So, I'm a singer/songwriter. I've been writing music all my life, but I've never really shared it. I'm surrounded by amazing musicians. I can sing, but I would never really consider myself and instrumentalist though I do play enough to write music. I can chart music, and I'm learning arrangement. Recently I received a word from The Lord asking me to basically embrace my gifts and put my music out there. I've felt this desire for a long time, but I only recently got the confirmation from The Lord. I've felt called to lead worship and share my story and music for many years, and the desire has only grown stronger as I've grown older.
In March my church is doing a women's retreat and the theme is on the inner child. In November of 2011, after I left a party to avoid a public breakdown, I walked home very angry at myself and really wanting to self-harm. I had had a conversation with a friend earlier that day with a friend where she was talking to me about loving our inner child. Somehow I became very aware of my inner child at that moment and I began a bit of internal screaming. I was very frustrated because I didn't understand how in the world I could love MY inner child. It seemed impossible. Instead I heard myself more clearly than ever screaming "I hate that little girl! I hate her, I hate her, I hate her!" As a conscious adult I was very confused at how I could be saying this to myself, but it was as if I'd always been saying it and I was only finally hearing it for the first time. So when I got home I began writing this song, and it became the voice of my inner child... The one that could never speak loudly enough.
After a few days of pondering I finally got the nerve and asked the women's ministry leader if there may be a place for me to share the song. It seems there may be. Gulp! Now I'm nervous. If I had a nice little recording set up I would sacrifice my pride and link an Mp3 but the lyrics will have to suffice.

Little girl so lost, so alone, she ran for shelter into preying arms
Little girl with no hope at all, in all her wandering she always found harm

No chance in this world to walk through it unscarred
she ran so fast and so far

Ch:and she cried, "Come sit with me
I'll lay my head upon your chest.
Won't you let me feel your heartbeat?
Will you give me rest?

Little girl so confused, so undone; she can't make sense of their senseless ways
Little girl so lost in her pain; she has forgotten her very own name

Overwhelmed and afraid, she's got nothing to say
She is bowing to shame, she knows no other way

Beautiful, :) praying in Jesus's name that all doors will be opened and all needed will be provided, for the ministry you are called to.

Hugs and God bless

maybe you might like to post that in the music, or the poetry forum? :)

It's about time!!!! I am so overjoyed that he has released you. My website costs me $80 a year. Get a website, post your testimony and make some mp3's. If you need a place to start, I'd be glad to host a few on my website until someone donates the money (and I'm sure God will tell someone to do so.)

At age 31, my wife wrote:
Follow Me – To Anna from Jesus with love 2/16/81 (He married us 9 days later)
Take my hand, I’ll take you where my Father’s path would lead you.
Take my hand and do not be afraid.
Take my song, and sing with me of freedom.
Take my hand, I will show you the way, I will show you the way.
But I don’t know where we’re goin’, Lord, and I barely know the way.
I just know that you’re callin’ me and I’ve got to find my place, I’ve got to find my place.
Take my heart, and let it give you courage. Take my wounds, and let them share your pain.
Breathe my Life and know that it’s eternal. Hold my light, and let it lead your way.
And let it lead your way.
For you never give up anyone that I don’t fill you with more of me
And I never call you anyplace if it’s not to set you free, if it’s not to set you free.
Know my truth and claim all I have given you. Don’t look back, but only rest in Me.
Dance with joy to the music that My Spirit gives, dance secure, and know you dance with me.
And know you dance with Me.
Celebrate, for in giving you’ll know mercy. Celebrate, for in dying you’ll find life.
Resurrect, for in leaving you’ll find freedom.
Follow me, I will show you the way.
Follow me, I’ll help you find the way.
Follow me, and you will be the way.

That's the challenge now... Trying to figure out the steps. I have no income or recording equipment. Unfortunately, I'm not able to work with the producer at my church. It's a very long story. I have many musician friends who are amateur producers so I guess I'll start there. If I could get them recorder I could probably easily get them on the market through Vineyard music, but I could also sell them at church.
Im praying someone will sponsor some piano lessons for me since that's really what I need to work on most and I can't afford them on my own.

I know it sounds kind of lame and may not help, but a lot of people use youtube to share things like music. Facebook is also popular, you could make a FB page with your worship songs on it. I know that if those came up I would share it and I will definitely keep you in prayers.

FB book is a possibility right now... but right now my only recording device is my iPhone. Thus first things first... I need to find a way to record.

God made me erase two ideas. He says, keep praising Him; it's His project.
