It's not a godly thing for a women to usurp authority over a man.

Any time a man allowed a woman to take the lead in an important matter in the bible, it never ended well. And there are verses that say not to do this.....Why is there even a debate going on?

The issue is not usurping man. If a woman has thee gift to teach; is used by God . Then man has no say.

Yea, Debora sure did....lol, I owe Debora an apology. She was not a priestess as far as I remember though, i haven't read judges in ages. Wasn't she just a prophetess and a Judge?

Yea she was, but a judge does play a huge dominate rule kinda like a pastor if you think about it. Mighty tough job especially being over the israelites

What is 'turkey calling'? Also, monotone voices aren't a sin, they just make for boring talks.

I was thinking more along the lines of, Solomon listened to his Women and look what he did. Look at what happened when Ahab let Jezebel run things. Abraham listened when his wife talked about having a child with the bond woman, etc. Job's wife...thank God he didn't take her advice. Adam followed Eve's lead in the garden when he shouldn't have. Paul was also pretty clear about not letting women teach in churches. Women can be prophets, that I know. It even said in the last days that God would pour his spirits out on sons and daughters and they would prophesy. There are a lot of examples of that. If it were permissible for women to teach men spiritually in the role of ministry, why would Paul speak against it?

Read the story slow she was not over anyone.
And she was in submission to barak.
Why people use her as an example like this just dont know the scriptures
or what she really did.

Yea, definitely. She had a husband too, I remember that much. Are there any other examples of a woman taking the lead in the bible that ended like that? I gotta admit, I was ignorant to word my first sentence the way I did. Thanks for correcting me. Males need to learn from Males :p

See i keep making the mistake thinking this thread is about woman pastors/overseers
I wish someone would start a thread about woman serving the Lord.
Then we could all talk about that and all that they do.
