My goldfish are now six years old. I just thought everyone should see how cute they are.![]()
I love your tank, Nicole. The goldfish look very happy. I have a tank too that I've had for years. I miss my little goldfish that I used to have. A couple of them lasted more than 5 years although I lost count of how long exactly. Its almost like losing a pet when one dies because they are so friendly, not like most other fish that just skit away from you as fast as they can. The goldfish seem like they want to be your friend, even nipping at my arm whenever I cleaned the tank. And they're so cute!My goldfish are now six years old. I had a tank of goldfish for about three years. When my nephew was four, he was sticking his finger in the tank and the fish were nibbling at his finger. I walked out of the room and when I came back in a few minutes later, he had his arm in the tank up to his elbow, PETTING the fishI love your tank, Nicole. The goldfish look very happy. Lol, really? It seems like most "lonely" people get a cuddly pet. My fish are quiet and undemanding, and they help me chill out after I can get away from my friends. This thread reminds me of William A Rusher of NR. Having few friends growing up, he began a lifelong affair with multiple tanks of tropical fish.
I've had lots of fish. I've never had a goldfish for more than a month though, they always died on me.
I always liked betas. They're easy to take care of. I had a beta that I named Pshyc. He lived upwards of 12 years, through all the trauma a fish can take. He finally died after his sixth fishbowl broke.
My youngest sister at the time, dumped flour in the tank, knocked the tank over (that's how the third and fifth tanks broke), the cat broke it once by pushing it off the dresser, other times we didn't know how his bowl broke, he jumped out upwards of three times, my youngest sister dumped all his food in the tank at one time, he was starved for a week when we went camping, and the person animal sitting for us didn't know there was a fish.
He died a week after I passed him on to another one of my sisters. She had a funeral for him, and then we moved.

Left Fish: Don't tell me she is wearing THAT to go out on a date?
Right Fish: Close your mouth!!! You know that is better than the outfit she wore when she spilled Coke all down her clothes.
Left Fish: I can't stop staring! How does she plan to get IN that thing?
Right Fish: I don't know. It seems a little fishy to me.
OK OK!!! I am terrible at these things but I had to give it a try.lol
