can be a lil stubborn too. ;) The second someone tells me I can't do something, it becomes the thing I want to do most. haha

I'd say that I also do this too. I guess for me it leads to something else I would like to change, but haven't a clue how: Even when I don't actually care about someone else's opinion of me, I still think a lot about what that opinion is and how my appearance/actions affect that opinion. It has gotten me in hot water spiritually a number of times before.

People are so different hey....

I went to a weekend away with a committee I was in - we did a little personality test and it discussed these things.

It was so enlightening, some of the people were like myself - we had no problems arguing quite viciously and knowing that it wasn't personal.

Others, when the argument got a bit heated (but not personal) would feel really awkward and want to smooth things over badly.

I think I am more sensitive to these types of different personalities now.

Nod stubbornness can be a good trait.

And I think laid backness is amazing... embrace it. Better to not be concerned about what you can't change. (And maybe some things you can?) But don't be lazy, haha ;)

I would like to be a more sensitive person and to be able to love people more. There is a very fine line between a hilarious joke and offending someone, hehehee. But I'm not really talking about jokes... just in general.

"Boy, do I ever understand this one..."

You hit the nail on the head...

I am a "deep thinker" type of personality - "stuff in depth" is my regular "cup of tea" -- not that I cannot "lighten up" at times and enjoy some of the "surface stuff" --- no, I am telling the truth - honest - really :D ;)

Everything you said - especially the whole second paragraph - "hits home" with me.

:)

.

I find that some of my greatest strengths are related to my greatest weaknesses, so by changing my weaknesses I invariably would change some of my strengths.

That was way deeper than I wanted it to be. :o

I guess if I were to change something, though, it'd be that I wish I was more confident in a crowd. I'm not good with large groups of people, especially if I don't know many of them.

I also relate to this. I love in depth/intense discussions (which may shock some who don't know me in real life since I tend to be a bit on the shy/quiet side) and there are few people who want to keep up with me. For those who don't, the conversation usually ends with, "Because that's just the way it is, Rachel." :p
