Who are we to love first ALL the time?
So, on certain days, do you/we/I get caught up in being boldly beautiful in such a way that that day of our lives we put our guiding Light on a backburner in favor of being led by the flesh of 'love.' And, this is not saying--necessarily--that we sexually liberate (I pray not) or do some bad dirty but, instead, just saying we cannibalize God's ways in favor of 'General Hospital' $oapy kind of rich excuse to be loving to another and not as loving to God.

Doesn't God bless us with everything , afterall, He msde everything, and, isn't love a blessing, vfinding 'love' in our life? Marriage, too, a blessing from Him. So.....

I've never been on a date, let alone had a girlfriend so Valentine's Day hasn't ever meant anything to me beyond a day celebrating the commercialism of love. I don't understand the rest of your post.

God wants to be first all the time and as for myself, I know, it is fairly easy to get caught up in seeking love. God has already shown me the ultimate display of love in sending Jesus to reconcile me to Him. There is no other person on this planet that is going to show me more love than God has, and I don't always remember that. I am to entranced sometimes in finding "the one" who is gonna love me for me, when I already have that One; the same One that sent His Son to die for us while we were yet sinners.

Great reminder!

Like Tintin I've never been on a date or had a boyfriend (well, for him it was a girlfriend, but you catch my drift ;)) so Valentine's day hasn't meant anything special. I do like the next-day sales on candy, though. :D

My first love is Christ. There are other things that cause me to sin and put Him on the back burner sometimes, it's not simply Valentine's day related. But He still loves me no matter what. I'm never on His back burner. :P

I wouldn't date someone who did not feel the same about Christ (Him being first in their life) so I would think that they'll feel the same about Valentine's day that I do: Sure, it's recognized as a special day, but show love each and every day! Do special things on days that aren't designated to do so!

God showed me love this week~ and Valentine's Day, by getting me out of a financial issue in which I am only to blame for. That, my friends, is grace and mercy. God is good, even when I am not.

Valentines day to me is another day to live, breathe, study, and heal. I get to do all of those things by the grace and mercy of God. I dig romance and all, but love (whether it be from God or a person) is a gift from Him to begin with. Should the Lord put another man in my life, I will love and take care of him every day. I believe in showing love and respect in some form as much as possible. My love language is gifts, so if I buy or make a little present, or even if it's just remembering his favorite dish for dinner, it is my way of showing I care. February 14th is just another day to do so. However, I do love presents and am happy to receive them on ANY hallmark designated holiday!!

Valentine's Day to me is just another Holiday it's as important to me as St. Patrick's Day. I mean one of them I wear Red and the other Green :D

I disagree completely, I don't think it is a joke at all, if you think about the origins and st. valentine himself. It has been commercialized like many other Christian holidays, even St. Patrick's day is an excuse to get wasted for most secular people. It really rubs me the wrong way that secular people celebrate Christian holidays, but don't know or care to know anything about them because its not a part of their beliefs. Go make up your own holidays and commercialize them all you want, but leave Christianity out of it. If we honor these holidays for the people they are named after and/or the significance of the holiday, then we might gain meaning from them. There is so much to gain from Christian history (even the bad stuff). Any holiday (holy-day) should have an emphasis on Christ and God's love. Whether or not we are alone on Valentine's Day, it shouldn't be about us.

Valentine's Day is simply the greatest joke ever played on single people.

Mr. Zero, come here with that pessimistic attitude and have some fun. All joking aside, if we lived close to each other I would come over there and....... I will leave it at that.

Wait, when I said it was a joke I meant a CRUEL joke, not something that's funny. Yes, V-day had very humble and noble beginnings and I have a lot of reverence for St. Valentine, especially being catholic (and I do not worship saints), but V-day is now nothing more than a big commercialized holiday that serves as a glaring reminder to those who have no one to call their own (me included).

What's said is good from y'all, like Hearose saying God is our One true love and God shows us love by getting us out of financial pickles all the time as we show faith in Him (arewhen) , and, yes, indeed, sirzere, V-day can fer sure be a cruel joke, for some, by the time it's done., pressurized, cruel joke for someone who just LIKES a girl (or guy) really well , and, V-day, YOU can be for sure, Christ peeps, IS a day Satan wants to scrEw your life up (pun intended).

$o, truly, unless you put your love FIRST in him, 'daters,' going-steadyers, blind-daters, in-lovers, the joke could really be on you because you succumb to cruel intentions and let Satan swim with 'bloody' words on this most special of love days, listening, to that 'snake's' aquiescent tones before, this guy your so ga-ga in head over heels over gets you to acquiesce to.....

Lady, man, in God's economy, His power of love is MADE to be perfect, afterall, He made YOU :) So.....unlike Satan (that vamp!!!!), God wants to do GOOOD things to you. Acquiesce ONLY to His leading, not the Enemy's (Satan's!) ploys, especially PRESENT are the RED, HORNED dude's on Valentine's Day.

So, IF, miladies, or, my dudes, you just got hooked up for THIS day only or been in a relationship ((maybe, you are even in a screwy 'love' one now) either YOU choose this day to BREAK off the wrong kind of His right for 'love,' or, you TELL this guy, gal, that you are in the relationship with him/her for His reasons, or, else, there's NO reason for 'us' to be going out. Be a mean girl, or, guy, IF the love you are in is NOT waiting on Him to consecrate you husband and wife for 'screwy' things unto your life blessed by God above and God in us :)

The Lord leads; follow Him, and, this is for all of us to read and heed, we all have our sins we do, like racheedge said, 'she sins,' don't kid yourself, you ARE covered by the blood of Christ of ALL your past sins, and, present and future ones covered too, by CONFESSION :) (1 John 1:9) , the Lord leads-- and, thank you for reading this thread, which, truly, is my love for the some of you having made BAD choices of love toward a gal/guy or, ABOUT TO :( , I LOVE you, want His perfect best for YOU--be led :)

God be with us, everyone, as we fold our hands, and, give you all the dickens of praise we can this special 'red' day coming soon, that we, in our, perhaps, coming 'love' weakness, remember, that that you are strong. Your love is strong enough, just like your grace, that abounds over sin, again, and, again, and, again. Your love, over all, this Valentine's season, I pray, is a day many accept you with their heart, amen.
