Batman007, this isn't related to the rest of the thread but I wanted to answer your question.
Do I currently work in the field of psychology? No, not currently. I sort of used to, but I don't anymore. I do want to eventually again (doing what I did before). That being said, working at a bank and interacting with many different people, I sometimes am still able to use my psychology background.
Technically, that can be used anywhere, naturally. A lot of people think you can't do much with a psychology major, and granted it may be a bit more limited in what you can do in the specific
field of psychology, but it's useful for
any job/field, really.
But I digress.
lol... i've been seating here wondering how you can digress when the topic is basically getting to know other people?
not really suited for the Bible discussion forum since no one is discussing the Bible, but I believe like a degree in psychology, a deep understanding of the Bible and God's laws and promises can be useful in any situation
for example at the bank:
you can talk to people about the proverbs of talents on your lunch break. lol
Matthew 25
[SUP]14 [/SUP]“For
the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country,
who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. [SUP]15 [/SUP]And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. [SUP]17 [/SUP]And likewise he who
had received two gained two more also. [SUP]18 [/SUP]But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. [SUP]19 [/SUP]After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ [SUP]21 [/SUP]His lord said to him, ‘Well
done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ [SUP]22 [/SUP]He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ [SUP]23 [/SUP]His lord said to him, ‘Well
done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
[SUP]24 [/SUP]“Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. [SUP]25 [/SUP]And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look,
there you have
what is yours.’
[SUP]26 [/SUP]“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. [SUP]27 [/SUP]So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. [SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore take the talent from him, and give
it to him who has ten talents.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. [SUP]30 [/SUP]And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
come to think of it the OP topic started off how to lead someone to Christ but I believe God has to convict them of their sins and bring them to godly repentance before anything else can truly be accomplished. however I think most people have concluded prayer is the best answer at this time for the question.
